Took great grandson for lunch today. Service and food were great. Never been there before but I'll put it on my must list. I'll be back next week. read more

A reservation was made and 7 of us gathered at Brazen Head for lunch. Our waitress was attentive, The food was plentiful and delicious. I got the chicken pot pie and brought more than half of it home with me. The person across from me intended to take half of hers home with her, but ended up eating it all so it was apparently very good. Everyone seemed happy with their meal. read more

Great fish & chips & good creamy onions soup. A cup was enough. My French dip tasted like old beef used.

The location is very cute and has a real pub feel. It looked like a lot of people were maybe regulars from the neighborhood too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had their French dip which wasn't bad but could have been better. Maybe offering sautéed onions? Horseradish sauce? It was a basic slice of toast beef on a bun. The au jus dip had a good beef flavor. read more

We came here two nights in a row. It was good! I had the Seafood Boxty(did I spell the right?) then the second night we had happy hour and I had the fried Brie and wings. The baked onion soup is also legit!!! All really good. Good food, good service and the ambience was cool. Walking distance from our hotel so it was perfect! The prices are also reasonable. I'd recommend! read more

I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska. My mom and I visited on several occasions this summer and were never disappointed with the food or service. I will always cherish the time with my mom spent eating at this restaurant during a trying summer 2023. read more

Pro tip: get the artichoke dip! It is different but delicious!! We love all the food we've gotten here and love the atmospheres dedication to all things Irish. We had our engagement party here previously and it went so well. We love Brazen Head! read more

Hidden gem! It's tucked into a strip mall, but don't let the exterior fool you. Once you open the door, you'll find a classic, charming, and surprisingly spacious Irish pub. Excellent food, unique beer selection, friendly patrons and staff. Terri and Lauren were awesome. We will be back soon! read more

Visually, it's a treat -- but if you close your eyes, you could be in any American sports bar that plays obnoxious country pop music. The food is okay -- it's filling and has a good range of options for different diets, but it's too salty. The drinks are good. The service is great. If they paid more attention to the atmosphere, I'd be back more often. read more

This place is not what you would expect from a strip mall bar. The inside has so much character and I've never been to Ireland but my fiancé has and he said it literally looks like the inside of an Irish pub. We went there on a Friday in lent looking for a good fish and chips since Dundee Dell closed and we found it! The beer battered cod was DELICIOUS. Big chunks of cod covered in a crispy almost sweet beer batter filled me up but also left me wanting more. My only regret was not getting the 3 piece -- Next time! read more

I drive by this place all the time in a strip mall by my house. Never gave it much thought. Went tonight with a friend. It looks and feels like every Irish pub I used to frequent when I lived in South Boston! Brought back so many memories. The food, too. Good, solid pub fare. Bangers and mash! Great service, too. Friendly staff. I'll be back. read more

I'm literally writing this while I'm still eating; been eating here for a years now. The Rachel Ruben is excellent, if not one of the best sandwiches hand down. Staff is awesome. Service is impeccable. I'd eat here everyday if I had the time. read more

It's been at least 5 years since we went here. WHY? Well it's well off the paths we normally travel. It was late November when we stopped early evening when on our way home. There weren't very many people in the place, but more came is as we ate. I ordered an Irish beer and the chicken pot pie, she had a boxy, also chicken. The waitress was great. She was all over the place and don't think she had help until just before we left. She is obviously young and has a personality for a job with lots of personal interaction. The beer was a favorite and enjoyed it. The chicken pot pie was VERY good, I could only eat a little more than half, so I will say it was almost as good 2 days later. Heartily recommend it. She said the same about her meal. Between excellent service and a much above average meal we enjoyed the evening. OH, the onion rings were also good! read more

