Solid breakfast place. I had the Eggs Benedict while both my kids had the country fried steak. The poached eggs in the Benedict were spot on. Nicely done over all. The Hollandaise was decent and I ordered it on the side - sometime they can be overwhelming and I'd rather have it on my terms. Both my kids noted that the country fried steak was overwhelming in taste and sat heavy. Neither finished. We don't eat much in the way of fried foods so take that in consideration. Over all, I enjoyed eating here. It's clean, staffed well and efficient. If you're Covid weary, the staff follows guidelines but most of the patrons do not. The booths have plexiglass separators between tables. I really liked this notwithstanding the central air system. Still, made me feel just a little bit better eating inside. read more

Came for early breakfast 6:59 walked up to enter and they looked at us and locked the door. The door had been open prior- they were putting out tables. My husband said to give it another try, so we did, this morning. (11;00am on Sunday) Unfortunately, not any better. This time they did have enough wait staff, but not enough kitchen staff, and the wait for our food was way too long. Once it came, it was fine. Waitress was apologetic and very nice; kept refilling our drinks, but after 3 large drinks and no food yet, we were disappointed.... This place is the worst of the franchise. I have never experienced such poor service and food quality that goes along with the name. This specific location was disgusting, our orders took forever then were made wrong, (asked for just a turkey club, specifically said a boxcar with no ham), got it with ham and was told there is no way to make it without ham. Waited over an hour for a sandwich, waffle and hashbrowns, waited just as long for a refill on my coffee. Then after consuming half my sandwich, found body hairs in my food. Was told it was from produce even though it was clearly body hair, with follicles. I told a manager and nobody even attempted to resolve. The female manager was just like "oh, our produce has stuff on it that looks like body hair".... regardless, I do not want any of that in my food. Waste of 40 bucks. We came here after our manatee swim and this place did not disappoint. My kids got the depot, my hubby got the sunrise skillet, and I got the garden omelet. We asked for our hash browns extra crispy and they did, but not crispy in the middle. My omelet had very little veggies but otherwise, everything was delicious. The service was fast and fairly friendly. I would recommend this place. read more

I don't know if it is always this busy, but when we ate there today (11am on a Thursday), they were incredibly understaffed. The waitresses were literally running around the place taking orders, clearing tables, bringing food out..... to the detriment of the customers, who had to wait approx 15 minutes to be seated (not because there weren't tables available, but because the tables had not been bussed). Similar wait to order. Food came out quickly and was good. Atmosphere is open, plain, and diner-y. Can get a bit loud. Wait staff was apologetic and very friendly, but it was rather stressful to watch them scurrying around like that. Will be looking for alternatives for a better breakfast experience while we are in town. read more

After reading the reviews I figured I'd give it a go considering the only bad things to say were about the service. Walking in everyone greeted us with a big "welcome home." The place was very clean and the food was awesome. I ordered a grand junction. It was fried chicken on a cheese biscuit with sausage gravy on top. Woooowwwwww, it was ammmaaazzzinnng. The chicken was extremely crunchy on the outside and very juicy on the inside. It was fried to perfection with a great batter. The sausage gravy was really good. The biscuit was perfect... it was definitely home made you could clearly tell. It paired with the chicken beautifully. My friend got the depot breakfast with an extra side of their special maple sausage and biscuits and gravy. I don't personally like grits but he said they were average. The combo of the biscuit and chicken and the maple sausage were by far the best. I think they may have tied. The coffee was weak but that's pretty typical at breakfast places. To address the service... I thought that we had good service. Several waitresses worked together to make sure everything was covered. Maybe after getting the previous reviews they worked on it ... but I wouldn't have guessed that they gave anyone bad service because it was so outstanding. We were instantly seated and our order was put in right when we were ready and the food was out fast.... I have no complaints... Breakfast Station feels like a family owned restaurant with excellent brunch options. We were across the street for the Manatee Tour and was half frozen when we got to the restaurant. They seated us quickly and served us some hot coffee to warm us up. We end up ordering the Country Omelet and The Depot. The food was spot on and our server was very friendly. Nice variety on the menu including Benedicts, omelets, skillets, waffles, pancakes, basic eggs and breakfast meats. Classic Benedict had perfectly poached eggs with tasty ham and well-executed Hollandaise. I requested crispy hash browns and they were as requested and yummy. Two delicious skillets ordered at our table had nicely balanced ingredients and perfectly cooked over easy eggs. Service was delightful from the person that greeted us to our waitress to the Team-filled coffee cups to the owner who walked around and checked in with diners. Fun local diner that was actually open on New Year Day for breakfast and lunch. Huge place inside; however tables are really spread around so plenty of open areas. The menu is classic breakfast and lunch, nothing spectacular but well made. My husband loved the maple sausage and I enjoyed the hot coffee and the fast service. I've visited many Breakfast Stations and this one seems to be one of the worst. We waited quite a while after a server asked us what we wanted and we only needed water. Another server offered to take our drink order because she saw we had been waiting so long. Finally the sever dropped off our water and took the order from the table next to us and then disappeared. There were only about 5 tables occupied and they had at least three servers. We asked the other sever to flag her down for us. The server could be seen at the prep area but wasn't coming. We finally walked out. Won't be back to this one. read more

