I know. Five stars... really!? Yes, really!! I don't live on that side of town, but I will definitely make it back there, even with the distance! Everything the Yelpers said to order, I did... and it didn't disappoint. The staff? So nice, so kind. They have only been open at this location for a little over 4 months... and they already knocked it out of the park. Someone knows how to cook AND run a restaurant! Congrats!! read more

This is a really great place! The owner is really nice, and takes care of his customers. It is a simple menu and everything was great. I ordered 2 eggs,2 pancakes, and 2 sausage and it was a ton of food! There are 6 types of coffee to choose from, and you can go up and get refills at any time -no waiting for your waiter. Even though it was busy, the line and the wait for food was fast and I would definitely go back again! Great for families too. read more

Really nice place! Food was terrific and the people were really nice! Great place for families!

The owner is such a cute man. Very serious about his business, but has a twinkle in his eyes when he smiles at you . The food is always fresh and great coffee. Not to meantion he bought my coffee for me what a sweetheart read more

Really good! So many choices! Can't wait to come back! The waffles are amazing! Definitely give this place a shot!!

The food was pretty good, and the service was fast. I even got a free cup of coffee, which I was very happy with as well. It's a very casual atmosphere on par with a Tom's if you live near one of those. It's a little out of the way for me from where my family lives in the area, but I was glad we made the trip. You could tell the locals really like it too as there were many who looked to be regulars, and the place was getting a very steady stream of customers. read more

Stopped here for breakfast the morning after a crazy long bike ride before driving back to San Diego. The avocado omelet was perfectly cooked with a generous portion of avocado. Nick, the owner, said his potatoes were the best anywhere, and they were truly great...crispy outside and soft inside. Self serve coffee refills make it easy to get caffeinayed, and the coffee was good. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area again. read more

Stopped in for lunch and had a delicious Greek salad and chili cheeseburger. Food is always good and personnel friendly and welcoming. We have been going for years and it's always good. Get the Denver omelet. Best anywhere for my money. read more

Been going here for years. Always good and the Breakfast Special is a deal you can have all day. From the Tuna melt to the omelets it's all good. read more

Love it! Best sausage breakfast burrito I've ever had, and the owner is always very kind!

Quick. Tasty. Efficient. This place has a really great and fast service. We waited maybe 3 minutes before we got our food. It was that fast. I will definitely recommend everybody about this nice restaurant. The outdoor seating is really nice read more

This place is excellent! The service was top notch as well as the food. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good no fuzz breakfast at a reasonable price. read more

Took 10 month old grandson here with my daughter and husband. Baby got his huge "mickey mouse" pancake free. (Babies eat free) Nice coffee bar with colombian, French roast, hazelnut, vanilla coffee. Offer reg. half and half, hazelnut and vanilla creamer too. Nice menu, reasonably priced; but best of all, it's a great mom and pop type place with amazing service. read more

I am only giving it four stars because it was our first time and we did not try enough different items to fairly rate the menu. I don't like ordering fast food style. Personally, I feel rushed and do not feel I can really check out the menu. However, the owner was a very nice man and extremely patient. There are waiters who bring the food to the table so you don't have to go and get it. If you have wait staff, why not let them take your order at a table? Drinks are self serve. I guess doing it this way keeps the cost down for the customers. Breakfast was very reasonable. It was $14.00 for two people. It has a very laid back atmosphere and kids are welcome. I noticed the couple next to us were eating a gyro combo plate that looked and smelled incredible! The portions are not huge, but are generous. We will definately come back! read more

Great eggs & French toast. Nice breakfast place.

Very laid back & straight forward cafe. Order, pay, take your number, pour your own coffee...and wait. Service was good and fast. Food was meh...ok. Pancakes were the best thing on my plate...but coffee was a bit disappointing (I had the French Roast). If the weather is nice, sit outdoors if you can, it's relaxing. read more

I look forward to my hair appointment at Cleos hair salon because I know I will be eating here! I usually get their omlets, French fries ( ps their ranch is amazing), or their burger! Place is awesome, never been disappointed! The staff is also very friendly and remember you, which is always nice!! The prices are also very affordable, with larger portions! read more

It's about time we got a really good casual restaurant that is reasonably priced and has good large portions.

Great breakfast place. Great service and great food equals great choice. This is a great review. Yep, nailed it.

