I actually got the steak and chicken lunch special, which included vegetables and a scoop of fried rice. My husband ended up getting their burger. There was plenty of table and booth seating available. It was about a 15 minute wait for the order. My husband's burger looked amazing. I was very close to swapping dishes! The onions were relatively large on the burger too! I did have a bite and it was delicious. My lunch special had the steak cooked medium with grilled chicken. I enjoyed the meal. The fried rice was just as I had remembered it over 10 years go! Service was fantastic. The team member at the register came over and checked on us multiple times, asking how the food is and if we needed anything else! Next time, I'll be trying out their volcanoritto!

Nothing fancy or over the top, just tables and chairs with TVs around the restaurant. They had music playing in the background at just the right volume. Loud enough that you could actually hear and enjoy it, but low enough that you could still sit across from someone and have a conversation without yelling at each other. I actually appreciated that. Now, let's get to the FOOD. We ordered the quarter chicken with rice and french fries and decided to try the papa rellena. LISTEN. That papa rellena changed things for me. I am NOT Peruvian, I do not know how to make Peruvian food, and I fully accept that somebody's Peruvian auntie may read this and tell me my description is completely wrong. That's okay! But the best way I can describe it is this delicious, crispy, deep-fried mashed potato stuffed with seasoned steak. WHY HAS NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT THIS BEFORE?! It was absolutely divine. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, and I could have easily ordered another one. Honestly, I might come back just for that. And the rest of the food did not disappoint either. The chicken was tender and juicy, the fries were crispy and golden, and even the rice was perfectly cooked. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. So yes, I walked in as the person who "doesn't really do Peruvian food" and walked out wondering where my next papa rellena is coming from. Consider me converted. I haven't had Coxinha since my last trip to Brazil last year. It's time! "Just go to a Churrascaria, I'm sure they have it!" - wrong! The Brazilian food I like to eat takes a lot of time to make and a Churrascaria can never. They have snacks/ appetizers like pastel with different fillings, Pao de queijo, bolinho, and fried plantains. They have acai bowls - the legit kind! Passionfruit juice (my favorite) and other fruit juices. You can get an entree which comes with 3 sides. You can get a Picanha sandwich if you want a more portable option. Coxinha: Gah! I missed this so much. They're the Brazilian cousin of croquetas. The dough is made with wheat flour or mashed potatoes which is then stuffed with chicken/ cheese/ beef/ shrimp then the whole thing is coated in bread crumbs before getting fried. It's hot and creamy and delicious. I got chicken which is classic. They give you sauce which is a bit spicy and I think it might be Cholula. I've never eaten Coxinha with any sort of sauce before. 4.5/5 Picanha: You can 2 slices of beef with a strip of fat. The meat is tender but it could use a bit more salt and color. 3.5/5 Pao de Queijo: Cheese bread made with tapioca or cassava flour. I've made these at home and it was dangerous because I can eat hundreds of them. The inside is cheesy and not dry despite being kind of burnt on top. 3.5/5 Their food is quite pricey for Brazilian food.

This time, however, we drove about 45 minutes to Location #4, and unfortunately, the experience was completely different. The server, Ximena, was extremely rude and unfriendly from the beginning. What was even more concerning was seeing her yell at another customer because his food had been prepared incorrectly. She told him, "Next time, order your food correctly because I will not fix your order again." That was very uncomfortable to witness. Then, when we received our own order, which normally comes with one large consomé that is split into two portions, we were given two very small consone instead. When I politely asked about it, Ximena responded very rudely, saying, "Well, I can put it in a large bowl, but I will not give you more." We never asked for more food. We simply wanted the order we normally receive to be served correctly. As we were walking out, she apparently realized that our order had been handled incorrectly and gave us a piece of flan. We never asked for flan--we simply wanted our order to be correct in the first place. That kind of customer service is unacceptable. Everyone can have a bad day, but customers should still be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, we will not be making the 45-minute drive to this location again. We will continue going to the Eastern and Bonanza location, where we have always received much better service and have never had an issue.
