After suffering from lower back pain for several years I finally mentioned it to my orthopedic surgeon as by then I was having neck pain on either side when turning my neck. After seeing the results of both back and neck MRI's his comment was "Your back is a mess) and he recommended me to a pain management and spine doctor. After some networking with various people I went to someone (Dr. Hasan) who came highly recommended by my golf partner and another friend that had similar issues that were treated with the most success she has had in twenty years. Dr. Hasan treated my neck immediately with some conventional pain relief including recommending physical therapy and supporting my idea that I get into hot yoga. After great success with that area he looked at my lower back and came up with the same aforementioned conclusion; there are several issue in that area some of which were congenital. The important part is Dr. Hasan's attentive manor during my visits, how he examines the troubled area, gives thorough explanations of treatment options, and listens to any ideas I may have for my own improvement.

After the class I felt a lot less body tightness and pain, but chatted with him about lower back pain that had been ongoing for 4 years. He informed me that he had a studio in West Stockbridge where he does body work and massage. I ended up making an appointment not having any idea what to expect. I won't try to expain what he did but after pointing out that I stand crooked he did some poking and prodding in different spots. I then stood and I was standing much straighter. I was good for about 3 days and my back went back to being sore. Being that my back had been hurt for 4 years I wasn't expecting a miracle so I went back and saw him again explaining my back was still locking up. Karden taught me a few more things after working on my muscles poking and prodding again. I am now aware of why my back was hurting and I'm more aware of body and how I carry myself. It's been about a week since my second visit and I've had no back pain at all, and in fact with the things he taught me I decided to try to get back to deadlifting which I had stayed away from for nearly a year. To my surprise, not only was I able to do some deadlifting pain free I broke my personal record pulling 405lbs with not even the slightest amount of pain.
