Taking a Shivakali morning class with Chrissy last week was the highlight of our weekend trip to…read moreOjai. The studio itself is the most beautiful and airy space. Simply being in it was incredibly regenerative on this particular sunny spring morning. I haven't felt so at peace for months. Big glass doors were opened into an enclosed zen garden behind the building. Gentle breezes came in and the sunbeams felt incredible. This was the first yoga class I'd taken in about 15 years, so I was rusty to say the least. But Chrissy was great at making sure that people of varying experience levels in the room got a personalized class. We also had local musician Dave Cipriani playing live during the class, which was next level. I believe he was playing a hansa vina (Indian slide guitar) in addition to a classical guitar. We enjoyed the music so much that we came back to the studio that evening for his Talking Strings event with several other musicians. The group played traditional Griot compositions and performed instrumental improvisations on cello, West African harp, the Hansa Vina and other instruments. Both the class and musical event are experiences I'll never forget. The price of the class was reasonable, at least by L.A. standards. This one was $24. It was worth every penny. I can't wait to vacation in Ojai again and spend the majority of my time at Light and Space. There's a ton of great programming happening all the time.

I kinda got reprimanded by a docent for making a ruckus... the other lady that work there... told me I can make as much noise as I want. So much confusion! lol 2) Slapping your face, arm, and ear... the bugs and flies don't care who you are. I ended my visit with 5 or 6 bug bites. Better to wear long pants and long sleeve shirts.Insect repellent and earplugs would be great also. 3) Enjoy the hiking trail along the perimeter that'll take about 15 minutes to go through it. 4) Enjoy the views. I am working with Lepeng on removing old energetic blocks (especially those around receiving money), and two days after my session with Lepeng, I signed up a new client in one of my programs (after the first reiki session, I signed up a new client 3 days later). Beyond so many interesting and personal growth boons Tracey gave me a Reiki attunement session. I somehow thought that meant I was getting a healing but as it turned out she turned on the magic. I did not have any expectations and did not expect to feel the heat in my hands or to achieve greater movement in the areas I had limited flexibility. I slept like a dead man the next two nights. That alone was worth its weight in gold (or copper ;-) ). We did an attunement and a healing and feel officially part of the club. It's hard to find good people and good practitioners.
