So, I'm finally back from my 1yr long "vacation" to parts unknown, ... and I feel froggy today, so…read moreI figured I'd write a short review, just to get my feet wet. Pro Image Sports (Est, 1985) is a Sporting wear / fan memorabilia store located inside the main "Market Place" in Freedom Crossing RIGHT before the entrance of the actual PX. Hats, shirts, jackets, emblems, car sun shade visors, thermos's etc, a very small version of your normal "Fan Shop" like you'd find inside a typical mall. From GSW to the SEC infamous and storied Alabama Crimson Tide, to the local EP Chihuahuas, they have a little bit of everything. I really like that's it's located inside of Freedom Crossing, as here is no TRUE sports shop there. I mean YES, they have the UnderArmour store and YES, UnderArmour has Steph "2017 NBA Champion" Curry. However, it's all UnderArmour themed gear, and not team related. PLEASE, forgive me for being sexist, and forgive me for being stereotypical, however, MEN, more often than not, love their sports. Whether it's multi sport fandom or just the hardcore football and football only guy. Now statistically (just stating facts), there are more men stationed here than women. And again, statistically, there's more men that care about sports than women. So why wouldn't there be a sporting wear store in Freedom Crossing? And now that I think about it, why isn't there a BIGGER one? Like this ProImage Sports x2 in size coupled with like a FootLocker? Anyways, I hope using the men as an example isn't offensive, because it's fact. So if facts re offensive to you.... don't pursue the college degree that you don't have yet in any science related field. Stick to the social work arena where opinions are king... or queen. First review back on the soil. Not sure how I feel about it. But I DO know that this place gets 4 stars from me based on the fact it has a decent selection, AND, it's literally the only one of its kind on post. 2stars + 2stars = 4stars. Now stop in and get your Golden State Warriors gear, ... Dad it Mayne

They have a pretty good selection of NFL, NBA team goods from hats, mugs, car products, shirts,…read morestickers etc... if you have a team you follow, I'm sure you'll be able to find something you like. I was looking for some GSW goods for my husband but because the season has ended and they won the championship, most of the stuff were sold out. But the guy at the counter was very helpful and he took time to look for stuff my husband may like with me.

Listen. I have about as much business holding a golf club as I do participating in professional…read morefootball (also care about as much for either). But when it comes to golf courses, this one's quite nice. I might even say it's...aristocratic. Like most places, you have the option to play 9 holes or 18. It's obviously cheaper if you bring your own clubs and happen to be in the military. Also, I had the opportunity to scope out the gift shop and...dayamn! They have single golf clubs worth more than my ice hockey skates! That's insane, yo! Attire: don't wear jeans here. Seriously, just don't. Typical golfing etiquette calls for some type of collared shirt and khakis. So, as long as you don't go looking like you're attending a BBQ, you should be fine. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to try out the local restaurant there. I was looking forward to sampling their breakfast, but...perhaps next time. I will say their locker rooms are immaculate! But you have to rent out the keys if you want to access them. Ah...but what of the course itself? Well, the layout seemed pretty standard. However, at one point I definitely saw dog poop on the fairway, which...I'm fairly certain is a no-no on the golf course. Well, at least the sand traps were well maintained (my boss must've shagged about 5 balls into the sand traps. Made me look kinda bad ass). If you're into this sort of thing, this course will do just nicely. As for me, I'm grading on a curve here, since I don't give a rat's ass about golf and was merely participating out of coercion. I'm giving Underwood 4 former hockey players questioning their life choices on a golf course out of 5.

May 2026. Terribly kept and not worth your time or money. Greens are mid tier at best. Fair ways…read morepoorly kept for the most part and same for the signage around the course pointing to holes and providing distances. First time playing here and last time probably as well unfortunately

El Paso County Parks & Recreation - Splash and Dash in #ElPaso at Ascarte Park.

El Paso County Parks & Recreation

One of the prettiest parks you'll find in El Paso and it definitely houses a lot of great memories…read morefor locals. Everything from concerts to 5Ks are held at this park and at one time this was home to Western Playland (before it's move to NM, it actually was a great amusement park). In the center is the lake where you can go fishing or paddle out on a boat. I'm not entirely sure why, but people don't swim here. It's actually out of El Pasoans character to swim in anything but an actual designated pool which completely breaks my heart. I grew up swimming in creeks, lakes, and rivers and never once did I question the green stuff growing down the ways or whatever touched my foot (you always just assumed it was a catfish), but Ascarate Lake is actually a clean looking lake so it is literally the ideal swimming spot. My friends from Wisconsin wouldn't hesitate to jump in Ascarate...just saying. Ascarate Park may in fact be the largest park in El Paso and it's one of my favorites. There are a few improvements that I think could be made like adding a dog park and allowing re-admittance at events (you have to pay every time even though they give you a ticket, what the hell is the ticket for then?), but overall it's a great place for an event or an evening out with friends and family. Oh and it's free on the weekdays!

Although the lake in Ascarate Park is man-made, it's sure great to see water for some change…read more Entry is free on the weekdays, and $2 per car on the weekends. This park is pretty big, and I love that there's a gravel path that wraps around the lake. Word of warning, I recommend paying attention to weather forecasts and avoid running outside just before/during a dust storm unless you love sand in your mouth. and eyes. There several great reasons to making your way over to Ascarate Park. Being active outside is one of them. Whether you're participating in an official running race or just getting some miles in your shoes, it's a relaxing area to run (and/or jog, walk, bike). There are quite a few 5K runs that take place here including the Walking Dead 5K Run that takes place on the weekend of Halloween ('real' zombies are after your two flags; terrify and fun!). This also the place for HUGE concerts/music festivals. There's certainly enough field space. These big events are usually well advertised for months over the radio. Or check out the 'Events' tab on Yelp! Family time is another reason to visit this park. Every time I've been here I've seen families picnicking/barbecuing under the picnic awnings. These are located throughout the park. There are also at least two play grounds for the kiddos! Definitely a family-friendly place. If only I lived closer to Ascarate, I would spend more evenings running here. But feel free to reach out if you're interested in finding other running routes/paths near Fort Bliss/Airport or on the Westside of town.
