Ribeye burro
Brian H.

Super friendly staff. Appreciated that chips and a small side of guac is the given side & that they had three flavorful sauces to choose from. I ordered the ribeye burro and it wasn't bad. If I were to nitpick, I wish the potatoes were mixed throughout and not in one corner. I would prefer Baby Loves Tacos though for a burrito but would like to come back and try their Sunday breakfast.

If I could eat here everyday for every meal, I totally would. Everything is delicious, you can't go wrong! Fresh, flavorful, creative dishes. And the sauces! So unique and perfect. All of them complement the food so much without overpowering the dish. Not to mention- the owner is the sweetest person and all the staff are so so nice. Never had a bad experience here, and I would find it hard to believe that anyone ever would. The absolute best spot, food, and service! Thinking about that chorizo, those crisp chips, the fresh guac. Until next time my friend.

Ribeye quesadilla

Great food. Had to order two things because I couldn't decide. Everything looked good. Super friendly customer service. The lady packaged my second item so well and thoughtfully. And gave me tips on how to eat it. Cool couch to hang out on while waiting for food too. I am a happy customer

Rib eye taco

Best tacos in Pittsburgh. I am from Texas and was really disappointed when I moved here but now am happy again for I have found a place with delicious tacos :)

Tacos were delicious. We all thought the rib eye tacos were best: very flavorful and juicy. Chorizo tacos were also very good. Large servings so left very full. Nice dollop of guac on them along with spinach leaves. We gobbled down the guacamole and chips. Service was extremely friendly. Good music in the background. Brought our newborn grandchild.

Have loved everything I've had, and look forward to eating my way through every vegetarian option they offer!

Best quesadilla hands-down. The owner was phenomenal and very passionate about the food he served. I would drive out of my way to eat there.

Hands down, this is the best Mexican food in Pittsburgh and the family that owns the restaurant are the nicest, greatest people. 20/10

Taqueria El Mariachi - Steak & chicken tacos

I am so bummed about this spot. I was so excited to try them out - a New Mexican spot in Penn…read moreHills. The menu looks amazing with many different options. I called ahead to place by order and the cashier was really friendly and the food was ready in 15 min. Unfortunately, the food lacked a lot of flavor. My chicken tinga burrito was very bland which was strange because chicken tinga typically is packed with flavor. I didn't even finish it :( My husband had 3 tacos - steak, chorizo, and pastor. The chorizo was fine but the steak and pastor also didn't have any flavor. I would like to try this place again, hopefully it was just an off-day.

The wait time wasn't too long even though there were about three orders before mine. The inside is small but still enough room for a few people to eat however I took mine to go and it was still super hot by the time I got settled down to eat it. I got the beef burrito and it was good I would have preferred to to have something fresh/cold inside it though like guac or salsa. The chicken empanada though was perfect so much flavor the onions and the sauciness was perfect and it was fried to perfection. Lastly they don't label which salsa is which so I got a pinkish one that was HOT the green was mild and delish. If you're not sure just ask them

Appetizer: chips and salsa $4 during Happy Hour you choose two dips. We chose queso and green salsa. Good but both were mild. Next time we will try something with spice. Tacos: served on soft blue tortillas Chorizo & Chicken: very flavorful Chicken: my favorite with guacamole and kale. Happy Hour drinks: Tocayo Margarita $8 (delicious) Ranch Water $8 (Hubby liked this, not I) Loud, festive music playing overhead. Tables in the middle, booths along the walls. Pretty decor on the walls.

While flavor is fine, it's the same size you can buy at Chipotle for $3. Then, the queso fundido is bad. The queso isn't really melted, the flavor is missing, and they don't give tortillas to eat it with, just tortilla chips. For $14, this is really bad. The chips and salsa is again bad. The chips are so stale which is disappointing. Don't get the fajitas. I got the "mix 3" and ordered chicken and shrimp. There were 5 pieces of shrimp and a few measly, dry pieces of chicken. At $22, fajitas should also come with tortillas. But again, no tortillas are provided. Quite disappointing. Churros are decent and the chocolate ice cream is actually tasty (definitely store bought). Avoid this restaurant if you don't want to be scammed and left disappointed in the entire experience.

The owner waited on me, showed me the kitchen because I worked in kitchens before and we were talking in English and in Spanish. He is aware of the health code violations from the day before they opened and everything has been cleaned and he showed me he really cares and it was really decent of him to show me the kitchen ... All right, so back to the real deal the food was the service were amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful, just maybe put a TV or watch some football or NFL. If you want to support a local restaurant, this is the place to come. If you come around 2 o'clock you can eat with the family and it's amazing . If you're one of those types of people that look at only the health violations, you're gonna miss out on really really good food and like I said the place is very clean now...

Upon going to this place we were greeted with friendly people and we decided to sit outside. Once sat we waited a good 10-15 minutes before we got our drinks. We ordered 2 margaritas and I kid you not it was the WORST one I have ever had. It tasted like the sour mix was bad and it was so small it was NOT worth the $12 price tag. I ordered the Burria Burrito for my son. He wanted the guac and fries on the outside of the burrito. Upon getting the burrito it looked good on the outside however the inside was like mush. It was not good. The only thing he actually liked was the burrito shell. For me and my boyfriend we ordered Nachos Asada as our appetizer. It was small and used the same beef as the Burria Burrito. Then as our meal we ordered the Fajitas....they didnt even look like Faijtas..... they looked like they cooked the meat in curry or something. They had the weirdest yellow/orange color. I tasted one bite and instantly almost threw up i literally gagged. This was the worst excuse for mexican food I have EVER had in my life. The only thing that saved anything was the server being nice and comping the fajitas. I will NEVER be back though. To go to that part of town and then experience what we experienced did not make that trip worth it
