Instead of paying the regular $20-$30 per tasting, we paid $20-$30 for two of us! Highly recommend if you're planning a tasting week or weekend. Still Waters was our first stop, and it ended up being one of my favorites of the trip. The hostess was so friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We sat outside on a gorgeous day, and she brought each tastings right to us without ever making us feel rushed. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, peaceful and serene. There's a little back house (now mainly used as a bridal prep space for weddings) and lovely water barrel fountains that really add to the ambiance. Both the whites and reds were excellent. So good that I didn't even need a spit bucket. I would absolutely recommend Still Waters and would happily return on my next Paso Robles visit.

The scenery is absolutely beautiful, the staff always makes you feel welcome, and the atmosphere is relaxed and genuine - exactly what wine tasting should be. One of the best parts is chatting with owner Paul, who happens to be a fisherman like me. He's always awesome to talk to, down to earth, and clearly passionate about both wine and people. That personal touch is what keeps us coming back year after year. And the wine itself never disappoints. Their Cabernet is fantastic - bold, smooth, and consistently one of the best pours we've had in the region. If you're looking for a winery with incredible views, great people, and outstanding wine, Still Waters is absolutely worth the visit.

By the end, pretty much everyone in our group had found a wine they wanted to take home--including the ones who swore they weren't buying anything. Dennis, our Tasting Room Host, made the experience. He was warm, very knowledgeable, and genuinely engaging with everyone--from the serious wine lovers to our six-year-old--while keeping things professional and elevated. The whole visit struck that rare balance: polished without feeling formal, refined without ever feeling rushed or "in-and-out." Dennis has been with Eberle since 2017, and you can feel how much he cares about the place. He spoke about the winery with such genuine pride, and as you look around the tasting room at the rows of award ribbons from years of vintages, it hits you--this is a place with real history behind it. That sense of legacy and care is woven into the whole experience. The historic wine caves are a must, the complimentary tasting felt generous and unhurried, and the grounds have that unmistakable Paso magic--rolling hills, big oaks, golden light, and room to breathe. We even crossed paths with Gary Eberle (founder, 1979) and his sweet black poodle, Vieto--one of those authentic, only-in-wine-country moments that sums up the welcoming spirit here. If you go, ask for Dennis--he turned our first visit into one we'll plan future trips around. Good to know before you visit: * Make a reservation--it gets busy * Don't skip the cave tour (you can even taste down there) * Large lawn & games--great for kids and mixed groups * Very dog-friendly * Private, romantic tastings available in the caves * Complimentary tastings + military discount available * Plan to stay a while...and bring your camera :)

I have been there many times since seven years ago and there used to be a set of wooden stairs that I would use them for getting to the beach but since two years ago they closed that path. It changed a lot during years ago but it still beautiful. People come here for walking, bicycling, surfing, swimming, camping and believe or not they used have free WiFi there. During thanksgiving and Black Friday I decided to go to nature instead of shopping; therefore, I went to a couple places including Montana de Oro and I am glad that I did that. It's was refreshing and very nice.

I felt it was only appropriate to review one of my favorite state parks for my 1000th review…read more This park has an extensive history dating back to the Chumash Native American inhabitation. These people lived here long before European explorers arrived. The park was purchased in 1965 by the State of California and made a state park. Prior to it becoming a state park, the land was used for agricultural use as well as farming and dairy use. It consists of 8000 acres of cliffs, seven miles of shoreline, coastal plains, canyons and hills. There is such a peaceful and calm vibe that you feel as you enter the park. As you enter through this colossal Eucalyptus forrest, you are mesmerized with their size. Clouds flow through the forrest and open up to the mighty Pacific Ocean. I always feel like I am entering a different world when I come here. There are so many fun trails to hike at ocean level, mountain level etc. Abundant wildlife is everywhere. You can also just take leisurely walks and enjoy the beauty of the ocean. Plenty of places to picnic, and a small beach to hang out with family and friends. There is also a small campground but what a great place to camp! Dogs are allowed but need to be on a leash. My first time out here was back in 2021. I mainly walked the Bluff Trail and took in the wind shaped jagged cliffs, caves, and rocky shore. I then completed a long beach walk on the strand that led from the park to the shores of Morro Rock. I saw so many dead jellyfish which was odd. I also saw huge turkey vultures. The next summer I took a recommendation from a worker at a local coffee shop. He told me all about Coon Creek trail. I started on this trail but it was pretty flat and I wanted something a little more challenging. I saw a sign for Oats Peak Summit and I went for it. A steep climb but so worth it at the top. Views were incredible on this ultra sunny day. Last summer I took my hubby with me and we decided to hike Valencia Peak. Hiking from sea level up to 1,347 feet proved to be a challenge but such a fabulous reward at the top. I could have spent the day up there just taking in the 360 degree views of the ocean, Morro Bay, Los Osos, and the SLO valley in the background. We absolutely loved this hike! If you find yourself lucky enough to be visiting the central coast, be sure to check out this phenomenal state park. It's truly one of California's finest offerings. Most of all remember to pack in and pack out - LEAVE NO TRACE.

