My girlfriend and I came to here to have breakfast. The service was good, fast and efficient. However, the food was lacking flavor. I got a media noche and my girlfriend got a tuna sandwich. I discovered this gem on Yelp yesterday while looking for a Cuban bakery and I never expected to find something this ridiculously good. As someone living in Miami who comes from a Cuban background, I've gone to countless Cuban bakeries and while some are better than others, none have been as good as this one. The last thing I expected was to walk into this bakery only to find unheard of combinations of pastries and desserts. I couldn't help myself so I ordered two chorizo and cheese pastries, one croqueta, one guava puddin, and a gustazo. The gustazo is a flan with condensed milk and dulce de leche at the bottom, topped with pecans. Those are some of my favorite things so I had to order it. My best friend ordered the Nutella and cheese pastry, a custard with dulce de leche on top, and a guava pastry. Everything she got was also divine. The combinations are unheard of in typical Cuban bakeries, but like I said, this isn't your typical Cuban bakery. Everything tasted so so good, even if it was a strange combo. Typical Hispanic bakery with empeñadas, croquetas, pastries and such I had the Rico suave sandwich-it's huge! I could have shared it. The chorizo and queso pastry was delicious. They are a small little store front but they move customers in and out quickly, they also do to go orders and I believe DoorDash or other food delivery service. If that's your priority, this is not the place. The cakes at breadman are the typical birthday cakes that you buy anywhere HOWEVER the flavors are far from traditional. The cakes are delicious, we've had them at our recent parties and people absolutely love the cakes. To add to this, they will put any picture that you want on the cake. Besides the usual of getting lost when in Hialeah (why do all the street numbers change?), I decided on some breakfast here at Breadman Miami this morning. I ordered a simple Omelette Sandwich, but this thing was loaded because nothing at Breadman is that simple. Breadman has only been open since mid-2015 and it's not your average Cuban bakery. It's more of a fresh, new take on a traditional Cuban bakery. The best I can describe it is Cuban (New), Cuban fusion, or traditional Cuban with a twist. Abuela would not approve. Some of the names of their big ass sandwiches and other items crack me up like their Supermeng and the Rakata. These sandwiches are massive and you probably shouldn't eat a whole one without washing it down with some hot tea. Make sure to activate that gym membership as well. They have a pastelito called "Cheese Burguer" which is pretty huge and apparently that's how Cubans say cheeseburger. Also there's a pastry called "Noooo" but with the squiggly line above the N. It's a Cuban thing. Other notables are "Nutella con Queso" and "Carne Y Maduro" which translates to meat and sweet plantain. Would like to try this next time. They also sell this amazing shirt with the design of a loaf of cuban bread on it but it really says "Cuban Bred." I'm not Cuban bred but even I want to wear it! Overall, I like some of the food here, but in small doses. Some of it is on the salty side and/or some of it is too much fried food to take in all at once. They need to serve hot tea here if they don't already. Breadman, however, gets points for creativity in my book. Also, all of the workers here are Cuban. You better know how to order in Spanish here. I came to visit this place on a Sunday afternoon, before they were closing like at 3:30pm. We ordered two Nutella and cheese pastries, two cookie and Oreo sandwiches and an eclair. They require you to walk in mask, so keep that in mind. Anyways, I love the options they display - so many options (from pastelitos to croquettes you empanadas and cakes) anything you can think of. I had the Nutella and cheese pastry and it was delicious!! It was very sweet but so worth it. I loved it! One day, they decided to turn to social media to see where it would take them. I love their house croquetas. Croquetas have been the main reason I visit their bakery. The bread is good too, obviously, but I was disappointed with their sandwiches. I've only had one, the Cuban one, they used deli meats instead of real pork and that was a bit disappointing. I've also tried their croqueta cake, if you're a non-believer, start believing. It's where traditional meets traditional...with a twist. I arrived to find Breadman Miami in a corner spot of a somewhat dated shopping center that had adequate parking for a Sunday afternoon. The store front is all windows but must have tint on them since you couldn't see much of the inside