My husband and I went here for our first time this year. The owner ( I am assuming ) took the time to explain the different tree varieties. There was a huge selection to pick from. We ended up with a unique tree that fills our home with a smell of orange! We will definitely be back next year again to pick out a tree. The price was comparable to other local Christmas tree farms. They supplied a wagon and saw, service was quick and friendly. Most importantly, we had a great time. Highly recommend! read more

My wife and I went to Braun's on the weekend after Thanksgiving to pick out a tree. I've never cut my own tree before, but was inspired partly by the owner generously allowing me and several other avid birders onto his property over the summer to photograph a rare bird. We had a great experience. We explored two of the three large fields of trees, and ended up selecting a 6+ foot Concolor Fir. We couldn't really appreciate it while outside, but now that this tree is in our apartment, it smells fantastic! It also looks great and has nice strong boughs that support a wide range of ornaments. The price wasn't cheap, but was not unreasonable (you don't save any $ by cutting your own tree, although you do guarantee that it is fresh). The workers at the checkout area efficiently shook and wrapped it for us - it was very easy to transport. Overall a great experience - I expect that we will make this an annual trip! read more

Did you know that Michigan has more Christmas tree farms than 47 of the states in this nation? Support the local economy, the environment, and your own fun old-fashioned Griswold family Christmas, by getting a real tree from a nearby farm! Braun's worked great for us. Parking here is a bit haphazard, and possibly life-endangering. Picture a small dirt road, with cars of all types parallel parked, half on the road and half in the ditch, all the way up and down both sides of the road. There's only room for one car to squeeze through at a time. Now throw in small children, dogs, tense mothers, folks hauling large fir trees on their shoulders, and rolls of twine being tossed back and forth over the roofs of cars. Move with caution, please! When we got out of the car, we were greeted immediately by a tentative teenager in a neon orange vest. We described what we were looking for: We live in a smallish apartment, we don't have a TON of ornaments, and neither of us is particularly tall, so we were looking for something more like a Christmas bush....something like......"THAT ONE!" It was waiting for us, right smack in the front of the pre-cut section. Of course, we had to look around a little bit to be sure that it was the MOST perfect tree. Most of the pre-cuts available were 7-10 ft. tall, and we weren't quite up for tromping out in the fields to cut down our own (though maybe someday we'll subject our hypothetical children to this holiday tradition--the families we saw seemed to be having a great time, and leashed dogs are welcome to join in the adventure!) so we nabbed our perfect pre-cut. (As an aside, I'm a bit amazed that in today's litigious society, it's even feasible for a business to hand out saws to unknown folks and send them out into the woods with children and dogs. Let's do our part to keep this safe, legal, and reasonable: head out to Braun's, or any tree farm, to ensure that the sane folks will always vastly outnumber the Christmas fruitcakes!) Even though we didn't cut our own, I think we were better off getting our pre-cut tree from a farm, because it was cut, at most, a couple of days ago, not a couple of weeks ago for shipment to a lot. Prices seemed comparable to what I've seen and paid elsewhere (we paid $48 for a 6 ft pre-cut tree). Prices per foot are listed on the website (deal alert: ALL white pines are $25 per tree). Watching them prepare your tree is part of the fun: first, they stick it on a machine that shakes it vigorously, to get all loose needles off. Then they pop it through a twine baler, and hand you a neatly bundled, easy-to-carry tree that looks like a closed umbrella. The kids working there are friendly and helpful--one reminded us to put it on the car with the trunk facing forward, so the wind wouldn't catch the branches the wrong way. I don't have much to compare this place to, but it worked great for us. Just look out for the small handful of enraged christmas crazies ("Do you have some clippers I can use?" "Let me check" "THE ANSWER IS YES OR NO!"), be extra nice to the hardworking kids, to make up for the crazies, and have yourself a merry little Christmas now. read more

After calling ahead with no answer, we headed there to take some photos in front of their property. After taking a few photos, we were approached by the female owner who was very rude and disrespectful who started yelling at us to get off her property before even asking us why we were there. There was a baby at the shoot so I thought she would have more compassion but we had no luck. Tried to talk to her, but she just kept yelling hysterically. I saw some other folks posted about lousy customer service from owners so it seems to be a patter. Seriously, I love small business owners. But please, go anywhere else to get your tree and don't support mean and disrespectful people. read more

We bought one of the most beautiful, best shaped trees EVER from Brauns this Christmas. Its now December 29 and only a handful of needles have dropped. Love the service and definitely love the selection. Been going there for several years now and will keep up this tradition! read more

Worst Christmas tree ever. I was told it was cut 2 days prior to my purchase. It started dropping needles immediately, I put it into water and kept it immersed and always maintained water level. By one week, it was still continuously dropping tons of needles, and by 2 weeks it is essentially dead and dropping entire branches. Total fire hazard. I had much better results last year from Home Depot lot. No way was this tree cut 2 days before I purchased. What a ripoff. Never again. read more

New to the area, looking for a local tree farm. This is not it. Super small farm and looks like the owners gave up about 10 years ago. We really had to put a positive spin on these bunch of Charlie Brown trees to find something remotely acceptable. And the prices are the same as one would expect for a much higher quality farm. The staff was speedy and super friendly, but that was about the only good thing about this place. read more

Great place to get trees! Have been coming here for years. They are definitely in a rebuilding phase but it does take 10 years to grow a 7ft tree so you have to forgive them for that. Overall, wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

Very disappointing. U-cut selection is deplorable: poorly planted and unmaintained trees. Basically just a hook to get you to buy a trucked in trees at inflated prices. Save your money. Go to Lowe's or coscto and buy same tree with a warranty. Let me start by saying I have 30+ yrs experience with fresh Christmas trees, including on my extended family's tree farm. Braun's advertises as selling "u-cut" and "pre-cut" trees. We went here to get as fresh cut tree as possible to last us through epiphany. After spending more than an hour hiking through the property, we were disappointed to the point of being confused; to call brauns a Christmas tree "farm" is a stretch. We thought well at least we'll get one that was fresh cut on site. No dice. They truck in their trees from elsewhere, just like the big box stores. Summary? Poorly planted and unmaintained trees for sale as "u-cut" for same prices as those trucked in. Not worth it. read more

This place sucks. I went here last year for the first time, overpriced OK quality trees. I came there this year on the Wednesday at 4:00 PM and they were closed! - They're only open on the weekends? I was parked in front of the place with my kids in the car while I was on my cell phone trying to find another tree lot that was open and after about 60 seconds The manager or owner drives up in a gray Volkswagen and started harassing me while I'm in the car? He harassed me and started videotaping me and threatened to call the police - merry Christmas to you too, a -hole! Save your money, time and hassle and just go to Home Depot and buy a tree - the lady there was superduper nice, great prices and they helped me get it all ready to transport. I love supporting small businesses but not if the people who run them are nasty, selfish and mean! read more

We wanted to cut down a fresh cut tree. The selection was terrible unless you are in the market for a very small tree or a 12 foot or taller tree. Any tree left in the 6 to 9 foot range was half dead. We searched for over an hour and could not find anything. We ran into three other people who also asked us if we had any luck finding a normal sized tree. Finally, we came across a lot of nice trees that were around 6 to 10 feet only to be told that those were being saved and we could not cut them down!! Needless to say, we went to Lowes and got a beautiful tree for $44. Braun's charges $10 a foot so we would have paid about $90 for a subpar tree. We did not check out the pre-cut trees because I we wanted to cut one down. read more
