One of the most well known trucks parked here a daily basis is Pique Y Pase 'Pepin' and happens to be one of my spots whenever I'm in the mood for a good meal off the street. The Ecuadorian version of cooked pork is among the finest anywhere. Whether one rocks the hornado (roast pork) or the fritada (fried pork) platter, just know it going to be good eatin'. Don't be afraid to ask for more in case the portions aren't up to par. I'm also a fan of their papas con cuero, which are softly cooked potatpes topped with crispy pork rinds. All platters come with rice and a humita (sweet tamale). For their soups, they serve a mean carne guisada (Latin beef stew), which goes great with their rice. There is also a lengua guisada (beef tongue stew), which is also good, but a bit skimpy portion wise. The best is their seco de chivo, which is a super tasty goat stew with chunks of braised goat meat. They don't always have this as it tends to run out daily. When I first visited this truck, it was almost Spanish speaking only. Their English has improved tremendously over the years and I think the gringo crowds have increased steadily. The only thing that is kind of a drag is the fact their prices have increased significantly and they've become one of the most expensive street food options in the area.
