Room was sparsely decorated and lacking in quality. Friendly service, although he was a bit hard to understand. Free street parking out front; they have underground parking available as well, although the parkade was under construction when we went.

Compare to other places that I've been before, this was probably the lowest quality in terms of decoration and setup. The puzzles were ok and I didn't really have any complaints about that. However, part of our game got messed up because of a mistake in prep. There was a hidden door that supposed to be opened when we solve a puzzle. One of the ladies in our team touched the door and without any push it got opened. So we went to the next room and after we solved two puzzles there. A guy came in, and said you didn't solve the puzzle and should not be in that room and started giving us hard time that we may have kicked or forced that hidden door open. So all that time we spent In the second room was wasted and time was not reset and we started the game again with shorter time. If everything was setup correctly that door shouldn't have been opened at all. I think part of the fun and good experience about escape rooms is having high quality environment (close to reality) and setup everything correctly because these type of incidents just ruins the whole experience.

We came here with a team of folks of varying ages and experience-levels with escape rooms. The…read morelocation was easy enough to find and we had a pretty good experience with check in (though we had to complete the waiver on paper rather than on the tablet as it was not functioning properly. We then went to complete our 5 Elements escape room which was a really nice themed experience. Often we over thought things as people in the room itself. I liked the room as it had some neat theming and some more unique choices. That said the lighting was rather dim which really diminished the experience for several in our group. We would really hope that such an escape room could be better lit in the future -- for accessibility reasons at the very least! Nonetheless this was a good experience and I would recommend it to others.

Overall it was definitely pretty great as far as escape rooms go, the fact that there are no padlocks is pretty cool. Overall it's a lot more high tech than other rooms we've experienced. Everything worked the way it was meant to and we were able to escape the matrix! We would definitely return here again. I also appreciated a message before our appt letting us know the best place to park.

We were told to show up the usual 10-15 minutes before our booking time to sign the waiver and to…read morepay, but because of the way they operate their business, we actually ended up waiting an extra 15 minutes PAST our booking time. They have this stupid policy where you have to leave a piece of ID, and the staff will go in to the room afterwards to check for damage, hence the delay in play time. (I've played in a lot of the different escape rooms in Vancouver, and this is the first time I've come across this sort of policy). We had a misunderstanding regarding one of their promotions, and the staff were quite rude about it. We did the hostage room, and I was pretty disappointed by the set up. Definitely not as fancy or elaborate as Breakout. Due to the downtown location, there is no free parking unless you come outside the meter hours. I also was not a fan of the sketchy basement location. All in all, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I prefer Breakout by far.

I did the National Security room with some friends. We initially booked the room for 4 people, but…read morefound out once we got there that we'd be put in a group of 8 with 4 other people. I thought it was a bit weird that they didn't mention that we'd need a group of 8 when we first booked, but suddenly put us together with other people the day of our booking. Because National Security is the hardest room they have, I think it IS good to have more than 4 people, but 8 is far too many (maybe 6 max). There were just too many people and while we were crowded in a circle, trying to read a clue or look at something, there were always like 2 or 3 people who were standing around and not doing anything. We did not complete the room, but it wasn't because we were hurting for people, it was because we ran out of time. 45 minutes is far too short to do this, and just adding more people is not the solution. Also, I really didn't like the cheap-looking basement location. The setup reminded me of a very low-budget elementary school play. The props and clues, while creative, were very cheap and not at all convincing. I feel very ripped off since they charged each person $25 for a group of 8 for 45 minutes, and only got a cheaply-decorated room in a sketchy basement. I would not recommend this place, and I will not be returning.