It is long due I write something for Brazen Head Pub. This place is inspired in the OG one in Ireland and has copied its vibe to the best of its abilities. Big space! A lot of sitting and a warm feeling of the Irish glory surrounding the atmosphere and making every patron welcomed. They serve hefty portions in their meals and have a good variety of high quality bar food. I've been here countless times and, yes, sometimes its loud, sometimes the food may not hold when the place is overwhelmed but there's always something that keeps you satisfied. Highlights? Their Potato skins, Boxtys, their Brie, Fish and Chips and the Reuben (because Omaha!). I just wished they served a full Irish breakfast and this may easily be my second dining room! Not many pictures taken because their food is so good my brain just goes into feeding mode. Highly recommended! read more

Brazen Head Irish Pub - Reuben Sandwich - Pubs Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

I've returned several times since my last review, and can confidently say that things have continually improved. Owning and operating a restaurant during COVID-19 has got to be stressful in a variety of ways, and Brazenhead deserves recognition for quality food, good service, and a clean environment. I think there was a bit of a rough patch with some changes, but I think the owner has struck a great balance at this point. I highly recommend stopping by! read more

Always GREAT food, service and atmosphere! Fish, boxtys, nachos ruebens, wings, salads, clam chowder, and Irish music on certain nights. The decor is Irish Pub and very welcoming. read more

I had the spicy cheese curds and holy cow are they amazing. I'm kind of sad I found this place the week we are moving. The staff are amazing and accommodating. Fantastic beer selection. The menu is Irish extensive and great. Definitely coming back. Probably tomorrow! Well I went back. Such wonderful staff. Best bread Pudding I have had in Omaha. So delicious. I highly recommend this place for food or drinks! read more

Stopped in for lunch to try the reuben. The meat was thinly sliced and similar to deli lunch meat. The sandwich had a good balance of meat, cheese and kraut and the bread wasn't soggy, which tends to happen on a reuben. All in all, I thought the reuben was ok, but not something I would order again. The cottage fries, beer battered onion rings, and kid's burger were good. The table beside us had fish and chips and boxtys, which all looked really good, and definitely something I want to try. The service and everything else was good. The bar has a cool set up with a nice patio in back and a good Irish pub vibe. read more

Fantastic lunch. We tried almost one if everything as is our way. When you travel with a large group you get to try a lot of things. Cottage pie, excellent. Toad in a hole, excellent. Chicken pot pie, excellent. Brie, excellent, onion soup, excellent spicy cheese curds, very good and fish and chips, pretty good. They had a lot of batter and served with waffle fries. Not a deal breaker. I think mostly the rest of the food was so good the fish just didn't stand out. Next time we are back this way...we will be back! read more

The good: oh lord the food. The food! Just incredible how well the simple ingredients are treated. So hearty and so delicious that regardless of other factors, I will be coming back. And portions/prices for about everything were perfectly reasonable, but the kid's meal is the best value on the menu, a portion bigger than the adult entrees for half the price. The baffling: the service. Not unkind or inattentive but awkward. And while I personally prefer it this way, I noticed most other diners were unhappy how cold it was in there- since it was a cold day outside, I imagine it's also super hot on hot days. The bad: the seating here is sticky, grimy, and about to fall apart. I was a little afraid to sit and I remained uncomfortable throughout my meal. read more

Nice prompt greeting from my server at this "Please Seat Yourself" place (which was a nice change). I ordered Chicken Pot Pie (see photo) and a cup of a Roasted Onion? (a white soup (another photo) that was served VERY hot but arrived about 2 minutes prior to the entree...I asked to have it before the entree...hopefully more than 2 minutes before. The soup was almost tasteless, watery and I left half of the cup. The good sized menu stays closely to an actual Pub theme...another nice change from others that offer a few "authentic " items then drift away quickly with burgers and wings. Great job! My Chicken Pot Pie featured a very nice mix of veggies that were not overwhelmed by mashed spuds. I've already recommended it to 3 friends. At about $17 plus tip Brazen Head was a decent value. The misses were the soup (which can happen when a kitchen is committed to soups of the day) and one, very quick stop by my server. That said, I'd definitely try this place again and would encourage other Yelpers (including those beer drinkers) to give it a shot! read more

