Ok, 2.5 units of coolant installed - cost $700 labor and coolant, air worked 1 evening (service completed in afternoon). NO informed and knowledgeable discussion that repair would be waste of time/money and be better spent on new unit ASAP. Company SHOULD refund labor costs - definitely did NOT assist in making an informed decision but rather filling their pockets. Avoid this company unless you want to throw away your money. He gave me a final price and even had to go to the warehouse and back to retrieve the parts. Staats communicated back to me immediately and instead of offering to come out for a service charge…read morethey gave me several possible reasons why my stove burners were burning orange rather than blue. One of the possibilities was the use of humidifiers. I had just purchased and started using 2 new ones. I turned them off, waited 4-5 hours and turned on the burners. Blue flame all around. I know it cost Staats a service call but their helpful honesty solved my problem and saved me the money. Thanks Staats. You will get all my future business.

Troublefree came and serviced my central air / furnace because it was short cycling. They replaced…read morea capacitor and charged me $209 for the part. I thought that the part cost was a little high so later in the day I went on line to see what I could get that same part for and the online store listed it for $7.95. Wow! Buyer beware. After looking in to the reviews of several HVAC contractors, I find that they all jack up the prices for parts they replace. $200 - $450 for an $8 part. $500 or more for a $65 motor. Any parts they put in are easily bought locally or online for pennies on the dollar for what they charge you.

I had a washer hook-up put in by this company for an estimate of $2500. I had to call back because…read moreone of the connections leaked and I had a sewer smell coming into the room. The connection leak was caused by the connection not being tightened correctly. The sewer smell was because when they put the pipes together, they didn't put the rubber sleave on correctly (the compression sleave was bent) and it had a small gap where the smell came from. But the worse part of this install was they added $1200 to my final bill because it took them 6 hours (2 guys, three hours) to put a vent pipe through the roof. I thought the vent pipe would have been part of the estimate, but they added it in after the job was done. And it took more time than it should have, and I know this because I vented my dryer out the roof and it only took me an hour from start to finish. In my opinion the employees have no idea what they are doing. I will never hire them again.
