Restaurant is clean and well kept, service was great, workers are respectful and, the food tastes great.

I got the taco salad and holy crap...when I say no flavor, I literally mean no flavor. the chicken was just plain boiled chicken. I asked for grilled chicken and got shredded chicken with zero seasoning. it tasted like fish it was so bland. the same with the rice-no flavor at all. the cheese dip was $6!!! at least they filled it to the top I suppose...won't be back. yikes. read more

CHORIZO!! I love good chorizo and Agave has excellent chorizo. The chorizo and chicken tacos were great maybe a tad dry but overall good. The enchilada Verda was fine. Agave was a delicious surprise. It had a great atmosphere and a very friendly staff. The food was great. I had the burrito lunch special. I usually don't care for the rice served with the meals, but Agave's was full of flavor. The portions were huge too. Also loved the complimentary chips and salsa. read more

Came in while in the area for a couple days. Seen it had four stars thought I would try it out. The chimi I had was stuffed with shredded chicken lacking in flavor and semi dry with no other ingredients, the fried tortilla was only half cooked and chewy. Not a good experience. Decent food. Chicken fajita and beef taco dinner. Add guacamole. $26. A bit steep. Lettuce and pico de Gallo were fresh. Lots quality Chihuahua cheese. Authentic rice and refried beans. Wow! Delicious Mexican food at a great price! I have to preface my review by stating that I've lived in Mexico and have spent a lot of time checking out Mexican restaurants all over the country. Agave has authentic, fresh and delicious Mexican food. I was excited to see my favorite chicken soup on the menu. This might not sound exciting, but Mexican chicken soup is something you must try if you haven't already. They serve it with a LOT of white meat chicken, rice, delicious broth, and avocado. I always ask for their spicy salsa as well. Tonight I had the chicken soup and one pork taco. The pork taco was a meal in and of itself. Most places have to give you two corn tortillas for each taco due to the size and texture of most corn tortillas. Agave has great corn tortillas. One would have been plenty. I was also given some chips and salsa. Sooo delicious! Two bags of quality food for under $8. I gave $10 and said keep the change. I have to thank my friend Gabby for recommending Agave to me when I was looking for something good for dinner. I had my dog with me and needed a place I could either drive through (which they have) or sit outside. They have a picnic bench out in front. Super friendly owners and staff. Check it out!! Very pleased to have found Agave in Rantoul while traveling across Illinois on a Sunday evening in June, 2021. We called ahead to ask about outdoor seating and a special accommodation. Person answering the phone was immediately accommodating, so we exited highway and easily found our way to a small old building with a large tent in the parking lot. Several vehicles arrived just before us and parking lot was very full giving us a good first impression. We were cordially greeted, seated immediately, and a cheerful waiter promptly brought us a basket of chips with salsa and big glasses of water. We ordered chicken quesadilla, chicken la plancha and a side of chunky guacamole. Food and plates were piping hot and remained warm throughout our meal. Serving size was generous for the price and everything was perfectly prepared and very tasty. Delicious, light sweet cream sauce on the veggies-- tasted like butter. Salting was very subdued on everything , which was most appreciated as most places overuse salt. Was so good we decided to place a to-go order for tacos for midnight snack. Found the tacos to be yummy with generous portion of chicken. Will definitely return next time passing by Rantoul! read more

Maybe the local crowd doesn't know Spanish, but I can understand the vulgar language among the servers, some of it referring to customers. I won't spend any more of my money at any business that allows such poor conduct of the employees. That's aside from the fact the food was bland, the service sucked, and the cleanliness was "acceptable". They'll be out of business soon if they don't improve what I saw. read more

Agave was a pleasant surprise in Rantoul. I visited on "Taco Tuesday" which apparently is a popular event judging by the packed tables. Despite being quite busy we were seated and served promptly. The menu is straightforward but well done. We had tacos (of course) and they were delicious. I want to come back and sampled the rest of the menu when it's not so crowded. Recommended. read more

What can I say about agave? I've eaten in 10+ times in the past year, and order to go since COVID became an issue. Never once has my food not been absolutely delicious and hot! They've never messed up my orders, done in or carry out! Their adult beverages are also AMAZING! The food is ready fast and the staff are so friendly! The owners of Agave are very friendly and personable. Upon entering the restaurant, we are always greeted promptly. The servers always bring our children crayons, high chairs, and water with lifs without having to ask. Food is prepared quickly and accurately. Most importantly, it's delicious. The cheese dip cannot be beat and Taco Tuesday has become our go to for dinner once per week. My only l complaint (which may be personal preference) is that I wish they served Coke products as opposed to Pepsi. Coke comes laments Mexican food so much better. read more