We were in Omaha visiting relatives and were looking for a good place for lunch. This restaurant is located in a strip center and has the feel of a nice Irish pub. We were here at the tail end of the lunch hour and the restaurant wasn't overly busy or crowded. The service was very prompt and the waiter was very friendly. Our party of 4 ordered a variety of Irish favorites including a Reuben (my wife) and fish and chips for me. The Reuben was very good and the fish and chips were excellent. read more

First impression was a good impression, with one note. The spouse and I had lunch on a Thursday. The vibe, except for the country & rock music playing thru the speakers, was good. Too many Irish pubs in Omaha are Irish in name only...really glorified sports bars. The Brazen Head is closer to what I've experienced in Irish pubs around the world, including the UK. Not perfect, but close. I had the Brian Boru Boxty with a cup of baked onion soup: best onion soup I've ever had. Will do a bowl next time. The boxty (potato pancake with bangers & mash) was also very good. The spouse had the Dubb Linn stew in a bread bowl, with fries ("chips", in UK speak). Also very good. We look forward to visiting again. read more

Had the fish and chips and highly recommend it. Of course a nice glass of Guinness on tap pairs well. The only down thing I could say is the person a couple tables away was on his speaker phone the entire time which was quite annoying. Not the Brazen Heads fault, though it would have been nice if a staff person could have asked him to take it off speaker. But I won't downgrade my review as the food and staff service made up for it. read more

Was looking for something "different". This was the place to go. Awesome atmosphere, AWESOME food, and the most important, great prices. Daily's specials every day. Wednesday is 1/2 home made soup and$2 Raspberry Selter. $4 Green Tea shots. Happy hour 3-6. Most of the food on the menu I've never tried and looked delicious, which means I have to come back to try them! Also, live music on the weekends! read more

My car keeps bringing me to this place when I'm in Omaha. It is a great place for afternoon lunch with a drink.

Wonderful food and a nice atmosphere. The service is very nice as well. Love the fish and chips!

Met friends here I hadn't seen in a year. They suggested Brazen Head, which was walking distance from my hotel, so I thought it was perfect. I reviewed the menu and was ready to go. The main room really is gorgeous. I read here on yelp that everything was built in Ireland and shipped over. I assume it's true. It's definitely got great atmosphere. I tried two items for which Brazen Head is famous. 1. Creamy Baked Onion Soup - I'm not sure there's anything else to be said! Aside from some stringy cheese, which makes a soup with cheese difficult to eat, there was nothing about this soup that wasn't delicious. So smooth and creamy with a onion flavor that was not overpowering. It would have been enough by itself, but I had to try a boxty!! They all sounded so good, mostly decadent. Trying to eat somewhat healthy, I opted for the veggie. I was a little concerned it would be a letdown since it only had vegetables, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The potato pancake makes a fantastic wrap - pretty light and flavorful. I imagine most of us are used to wraps being something like a tortilla... I don't know, more of a vehicle to hold the insides in one place rather than being something that contributes to the overall flavor of the dish. The potato pancake 'takes the cake'... get it? It was good and the veggies inside really were fresh. Top all that with the Boursin cheese sauce and this was one heck of a tasty meal. Oh... it was really too much, but I ate it all. If I ever stay at the same hotel, I will definitely walk across the street to try out another boxty. If I do, I'll skip the soup. Both together was just too much... for me, at least. I just read my review after posting it and I'm amazed. Every time I try to make a numbered list I always seem to screw it up! read more

Brazen Head Irish Pub - Veggie Boxty - Pubs Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

