Jason did an incredible job fixing a car for me. He took time out of his busy schedule to carefully evaluate the issue, found an alternative to get the vehicle to run again. Thanks Jason again for your help! read more

Yesterday, after I had my car battery replaced, I suddenly couldn't get either of my van's sliding doors to close. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked. A friend suggested I check out a nearby repair shop, telling me they're known for excellent service, fair prices, and an amazing owner. Honestly, I thought, "Do people like that still exist nowadays?" But I decided to give it a try anyway. Sure enough, Jason--the owner--was exactly as my friend described. He took one quick look at my van, spent maybe two minutes, and somehow fixed both doors right on the spot. When I asked how much I owed him, he just smiled and said, "Have a happy holiday." I was floored. Who does that anymore? From now on, Jason has all of my car service business, and I'm going to spread the word to everyone I know (and even those I don't!). read more

I brought my 2010 Honda CR-V to Champion Auto because the air conditioning stopped working. I was told this shop has a good rating and that they do an excellent job. Julio dropped me off at my house as it'll take several hours for the job to be done. We were told my Honda needed a new fan so Julio put an after market fan. My boyfriend was able to get off work early and we were able to pick up my CR-V. So far I'm happy that my AC now works and was told if it stops working to bring it in so Julio will inspect it. Thank you Champion Auto!! read more

They did good work on my car the first few times I went back but the last time I went my car started having issues. My car started to rattle after I got it back from them and they started to do bad work. I do not recommend going here if you want your car back with no issues. read more

They are the best. Jason and his crew do great work. I have been going there for years

Stolen catalytic converter, I brought the replacement part and thought it would require custom welding to fit and they said, "No problem, this bolts right in, I'm busy -- no, pull it in, I'll do it right now," and they did! Great service, fast, friendly, affordable - I'll be back! read more

I've been bringing my car to Champion for a few years and they have always been quick, professional, honest, and reasonably priced. They don't try to upsell you, and they're one of the few mechanics that seem fully aware that people are dependent on having their cars and can't afford to have them in a shop for weeks. I've had nothing but good experiences with them and plan to bring my car to them any time I have an issue. read more

Julio did a great job with my super problematic vehicle and was very patient as it had many many problems i bought a lemon but he got it on the road an running great! read more

I took my 2005 Ford into Champion Auto in San Leandro earlier this year for an overhaul -- the car needed brakes, power, steering and was making a weirdly rumbling sound. The car had been sitting unused for several months and needed a lot of care. I went in and said, "there's a lot wrong. Can you fix it?" And they did. I went back a second time to have air conditioning fixed. The people at Champion Auto handled it all. Repairs were done in a timely manner and the cost was within the estimate window they gave me. This is the small town, do-it-all-mechanic I've been looking for. read more

To start off, I have a hard time trusting people with my car. Jason and Julio greet you with a smile every time. I recently needed a lot of work done to my M3. Throughout the whole process they were clear and descriptive on what was wrong; kept me updated the whole way. They're work was beyond anything I've seen before. They treat your car as if it were their own! I highly recommend them and they're definitely the people to trust to get your car right! read more

I was driving on the freeway and I heard something happen to my left front tire. It started to make an aggressive noise and I had to quickly pull off at the nearest exit. I mapped the closest mechanic and Champion Automotive came up. I pulled in while feeling pretty frantic on what this newfound problem would cost and with my minimal knowledge of cars I didn't want to be taken advantage of. One of the mechanics stopped what they were doing and walked over to help me. Quickly let me know the problem was my alignment had gotten so bad that it tore up one of my tires and that I was safe to drive home but needed to get my alignment fixed and 2 new tires. He didn't try to sell me on anything or lie to me. He simply gave me free knowledge and let me use it how I willed. That was some of the best customer service I have ever received and I truly am grateful. read more

The staff at Champion Automotive are kind, empathetic and responsive. Their work is prompt with the job and in getting the supplies to complete your order. I trust them as well as I trusted their dad (Jerry) before he retired! Few mechanics earn trust as Champion Auto mechanics has earned. read more

I don't know that I've ever had a mechanic I've trusted more than Champion. Reliable, trustworthy and affordable is how I would describe. I've been taking my cars to Gerry for years. Grateful his nephew Jason along with master mechanic Julio have picked up right where Gerry left off. Exceptional service. read more

It was an absolute pleasure having my vehicle repaired by Jason and the rest of the Champion Automotive team. They are very communicative with the service status and ETA for the work completion when several issues were determined after the initial diagnosis. Overall, pricing and workmanship are phenomenal from this small garage. read more

After someone recommended this shop, I took a used Prius 2006 to them for a repurchase check. Jason checked the car himself. I doubt he even bothered to put it up on the rack. If he did, he would have seen clearly the weld on the catalytic converter, obvious even though there is a shield. It's welded at the lower end and it's quite visible, indicating this is not the cat converter that belongs on this car. Jason passed this used car for purchase. Eleven months later I learn from a mechanic the cat converter is not the one supposed to be on this car and now it needs replacement, it's causing a check engine light. This is a $3500 job! Jason blew it! You could have warned me 11 months ago to say No, and PASS on this car. Do not buy this car. This is costing me thousands now! Thousands! You gave a shitty prepurchase check. What did you even look for? I say: Do not patronize this shop -- they do the least possible work, and they cannot be trusted. Either lazy or just plain careless! DON'T give them your money or time. read more

