walmart is a dirty word. They do not pay local taxes…read more They try to control the market (definite NO-NO). Consumers are supposed to control the market. Do not say that CVs don't have collards. Just ask Tony or Phil. They will get you anything you need. They do for me. All I have to do is ask. They are the nicest people in the world and treat their employees as well. It trickles down. Their employees treat you very well too. The only thing they have not been able to get is "Welches Natural Strawberry Preserves 28oz". That is because Welches has conspired with wally-world to make it their exclusive product. However, at CVs in aisle nine they have "Polar strawberry preserves made with real sugar instead of criminal high fructose corn syrup". And it's only a dollar but a smaller container. Works out to the same price. TO HELL with both Welches and walmart for their conspiricy... The other product that is no longer available is "ORAWHEAT whole grain bread" . NO local store can get it because Wonder now owns orawheat and conspired with walmart for an exclusive. My solution; I get red wheat from Squash Blossom in 25 or 50 pound bags and grind my own flour as I need it and bake my own bread again like I used to before orawheat. TO HELL with wonder and walmart. My bread is better. CVs sells a large jar of bulk yeast and they sell "ZUKAR" which is raw unbleached sugar to feed the yeast. All forms of corn syrup is bad for you including kayro. Squash Blossom is up on Dora Road (rt-64d) in VanBuren just a few feet north of route 40. They like CVs will get anything you ask for. Just phone ahead. They are also the nicest people you want to meet. Their address and phone is; 5005 Dora Rd, Van Buren, AR 72956 (479) 474-1147 CVs phone is; 479-996-4440 Just ask for Tony or Phil They want to be your friend as well as your grocer. BOYCOTT all companies who conspire with walmart to corner a market. If we ever get an honest white-house they will all go to jail for conspiricy and violations of the "Anti Trust and Monopoly" law. CVS is GREAT PEOPLE. !!!

I've been shopping at Shelley's Grub since not long after they opened, and it's become one of my…read morefavorite places to stop. The deli makes roast beef sandwiches that remind me of the kind my grandma used to make. They also have all kinds of freshly sliced meats and cheeses, so it's a great place to grab lunch or pick up supplies for sandwiches at home. One of my favorite things they carry is real three-ingredient sourdough bread. Not the store-bought stuff that claims to be sourdough. This is the real deal. They have fresh ground hamburger, quality steaks, fresh meats, beef tallow, jellies, apple butter, and a huge selection of spices. They also have a large freezer section packed with frozen foods, including frozen tacos and many other items you won't find at a typical grocery store. Whenever they make their stews, soups, or chili, I usually grab some to take home. Everything tastes homemade and made with quality ingredients. They also carry homemade pies, cakes, and other baked goods that are hard to walk past without taking something home. What I really appreciate is that it's family owned and operated. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and genuinely seems to care about their customers. It may not be the cheapest place in town, but you get what you pay for. The quality is outstanding, and that's why I've continued shopping there. I'd rather spend a little more on quality food from a local family business than buy lower-quality products from a big box store. If you've never been to Shelley's Grub, stop in and take a look around. Grab a sandwich, pick up some sourdough bread, browse the freezer section, or take home one of their pies. It's the kind of small-town business that's worth supporting, and once you visit, you'll understand why so many people keep coming back.