I had booked the Robert Emmet room for my birthday dinner, and the staff took excellent care of us. A large party all on separate checks can be a pain I am sure, but it was all handled very smoothly. I ordered some appetizers for the table, black bean salsa and the fried brie. Both were delicious, though I can't say I've ever met a fried brie I didn't adore. The Bomb Pop drink is delicious, and I appreciate that we were warned about it being the "tamest" option on the drink menu. Honestly that was probably a good thing considering how many I had! For dinner, I had the veggie boxty, tasty as always. Brazen Head actually has decent vegetarian and seafood options, somewhat unexpected for pub fare. Everyone's food looked great, and I didn't hear any complaints, so I assume the carnivores among us were happy as well. Last time I visited Brazen Head, I was told the creamy onion soup was made with a vegetarian stock. This time around, I was informed it is made with chicken stock. I am not sure if the recipe changed or if they were mistaken the first time, but I am glad I double-checked. I will certainly go back to Brazen Head again, it is especially perfect for cozy dinners on cold fall and winter nights. read more

Brazen Head. An Omaha Classic. from talking with the bartender we learned the bar was made in Ireland for the location and shipped here. Always a great time the food is decent pub fare. The service is either wonderful or questionable. The patio is great to be out on but the service always sucks if we are out there. Overall though I still give it 4 stars. the fish and chips are great. the bangers and mashed are wonderful. toad in a hole is very nice. In town for business at the hospital nearby, we headed to Brazen Head Irish Pub for lunch. It's incredibly close and a nice and quiet, sit down place, great for a business lunch. Located in a bland strip mall, the historic Irish interior is a nice surprise and the environment welcoming. Service was fast. We were seated quickly, served quickly and food came quickly. Our server kept our drinks full as well! Prices were also really great, $10 or $11 for an entree. While everyone at the table had very yummy looking salads (both the mango salmon and cobb salad), I went against all my willpower and had the delicious reuben. It's an Irish pub. That justifies it right? The food was good. It wasn't outstanding, or unique or extremely memorable, but it was warm, delicious, cheap and fast. I'd definitely return, especially to try some of the Irish entrees like bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage or these boxy's I keep reading about. Our business client also said the French onion soup is to die for. read more

Went here for Corned Beef and Cabbage on St Patrick's Day. Not good at all. Tasteless. There was a-lot of cabbage. 3 potato half's. Small creamer potatoes. And a little bit of pressed Corned Beef. No carrots. Bland white sauce over it all. I really thought they would at least have real Corned Beef. So disappointed! Service was great - it's not her fault! And the ambiance was perfect for an Irish Pub. read more

I saw a positive Yelp review which mentioned the Irish specialty of boxty which I had never heard of despite a trip to Ireland in my youth. I was also intrigued by the mention of the creamy baked onion soup. I am wild for onion-flavored anything and since the friend who takes me out to dinner every month lives just a few blocks away from the Brazen Head he was agreeable when I requested the venue (we take turns selecting the restaurant for the month). When we arrived we found a table at the front of the restaurant which was sparsely seated with diners. We don't drink and we go early at 5:30pm to avoid crowds. We were provided with a cheerful waitress who sounded authentically Irish. I wanted to try a boxty and the County Cork boxty with it's Havarti and crab sounded divine except I hate asparagus. When I asked if the boxty could be made without asparagus, our waitress didn't hesitate even a breath before assuring me it would be left out. In hind sight it probably made it kind of bland and I probably would have better off with something more savory. My friend had a shepherd's pie which he appeared to enjoy but I think what he really enjoyed was watching me go into ecstasy over the baked onion soup. I was pracitically licking the shine off the dish. I can't wait go again. The only draw back I find restaurants with wood floors loud and hard to cope with talking with friends. Once I tasted the soup there wasn't much taking place. read more

Took some friends for lunch, their first visit. We ordered salmon salad, stew in a bread bowl, and a lunch special of half a sandwich with onion soup. What a great meal it was! The salad had a delicious mango dressing with a large piece of salmon. The half sandwich was toasted and just right, loved the onion soup and would get a larger size next time. The stew in the bread bowl was very good, perfect for a cold day. Top it off with great service, made for an enjoyable lunch, can't wait to go again. read more