My 2008 Honda Fit was having engine problems, and I decided on the recommendation of a dear friend and former mechanic/car repair shop owner to try Julio and Champion Automotive. I am so happy that I came here. Julio was incredibly responsive and provided wonderful service. He kept me constantly informed of any issues that arose regarding needed repairs. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly the work was completed and the reasonable costs. I would highly recommend Julio and Champion Automotive! read more

I used to go to Nohr's automotive but since the owner retired and closed shop I've been without a local mechanic for our Honda CRV. My neighbor recommended I check out Champion Automotive since it is just down at the end of the street, so walk I did and got an appointment. Long story short, the owner is very nice and very experienced mechanic. Our CRV would not start easily, and so needed a diagnostic check. Great service, they fixed the problems, and very fair bill and honest about exactily what is wrong. They went over the bill line by line when I picked up the car and were very friendly. They have been in business since 1985. Glad I finally discovered Champion Automotive, my new old car go to mechanic! read more

While driving down 580 I had the unfortunate event of my truck cutting out on me. I safely rolled an exit at the next offramp and came to a stop in front of Champion Automotive. I stepped in and told Gerry what had happened. Without hesitation he headed over to check out my truck. With a few tests, checks, and tweaks later, my truck started up with no problem. He saved the day! Thank you Gerry! read more

My hybrid battery needed to be replaced in August. There were none available in California, only one in Florida (possibly). Jason was patient (I checked in with him every other week). He called the dealership to follow up on when a battery would be available. Finally my battery arrived in October and was installed. I am very pleased with the service provided by Jason! read more

I blew my tire in the freeway and roadside assistance completely messed up. I was stranded for 2 hours and started walking to find a restroom then stumbled upon this place. Gary was amazing. He put my spare on and had me out within an hour, which is before the next roadside assistance people were suppose to show up. He only charged me $40 to do the work. What a sweetie!! read more

Right when I walked into the office, Julio greeted me with a smile. Super respectful and experienced. The shop got my car fixed less than 24hr. The technicians are also nice and greet full. I highly recommend. Thanks Champion Automotive!!! read more

Julio is precise, responsive quick and friendly. For me, he's convenient too. A perfect combo.

My truck was broken into and the ignition and door lock destroyed. Julio was very supportive and accommodating to allow me to tow the truck to his shop, gave me a reasonable quote, and completed the repair work quickly. read more

I got my car towed in for a mechanical issue, and Julio was quick to find the issue. I am pleased with the service he and his crew gave me. This will now be my to-go shop, and I will continue to do business with them. The staff are very friendly and willing to work with you. Very prompt service. I am glad they were able to get my vehicle fixed. For anyone looking for an auto shop, please consider this one. You will not be disappointed. read more

Not being a patient one when it comes to replacing the headlight bulb to my Volvo, I took my car initially to Avner @ JC Tire a block away. Told Avener I had the bulb & just needed to replace the burnt out one. Being a weekday, he was a bit busy but said he could do it for $35. Waited for the weekend but Avener wasn't open so I took it to Champion. The guy took a look & said it'd cost $60. When I told him Avner would do it for $35, the guy said "Then take it to him." Smarty pants put me in a "I'll-show-him" mood. Scouted around the neighborhood & found a rinky-dink car shop on E.14th & 148th (close to small strip mall.) The coolest guy, Van, came out, took a look at the burnt out lightbulb, asked for the replacement, & VOILA, bulb replaced in 5 minutes! The cost: $10!!! He recommended that the connector also needed to be replaced but that it could wait until the next time the bulb needed replacing. That is what I call honest service. As for Champion -- NOT. read more

Gerry is fantastic and so nice! He was very accommodating. He took my car right away and offered to give me a ride home. My car was ready before he said it would be but let me pick it up at 5. The best part is he very clearly explained what he did and where my money was going. Before I left I grabbed some business cards for my family and told them they had to start going to Gerry at Champion Automotive! read more

So rare to meet genuinely nice people, but I have to give a huge shout out to Julio from Champion Auto. He went above and beyond with a call from a now new customer, me, on an early Saturday morning that my car wouldn't start. I live close by but didn't want to call a tow and graciously came to my house to help me out. When he got me going I brought my car there to get it checked out and serviced and his team was equally friendly. I'm just sorry I didn't find them sooner! read more

Wong is a fantastic mechanic. He knows what he's talking about and is very honest with pricing. I've been going here for about 5 years now, and every time I bring my car in, I leave feeling confident that the issue will be resolved, and that I'm getting quality work for a fair price. I've referred several friends to him, and they are all very happy with his work as well. There's really no other way to go! read more

We have been trusting our cars to Gerry for many years based on low cost and the ability to fix anything. Gerry and his gang of mechanic provide top notch service and stand behind their work. For example, my air conditioning system was not working at the beginning of the summer. Brought it to Gerry. He repaired the system and charged it with new freon. A couple months later the system stopped working again. I brought it into Gerry. He fixed a secondary problem in the system, refilled the freon, and charged me nothing even though I told him that I should pay him for the freon. There are not many affordable mechanics that will do that. read more

Jerry has been taking care of our cars for over 10 years. He is a very knowledgeable guy his team work fast. 786 Champions Automotive has always been outstanding. Gerry and Wong are experts in their field and always affordable prices. I can trust them with their vast knowledge and expertise. They have been in business since '85 and it's obvious why. I've been a loyal patron of this local establishment and so glad to have these mechanics to trust on. It's hard to find reliable, honest and hard-working mechanics. Thank you Gerry and Wong for all of your years of service. read more

Short but sweet, I had to take my beloved BMW 325i in for a repair. They did honest work and didn't overcharge me. Quick fixed. It is very professional shop.