Yeah, I didn't believe it either, but then I saw a sign in their vineyard that proved me wrong. It read: "Water into Wine" And now, I'm a believer! So what brought us to this magical place you ask?? Well, besides the obvious (the wine).... It was the.... ok you caught me!! We came for the wine! Yeah, we were staying at the Ava Hotel in Paso for my wife's birthday weekend (definitely check this place out if you are looking for a beautiful spot to call home away from home) And being that we were in wine country.... We wanted a nice outdoor vineyard where our kids could be outside, run around, and get all of their energy out all while Mommy & Daddy had our own little R&R time sippin' on the good stuff. And let me tell you, it was Good Stuff! When we first arrived at Sculpterra, we already knew the place was going to be a hit as the parking lot was hoppin. And apparently we weren't the only ones that got the memo that this place was THE PLACE to be as it was just a little bit off the beaten trail from where we started out... Approximately 6 miles from "Downtown Paso" (through the city limits, down the 'ol country back roads and suddenly we were in wine country!) Prior to heading to the vineyard, we did a quick pit stop at McDonalds for the kids so they had something they liked. As for me and my wife, we opted to get some of the local fare items offered on site, cause what goes better with wine than a yummy charcuterie board? I'll answer that momentarily! But wait, theres more!!!! Upon finding a nice little table outdoors to sit and relax with our wine chilled in a bucket of ice, there was suddenly music to our ears and Love to my eyes! Yes, there was lovely Live Music being played by a band and out of the corner of my eye, I spotted a food truck serving Mexican Food from a local Mexican restaurant. Remember earlier when I said what goes better with wine than a charcuterie board? Well, if you guessed a little Mexican Food, then you are oh so right, but only in moderation! So in order not to ruin the good vibes of the beautiful vino from Sculpterra, I opted for just one taco and a cup of their poblano soup and man was it fire. The soup was piping hot and it had a kick of spice that made me spice from ear to ear. As far as the wine, the vineyards vibe and the entire aesthetic of the grounds, Sculpterra Winery & Sculpture Gardens (the vineyard was adorned with many abstract and contemporary pieces that are all photo worthy), this place checks all the boxes. The place is kid friendly as there is plenty of space, both indoors and out, with areas for the kids to throw a ball, run around, or even learn to play a g as a game of chess. A decent variety of Reds, Whites, & Blends are all up for grabs, so if you find yourself in Paso Robles with the fam or its just you and your hunny, definitely come check this place out and watch the miracle of them turning water into wine!

Being able to enjoy some of their older vintages this way makes the experience even more special for wine enthusiasts. What I appreciate most about DAOU is how they've managed to maintain a small, family-style atmosphere despite being acquired by a larger company a few years ago. The hospitality still feels personal and genuine. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the wines themselves but also about the history of the vineyard and the vision behind it. Ohhh what a difference! The nose doesn't lie. Our wonderful server, Carla, brought us a plate of garlic knots, which were so welcome as we were very hungry! We ordered the appetizer meatballs, which were as fluffy as clouds and so flavorful - served in a beautiful fresh marinara we dipped the garlic knots in. We also shared the Barbabietola salad, which I want to recreate at home but I doubt I could make as delicious a dressing. I always love to try gnocchi when I can and I was over the moon with these - lovely and fluffy and drenched in the same wonderful marinara as the meatballs - smooth and rich with just the right amount of acid - with a thick layer of mozzarella, ooey and chewy at the same time. My husband chose the Cavatelli Alla Norcia, which was as delicious as he'd hoped it would be. As hungry as we were, the portions were very generous, and we wanted to try dessert, so we opted to bring our leftovers to eat later, and ordered the tiramisu. We were surprised and delighted when Carla returned with a little cart and assembled our dessert right in front of us! (I won't give details - spoilers!) Everyone who took care of us was friendly and warm. We didn't feel rushed but the service was efficient and we were fed and done in very little time. I wish we lived in the area because I'd love to try everything on the menu - especially the pizza, as a nearby table ordered one and it looked *beautiful*! We will definitely come back when we're passing through SLO again!