until you walked up to the door. Upon entering we were greeted immediately, cheerfully and joyfully. The darling sweet ladies were ready to serve but I needed some time to peruse everything. Everything looked so darn good and they were fully stocked! For a Sunday afternoon you would not typically find much left at a Cuban bakery but they had everything and then some. The bakery was jumping when I arrived, while I was there and when I left but they had sufficient staff to handle all the foot traffic. The bakery was bright, immaculately clean with a modern yet simplistic look for a Cuban bakery. There was a few tables and some counter seats which were almost all full. When trying a new Cuban bakery we usually get our usual assortment of sweet and savory bites. In addition to anything else that might catch our eye. However this was a sensory overload of yummy goodness with the traditional Cuban treats and the traditional Cuban treats with a twist. I'm sure you've heard of a pastelito de carne but have you heard of pastelito de carne y maduro? How about a ropa vieja empanada or a rice pudding cheesecake? Some have heard of a flan or a flan cheesecake but how about a flan rice pudding? Yes people they all exist at this bakery and they're scrumdittlelyumptious!!! They also make sandwiches, have ready to go packs of 25 mini pastelitos with varying fillings/flavors (for those impromptu gatherings) and offer catering for special occasions. I prefer them a little denser with a stronger ham flavor. However this is there special blend of ham croquettes. They also have the traditional ones which I didn't try this time around. So I shared the steak sandwich, Cuban sandwich , ham croquettas in addition to desert with my husband. The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfect. I have been here a few times to get pastries for customers and my own place of business. Everyone always loves treats from a Breadman. My office has to be the pickiest and they absolutely adored them. The biggest hits were the varieties of classic and updated Pastelitos: Nutella, Nutella & Cheese, Guava, Guava & Cheese. The biggest hit were the chocolate chip and Oreo cookie/brownies. These were pure delicious decadence. I did have a Cuban Sandwich once and that was very good. The servers at Breadman are absolutely delightful. At some places in Hialeah I feel like I get some attitude because I do not speak Spanish, but not here. Ok so my parents are those hardcore Vicky Bakery/Lucila's rum cake fans. And one day driving by on the palmetto I quickly pointed out to them the cool new bakery that opened up. My mom decided to swing by shortly after and they've been hooked ever since. Every birthday has gone from the same ol' same ol' to the deliciousness of whiskey cake (which is topped with a mini bottle, so cute!), authentic croquetas, and yummy bocaditos con pasta! We switched it up once for a Dulce de leche cake for my brothers birthday and it was also beyond delicious, per usual! They have tons of cake up ready for grabs when you need it but if you're interested in the infamous "Croqueta Cake" you have to call ahead and make an order. She has to be one of the most helpful people I've ever met. You see, a bunch of us Yelpers did our annual picnic and me being me, well, I procrastinated until the day before the picnic in figuring out what exactly to bring. In talking to my boyfriend who is also a Yelper, it hit me to bring a tray of pastelitos and to check the event page. Turns out a lot of people were going to said event, and well, I called Friday afternoon to see what I could get last minute. Apparently they had a special for 25 people that included cheese pastelitos, ham croquettes, more pastelitos, and a cake without breaking the bank: $30. The cake, well, I wish I remembered the original flavor, but it doesn't matter. I got a call the next day that the owner changed the flavor to a more expensive flavor and to make the cake bigger for free. It was a super sweet gesture and much appreciated as the food was a hit; THANK YOU BUNCHES! Oh, and in all of this, Carolina was bubbly and kind and I ordered more food for myself because it was early morning and I was hungry. I was hungry for some traditional cuban breakfast and was in the Hialeah area. Breadman came highly recommended. I had El Completo which gives you a little of everything: eggs, bacon/ham/sausage, tostada, fries, cafe con leche. Yes to their delicious breakfast! Everything tasted great. I also requested a natural orange juice because it's a must at a cafeteria. The pastelitos looked amazing. The croquetas were very tasty, but I prefer the regular ones over the "de la casa" croquetas, aka the ones they make there. Sorry. What topped my visit was the customer service.