I just love this place and I don't know how I haven't written a review sooner! Nick is the absolute greatest but everyone there is fantastic!! While I do enjoy several things on the menu, my all time favorite is the breakfast burrito with ham, avocado and extra sour cream!!! They do not short you in ingredients, I can always count on having half my burrito when I get it and half later. Also, their salsa is delicious so get extra of that also! Thanks for the delicious food every time and for the amazing hospitality! Love you guys!! :D read more

Love this place! The owner is always very pleasant and attentive. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. The food is tasty. Though I've only eaten breakfast here, they have a full lunch menu too. I've tried virtually everything on their breakfast menu and have no complaints. read more

Orange juice was delicious. Potatoes were burnt and had no taste. Expected more after reading the reviews.

Actually just had the best BLT of my life. Bacon was super crispy and yummy, staff was friendly and everything was clean. Hope to go back soon! read more

Living in Oak Park you're surrounded by high end everything...growing up here 22 years later I've seen many business come and go... many Resturant's like Cisco's, San Sai, and Kravings. Breakfast cafe has been holding there business down for 5+ years and is a great breakfast/lunch spot with very reasonable prices! You don't have to spend an arm and a leg for a meal unlike a lot of places in this area due to rents being very expensive for the businesses. read more

This place has such a great service, super fast and the food is good. Martin there went above and beyond for us (we have a toddler so sometimes you need a little extra help with that). We'll def be back! read more

This place is awesome - great food at an inexpensive price and really nice people offering up great service. The older gentleman that runs the place knows how to treat his customers and as a result I am a frequent patron. read more

I eat here quite frequently. Everything I have ever had has been delicious! They make the most amazing breakfasts, and their turkey and chili cheese burgers are phenomenal. Someone mentioned that the chili reminds them of Tommy's chili. I made that comment to the owner and he told me he used to work with the man who owns Tommy's and it is their chili recipe that he uses. Mmmmmmmmm, everything is delicious, and the guys that work there are the friendliest ever. I will sometimes phone my order in for pickup. They never ask for a name, but as soon as they see me, they know which is my order. Thank you to Nick and everyone that works at Breakfast Café for making such amazing food and being such wonderful people!!!!! read more

Excellent service, but meh food. Not bad, just nothing to be excited about - but you can't beat it for the price. For a cheap, quick breakfast it is solid, but if you're looking for anything more then you should look elsewhere. read more

Best breakfast spot in Oak Park!! Better be for bein called "breakfast cafe" anyway menu has plenty to choose from and ordering is quick in case your in a rush. Love the burritos and the coffee bar is awesome! Great for food to go or hang out and eat there with flat screens and watch the morning news. read more

This is a great spot for breakfast and I really enjoy walking here on the weekends for a late breakfast. Prompt service, big portions, low prices, friendly employees, and good tasting food. What more could you want? Glad to have this in my community. read more

Needs a good cleaning! First impression is floor hasn't been cleaned well since they opened. Grout wasn't black to begin with. Chair has hole in it and table finish is cracked. These are observations before breakfast is served. No excuse since this restaurant is only open from 7am to 4pm. I guess it is okay if you are looking for cheap and easy. Staff is pleasant. Food was good. Rated so low because it needs a good cleaning. If the restaurant out front is not clean what does the back of the house look like? read more

See all

I just had the best omelette ever. We were walking to Starbucks but my girlfriend suggested we try this breakfast place that we hadn't been to before so we diverted our walk and came here. Well I couldn't be happier. The flavor and consistency was amazing. I will definitely be back! read more

Love this place. The owner is so warm and inviting. The food is yummy and everyone enjoys coming back. It's always packed here so it may take a minute to find a table but it's worth the wait. read more

We were feeling like trying something new, so we went to Breakfast Cafe. It was nice enough and we decided to sit outside. Everything was nice until we received our food. One bit in to my boyfriend's breakfast burrito and we find a huge thick piece of hair. I immediately told the employees and they were kind enough to make us another, but it came out almost too quickly and had us questioning whether they'd just changed the tortilla. After that we'd lost our appetites and decided to leave. Unfortunately our interest in trying something new ended badly and we will not be returning to this establishment. read more

If you want to wait for over an hour to be seated, and then wait another half hour to have your order taken his is the place for you!!! No matter the quality of the food, the customer service, efficiency in which this place is operated, and the smug attitudes make this place a definite "No Fly Zone". Will not be returning. read more

Good food, great service, good prices, free wifi, lots of space! What's not to love?!

Our family has been eating here for years. The food is consistently delicious and very reasonably priced. The owner, Nick, is a sweetheart and his son is usually there as well. The food comes quickly, and there is a nice patio out front to sit at when the weather is warm or if you have your pup with you. The chicken gyro sandwich is outstanding. The breakfast potatoes are also one of my favorites. Highly recommended. read more
