    Dünkel

Supposedly the largest bratwurst restaurant in the world. A tradition in Nuremberg is to serve small sausages. So the biggest serves the smallest. But they are delicious! A side of potato salad and sauerkraut makes for a fantastic meal. Top it off with a half liter of local dünkel and you have the best!

SauerKraut, potato salad, bratwurst, sauerBraten, potato dumpling. We're all delicious. Been here before and it's always very good. Service was very good in the dining room, and ambience was very festive and happy.

Lovely local spot in Nürnberg! We saw tourists and locals alike enjoying meals. The staff was friendly and spoke English. Our order was delivered within five minutes of ordering it. We ordered a bit of everything! I definitely suggest getting the Obatzder, Two on a fork, Ox broth, and the apple strudel. The food was delicious, and the beer was cold and refreshing. That was the best apple strudel I have ever had! The menu prices are high for the portions served, but they are worthwhile! If you want to try typical German dishes with some local charm, this is the right place for you.

Little sausage and sides. It was yummy.

After two drinks, I can say that the beer was good. The food was tasty. The price was OK service was appropriate. Great place for rest stop.

Such an amazing spot in Nürnberg! The food is spectacular and always super quick. But, we spend most of our time here in the beer garden just enjoying the beer and quiet corner of the city. I definitely suggest getting the viel schnitzel and Sauerbraten, as those are our favorites. Also, if the weather is nice a Radler is the go to drink!

Classic dish outside of my tummy.

It was cold and we were hungry so when the doors opened my wife and I bolted in for a seat. We could not have picked a nicer restaurant full of great German food. Service was good for German standards and ambience was lively and fun. We will certainly make it a point to dine here again.

100% authentic German food. Everything made fresh to order and delicious. The waiter was a little pushy and dismissive that's why this place didn't get 5 stars. Besides that the food was definitely worth it. Has outdoor and inside seating and located right in the city center.

Wife open restaurant--but we are crammed into the baking sun, like sardines left in a can on the back seat of my truck

To say the waiters are rude and that the service is horrid is a gross understatement. Their attitude is worse than my poor writing skills permit. Rather than let customers pick a comfortable area in the heat, we are shoved in a Smokey heat-filled section. My suspicion is the restaurant is run by mean spirited vegans, who want you to suffer like the bratwurst they serve.

We bought some traditional Nuremberg bratwurst from their stand in front of the restaurant while visiting the Christmas market as we were directed by a local guide as this place preparing the bratwurst in the traditional way, cooked over alder wood. Served three to a bun, and not just any bun but a crusty French roll, these finger-sized sausages were absolutely delicious-you can add mustard but even without, very tasty. One sandwich and a coke was a light lunch but oh so good. In fact I popped back later in the day for another around 4 pm.

We searched for the best schnitzel in Old Town Nuremberg and this spot beat all the expectations. Our server Alex was SO NICE - gave us great suggestions and was super fast with all our drinks and food. We have two different kinds of schnitzel that we're both bombbbb. The braumeister schnitzel was sooo good. The gravy over the spaetzel.... Unreal. Everything was just perfect and came out so fresh and so fast!

When in Nuremburg, try the Nuremburg sausages! I ordered the 6-sausage platter that came with sauerkraut and warm potato salad (made with vinegar???). My German companion mentioned that the potato salad is supposed to be cold and to contain mayo. Sausage was great, especially with mustard, but I just didn't like the sides at all. This place was open early (about 10 am) as opposed to the other bratwurst places that were planning to fire their grill starting at 11 am. At the front entrance they have complimentary charging stations to power up your Android or iPhone while you're eating. The venue is large and caters to a lot of tourists.

Just one of the dining areas. This place is huge.

Bratwurst Roslein is known as one of the largest brat restaurants, and after a hot day of sightseeing we were tired and just wanted food. The restaurant was huge and practically empty when we got a table. Despite this though, we had to flag several servers in order to get basic things (e.g. English menu, ordering, getting the bill). Food: -Mixed grill set menu (17.90 euro): This seemed to offer a taste of their signature items, which included a dumpling soup, roasted pork, sausage, and duck, and an apple fritter for dessert. There was also cabbage and sauerkraut, but the cabbage was too salty for me. The meats were just ok--nothing to write about. The soup broth was the best out of everything I ate because it had a good bone broth flavor. The apple fritter was just your average dessert with some fruit, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. -Quarter of Franconian duck (11.90 euro): I love duck, so I wanted to try their duck specialty. Unfortunately, it was a dud. The duck was pretty dry and the potato dumpling had the texture of a bland, gelatinous ball of Play-Doh. Service: -Our waitress wasn't horrible, but when you're sitting in a huge restaurant that is barely occupied, you shouldn't feel ignored by the servers. Bottom Line: I wouldn't eat here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone considering how many other restaurants there are.

This was a fun place to have lunch I recommend the 6 sausages plate with maybe a small side dish. Located offered one of the main squares

The patio overlooks the Tiergaertner Tor Platz and it was crowded like a beehive tonight. The huge plaza tree was lit up and thousands of folks enjoying their night on the patios of the surrounding restaurants, on the plaza benches, or even seated on the ground. Great ambiance all together. The staff was very attentive and we didn't seem to have an assigned server as any of them passing by checked to see if we needed anything. The menu here changes often, but also has a few staples and some innovative takes on our Franconian dishes. So we discovered Pretzel pizza... I was suspicious at first, reading the list of ingredients, but threw caution in the wind and went for the Franconian version (my friend opted for the Vegetarian). It really did sound horrible... laugen dough (which is what pretzels are made of), Schmarrn (related to sourcream, or cream cheese, but not quite the same), local brats, kraut, cheese and tomatoes. I was prepared for a nightmare... but it ended up being delicious. The pizzas were served with a mini salad topping the middle of it. The dough was nice and thin and had that typical nice chewy crust all around. The ingredients worked surprisingly well together, but could have done without the tomatoes. Visually they were a nice pop of colors, but tastewise they had no business on the Franconian Pretzel pizza. I didn't try the vegetarian version, but my friend, who is a tiny person, ate the entire thing, whereas I could only finish half of mine. So I would say she enjoyed it. I had the pana cotta with blueberry compote and was delighted to see the compote made from the small blueberries I grew up with instead of these huge overbred tasteless blueberries so common nowadays. Kudos to this place. Check it out if you are ever in the area.
