I went with another person who started the conversation off with "I don't like authentic Mexican food" and I LOVE authentic Mexican food. When we left, the other person left satisfied and I left wanting more spice! The salsa was very tomato soup like with bland chips. Steak tacos were decent. Great price for tacos, $2.50. The rice was basically just white rice, no zazz to it at all. Margarita was on point! read more

Top notch - Exceptionally fresh and flavorful - delicious and good, wow! We know good food and the enchilada verde here is amazing! Margaritas are tasty and nice ambiance in the bar area. The food here is on par with the best of Champaign County. read more

Excellent tacos and the best corn on the cob!

First of all my torta was made on French bread..not traditional bolio and the bread was burnt asked for jalapeño the they put in cup.. my sandwich was cold like pre-made like my sons fries cold.. his quesidilla was hot and hubs meal was but never again.. we did pickup he went early.. if going to be authentic Please try harder.. "Pan de Agua" water bread maybe a challah or brioche or maybe hallow out the extra and don't over toast.. I have high hopes and will try again if give more details on items also ways to add extra sides especially to kids menu items.. They should come with beans and rice regardless not just one.. both are cheap commodities even with this pandemic so charge lil extra.. read more

People complaining about slow service from this awesome, family owned place must be such a pain in the ass the staff doesn't want to be around them. Won't find better Mexican food in central Illinois than here. read more

Great Mexican food that stands out from surrounding Champaign Urbana restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised. Ordered choripollo and three tacos and all was really tasty. The black beans and rice had a ton of flavor. Nice find just a little off the beaten path! read more

Breaking Taco - Choripollo - Mexican Near Me - Mahomet, Illinois

Always great! Best chips and salsa around. A super burrito and a giant (32oz) margarita make me a happy fat kid!

Amazing!! It authentic Mexican. They are also so friendly and have great service. We love this place and go once a week.

I ordered for the first time while at work today. I am very pleasantly surprised. Tastes like real, authentic Mexican food! I will definitely be ordering again. I am a happy (and full) girl :) read more

Breaking Taco - 1 steak taco on a flour tortilla and 1 chicken taco on a corn tortilla - Mexican Near Me - Mahomet, Illinois

Exceeding expectations. Could be the best Mexican food in Champaign County. The tortilla on the huarache was homemade, a little thick, and took the dish beyond even what Maize has to offer. Horchata was good, not to sweet. read more

Got the enchiladas verdes based on recommendations here. They were just as good, if not better, than what people say. They weren't to busy for lunch and I received my food very quickly. read more

Great food and service. Best tortilla chips around. Full bar with authentic and interesting options for those looking for more flavor and taste. Nice, small & quaint with wonderful service. Family owned and run. Really invested in wanting to provide an all around good experience. read more

Was just passing through on a road trip, stopped in town for gas, then noticed this place on Yelp. The ratings are legit. I had a very tasty breaded steak torta. read more

Breaking taco is hands down the best food in mahomet. Typically, we go to Champaign to eat, but breaking taco is the only place we like in mahomet, and we love it. When I'm in town we go every week, sometimes twice or three times that week. There are three vegetarians and two carnivores in our family and we all love it equally. I really like the unique options available for vegetarians like the avacado, cactus, or pumpkin flower tacos. The gorditas are fantastic. My brother always gets the steak tacos and my boyfriend loves the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. I typically get one pumpkin flower taco, an avocado Gordita and the cactus taco. read more

This is good food. The prices are lower than you'd expect and the food quality is through the roof. Generally speaking service is rapid with waits taking at most a few minutes. If you want an authentic Mexican experience than this is without a doubt the place to go read more

Amazing fresh food. This place rivals Maize in Champaign. Love you - you should try it!

The best Mexican food around with out a doubt. Also the best breakfast in Mahomet on Sunday.

It was just ok. It was very different. The queso tasted like potato soup. The salsa was good. It was very different almost here a Chinese mix with it. It's nothing like we ever had. We ordered fresh made margs and they were horrible. Service was just ok. I can't say we would go back. Q read more

Great set up for ordering online! You covered every custom option with ease. Food was delicious! It would be helpful on a large order to write what the meals are on the container so we don't have to open every foil to see/guess what it is. Also, the Chori.Pollo dinner did not have the corn tortillas that were supposed to be included. read more

Great food. Authentic tacos, salsa, crispy chips. Nice people too. We love this place!

Good bang for your buck. Got 2 tacos and a side for 7$. would highly recommend the steak tacos!

Small menu, but I think it allows them to focus on quality. Crunchy taco appetizers were fantastic, along with a chicken quesadilla and pork taco. Overall, a great place to eat. And an awesome name! Ha! read more

I had to try this restaurant after seeing the sign outside of the establishment as a viewer of the show for which it takes its name. I am not going to lie, I didnt have the highest expectations for the food and went more for the gimmick than anything else. However, I was very pleased with the delicious food and the wonderful staff there and will certainly be back. The only thing I would change would be to add more decorations, especially in the bathrooms because while clean they are rather plain. read more

This is some of the best Mexican I've had around Champaign. Now I don't have to drive for great tacos, tortas, or enchiladas.

Delicious guacamole and tacos. My husband had the chile rellenos which were also excellent! He gave us generous samples of the hibiscus tea and the yummy rice water too!! read more

No need to drive to Champaign or Chicago anymore for authentic, handmade Mexican food! I had a steak taco and Gordita with amazing homemade salsa and guacamole. Looking forward to going back to try more of the menu and the weekend soup specials! read more

This place is awesome! Truly authentic Mexican food. Ate here twice while visiting from DC. Enchiladas Verde was delicious. Also tried the steak nachos which had the best cheese sauce I've ever had. My favorite thing was the steak burrito. It's a must try! Delicious margaritas served in gorgeous Mexican/southwest designed goblets. Not too sweet or too sour... just perfect and didn't feel like I needed a nap afterwards! read more
