I have had Bratcher at my home a couple of times and they were great. A few days ago I had them out because my furnace was acting up. I had it set on 71 and it said it was 67 and didn't go on. By the time you came out it was back at 71. The service technician (Trenton) went downstairs sat on the floor staring inside the unit , finally touched something inside and came upstairs and said everything looked ok. My husband had to ask him to look at the thermostat. He said everything was ok. I get a $170 bill for that and guest what it's still doing the same thing. I guess thanks for nothing. We will get help elsewhere. read more

BEWARE! Gross overcharge for parts and labor. The only reason for the 2 star instead of a 1 star was because of the technician, Andrew who worked hard on our repair and it was not his fault for what the parent company Bratcher Heating and Cooling bills their customers. Bratcher cannot be trusted and will take you advantage of you. The thermostat went out over the weekend so called in a request for service on Monday. The repair technician did not have a spare thermostat with him so temporarily overrode it so the AC would work. All great so far. He quoted us $869 for a new thermostat plus labor plus he found a contactor on the compressor that needed to be replaced but the part was covered under warranty, about a 15-minute repair job. He would get the part and be back the next day, Tuesday to install the new thermostat. Tuesday afternoon received an email from Bratcher where their price was now $1,061 plus labor. I inquired about my discount because of the service plan that I pay each year and was told that the higher price was the discount price. They had me over a barrel especially after the technician rewired the AC to override the thermostat, so I approved the work under protest. Andrew returned to do the work, now the price of the thermostat has risen to $1,201.00 plus $70 of labor for replacing the part that was covered under warranty. We also paid $85 for the first day's visit. So we paid $1,271 today plus $85 yesterday for a new thermostat and a warranty repair. A new thermostat retails for $869.99. It can be purchased at Supply House for $838.39 and at Amazon with next day delivery for $685.02 with instructions to self-install. I was OK with paying a bit extra, $869 for a professional install but not OK with Bratcher continuing to raise the price to $1,201. Even with labor, which took the technician less than an hour to install and program that is a huge mark up, almost double of what you can buy online and install it yourself. Bottom line don't trust Bratcher and if you have a thermostat problem check how to fix it yourself of call another company to do the work. I saved all of the paperwork provided by Bratcher and research to prove my above statements. read more

We have had our system for three years now (new construction). We have had nothing but issues and problems. We have already had to replace an evaporator coil at 2 years and 10 months later it is down again. Super frustrating when we have paid for the maintenance plan every year. We are back down again. When my CO2 alarm went off last night, they came today and looked everything over. Fixed a minor water leak and as usual, showed me everything that happened. Think twice about hiring Bratcher: after reading many great online reviews and doing a ton of due diligence, we selected Bratcher to replace our aging geothermal unit and a reserve hot water heater tank. At first everything seemed great...a responsive, knowledgeable salesperson, all needed items in stock, and a quick installation timeline. However, when the installation began, things quickly went downhill. I learned from one of the installers (luckily) that the plan was to install four separate thermostats throughout our home to accommodate the four heating and cooling zones, and that there was not a central way to control them (a feature that we had with our old system). Instead, we would have to run all over the house, upstairs and down, to individually adjust each unit. I indicated that this was not going to be acceptable. The installer talked to the salesman, who contacted me. He offered a solution that would, naturally, cost an additional $800, which I agreed to in order to get the job done right (the additional amount eventually listed on the bill was $900, not $800, another Bratcher oversight / mistake). The rest of the installation proceeded seemingly normally. (And a quick aside to offer lots of praise for BJ and the other installers, they worked hard and solved numerous issues along the way). Later that night numerous problems developed: low water pressure, hot water quickly running our during showers (never had happened before), and the worst...the heat did not work as the temperature dropped to around freezing. We could only run the emergency heat to warm the house...all electric and very expensive to do for over 48 hours. I contacted the salesman to let him know. He indicated he would come to the house to check on things, and never arrived. He did come out the following Monday with a technician and they made some changes that finally produced heat. I learned later that week that he had abruptly resigned from the company. In the two weeks sense, BJ came back out to the house to check things out (nice guy, helpful as always). We chose to hire a plumbing company that we trust more than Bratcher (at additional expense) to further check things out. Between the two companies most issues have been resolved, but we still have greatly diminished hot water while showering. But I have no confidence that Bratcher can get it resolved. A manager at Bratcher has been in periodic contact with me over the past few weeks. Although he seems friendly enough, there has never been a "hey, we're sorry this happened to you", or an offer to perhaps reduce the bill a little for our inconvenience due to the issues that they caused, like no heat for a weekend, etc. (and this is a $27,000+ project). I now really regret that we chose Bratcher, and that we will be tied to them going forward for maintenance and warranty service as needed. So think twice, maybe three times, before choosing this company. read more

Seth came out after hours and was very professional in solving our Geo issue. He solved the issue, and even was thorough enough to contact another professional to be sure he had it right. Neat and cleaned up. I also really appreciate Bratchers emailing a photo of the technician coming to do the work. Very helpful!! read more
