I've had my Acura RSX for 6 years now and it has never seen a mechanic... until now. I tore a transmission seal and messed up a drive axle after doing my own clutch job, which left me stranded in Daly City and leaking trans fluid onto my exhaust and pouring smoke in front of a Pizza Hut... yikes!! Living in SF, garage space to do this kind of work myself is hard to come by, so I decided I'd get a tow from my insurance and a mechanic to do the repair. I knew exactly what was wrong with the car, so it was as extremely stressful trying to find someone to trust. Kevin and his shop completely met my expectations and standards with professionalism and honesty. The job was finished within 24hrs and he even held the car overnight as I was out of town that day. After running the car for a couple hundred miles, the OEM seal he swapped in is holding up as expected and the axle is running smoothly. He also did not over-bill me needless hours - very efficient. Highly recommend this shop. Had an Acura TSX with a tricky issue, and Kevin was able to figure out and fix the problem. He ended up fixing another shop's mistaken work, and even gave me a break on the labor since I had to take it in a few times to find the issue. Unlike the other shop, he actually spent some time inspecting and driving the car to make sure the issue was actually fixed. He is great at communicating the problem and giving clear options and explanations. He really knows his stuff, and is by far one of the best and most professional mechanics I've dealt with. When you have to take your car to the mechanic, you pray that they can figure out the problem and fix it. Kevin worked on my 2009 328xi Coupe and he did a fantastic job. I took my car to a BMW dealership before I took it to Kevin and they did the diagnostic, kept the car for 3 days, charged me for it all and said nothing was wrong with the car. While the problem was hard to diagnose, Kevin took his time, figured out what the problem was and fixed it. He knows cars and thats where you want to take your car. I was referred to Kevin 6 years ago when I blew the engine in my 87 subaru 4wd station wagon. He replaced and completed other work while engine was out at a great price and that began the first time I had "a mechanic". Totally unprofessional. I came in here worried about my Subaru. The temperature gauge was all over the place and I didnt know if it was my car or the thermostat. I brought my car in and let Kevin know that I had to be at a wedding in Chico the next day. So I needed to know if my car was going to be able to make it or if I was going to have to let my cousin know I would not be attending. Kevin proceeded to tell me that it was just my thermostat and that my car would be fine to drive to Chico. I went to pick up my car the next day, NO ONE WAS EVEN AT THE LOT. I had to wait a half hour for someone to come let me in to get my car, then the temperature gauge was reading off the chart before I even got to the castro. Since Kevin had told me that my car was showing absolutely no signs of overheating and that it was fine for me to make my trip to the wedding (which i was late for since I had to wait for the lot to be opened) I continued driving as planned attributing the temperature gauge reading to my thermostat not being installed properly or something. When I got back I took it to the subaru dealership to see what Kevin had actually done. He did replace the temperature gauge but FAILED TO MENTION, a hose was leaking so my car was actually over heating and due to the fact that I had driven the car I now have a blown headgaskett and my car is essentially worthless. Kevin did it again. I recently had a front end noise on the left side of my mercedes. The dealer fixed the problem but cost me over $5,000 which included replacing ball joints, an arm, a special grease and an alignment. Luckily it was still under warranty because the bill came to over $5,000!!. Well, the warranty went out and sure enough, the right front started haivng front end noise. Murphys law stricks again. I took the car to Kevin and Kevin lubed it up and did something on the car for me and the noise went away. The cost $50.00!! Kevin is one of the most honest auto mechanic I know. My car overheated on my on my way home from work (Richmond omw to San Leandro). I brought it into Tony here at Brannan and he let it run in his shop for an hour while me and my gf got some lunch from the BK nextdoor. Came back and he let me know my fans were not working but he wouldn't know why until he worked on it longer but they were closing so he advised I leave it there for then to work on it the following day. He let me know it would probably only take an hour to figure out the problem and not much longer to fix it. He then called me the next day though to lmk that it was a little bit more complicated than he initially thought but told me he would only charge me for 3 hours of labor since he originally told me 1 but wouldn't know exactly how long it would take. He did end up working on the car longer than that but still only charged me for 3 hours like he said he would. He is a very nice guy and very patient. Kevin is very professional. I was referred to Brannan from another vendor. I needed my 97 Toyota looked at for a cross country trip. I knew I had to spend a decent amount of money to fix various things so the car could make the trip. Kevin was easy to deal with and direct about what needed to be done. He outlined for me what was vital and not as vital and even printed out all his suggestions for me to keep for reference. We negotiated a price that we both thought was fair. The car was ready when he said it would be. He is very busy, so it took a day or so longer than I thought it should be ready. When I picked up the car, Kevin offered for me to call him anytime if I had a question about the car, even though I was moving across the country. The made the trip and is doing well after putting over 4 thousand miles on it when it started around 161,000 miles to begin with. Brannan isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. The transmission on my 96 Tacoma broke a couple weeks ago. I took it to my mechanic who had it towed to another mechanic downtown. When I looked them up on yelp, the shop my mechanic had my car towed to had pretty horrible reviews so I looked around the area and that's when I found Brannan Auto Experts. I had the car towed there and Kevin told me that he would check it out give me an estimate on what it would cost to fix it, and count the $145 for the diagnostic out of the final cost of fixing the transmission, provided he was the mechanic who fixed it. He called me later that same day told me my transmission needed a full rebuild and after taxes it would be $3650 and he would be done with it in a week. I heard from Kevin a week later (right when he said it would be done) and he said my truck was ready to be picked up. I came down there and paid exactly what he told me at the time of his estimate.
