The store was having 50% of produce and 30% off everything else. This sounded good but after checking other stores like Walmart and Aldi there really wasn't any savings after the closeout prices. It's sad that the store is closing and loosing employees but Piggly Wiggly should really get more competitive on prices if they want to stay in business. The store was really nice and clean and the employees were helpful even though they knew today was their last day of business. I hope they are able to find a job that makes up for the lose. We did have a nice visit overall.

The meat department has good quality cuts, but again, add 10% and it is not a bargain. One may think that 10% is not much, but it sure is. How would you like to earn 10% on your bank savings account? Now the reality starts to set in, huh? I find that it's store brand Best Choice is typically very good compared to name brand products. The location of the store (Fort Smith) is more of a convenience than anything else.

There's also a complementary car wash along with the fueling and the site has a tub car wash to stay fairly busy. We have really become spoiled to not even having to touch the pumps for payment, as the site has touchless payment options using the Sam's Club app or your Smart phone. This is our favorite place to fuel up in Portsmouth.

To the right is the deli, fresh produce, cheese, and prepared foods. Meats, seafood, dairy, juices, and refrigerated items continued along the back end of the store. All of the center aisles were clearly labeled too, which always helpful. More importantly though, the employees were so friendly and kind. Another bonus is they carry the brand Smart Chicken.