So there I was... Caught between an empty stomach and a full tank of gas. The misty Florida morning stretched out before me like an empty, pancakeless wasteland, devoid of satisfaction, bereft of anything to sate my seemingly endless hunger. As I made my way through the almost impossibly polished glass doors, I knew immediately I was on the right track. Booths of gleaming, crimson Naugahyde greeted me and, upon seating, set about their work relieving my aching bones from the weight of my travels. A cup of brew was swiftly placed before me, it's heady aroma bringing back a strong memory of a long ago trip to London, a girl in a pub, then in a taxi, then in my flat... a long night spent talking until the sun rose again, bathing our resplendent nude figures in the faintest angelic glow of the golden hour, but no... this coffee was stronger. After a brief glance at the over abundance of delicious breakfasts and breakfast related items, my mind had been made up, my course had been set, and my destiny was firmly in the hands of the Breakfast Station. Number Nine. Glowing spotlight eyes gazed back at me from plumes of smoke as I took in the decor of this veritable Oasis of Omelette. Trains and train related paraphernalia littered the walls, and nary was there to be seen a server or host who did not seem to be invigorated by the sight of these marvels of semi-modern engineering. Busboys ushering plates from tables, cooks shoveling eggs from cooktops, servers accounting for every passenger, ahem, diner, with an attentiveness of a white gloved inspector giving his final seal of approval. And above it all, stood the conductor. With loud and clear voice, issuing commands, responding to requests, and providing certainty. Certainty that this meal would arrive on time. Certainty that this would be a smooth and restful journey, and that we would disembark, together, on this adventure of biscuit and sausage, that this was a well trained staff, and a well staffed train. A whistle from far away, as if caught on the autumn breeze, heralded the arrival of my meal. Fluffy eggs, as light as an engines steam on the wind. Sad I have to change my review, I do not eat eggs. I asked if I could sub grits for eggs and was told I can't. The meal comes with 2 eggs. Keep in mind on the menu sides eggs $1.39 per egg and grits $1.59. According to the menu grits would be cheaper. NOT HAPPY! read more

Quickly seated, promptly served. Big portions and very tasty. I had the thick french toast. They advertise fresh fruit, but had no bananas. They offered berries, which when further questioned were revealed to be pie filling and not fresh. Coffee was decent. My husband had a cheese and sausage omelet that he loved. Came in for lunch around 1 pm on a Thursday. There were seven table, and 3 servers. We sat for about 5 minutes before we were served water. 5 more minutes passed. Another server came by to ask if we needed drinks. We said no, we wanted to order. She said I'll tell your server. Still no one came to the table. Other tables were also waiting to order. Finally a server emerged to bring food to a table across from us. We were unable to attract her attention, as she seemed intent on ignoring us. We got up and left at this point after approximately 15 minutes. We used to eat at Breakfast Stations a lot, but quit going because of service and wait problems. Ok here we go! Went here because Grannie's was packed and a long wait. Got a seat right away and staff very friendly. Had to wait to get my soup and salad. Had to ask waitress we're are they? Long wait for food as always that's why We stopped going here. There was maybe only 4 tables of people. Kitchen is always so slow. Very pricey we ordered the same food as ordered at other local restaurants and was almost double. Very clean and friendly staff but kitchen always slow. Food was great and everything else seamed in order. If kitchen stepped it up a little would maybe go back. The one in Dunnellon is fast and I visit once a week.
