Steve is the best! I needed to rent some speakers, a microphone, and a subwoofer for my wedding reception (our budget would have gone over if we got a DJ). From the moment I first contacted him until the last interaction, Steve was professional, friendly, and very responsive. We communicated through email, text, and talked on the phone. When I went to pick up the equipment from him (he also delivers - don't worry!), he took the time to explain how everything worked, showed me all the cables, and brainstormed ideas with me for how I could set up and utilize the equipment during my wedding. He even gave me extra power cords and equipment because he wanted to make sure nothing went wrong on my big day! A few days later I tested out the equipment at home and ran into a snafu (my computer was giving off a static hum to the speakers). I texted Steve and to my surprise he called me right away to help me figure out what was wrong and talk through my options to get it to work just right. During my rehearsal I was able to explain to my groomsmen and another friend how to use the system, giving them the same detailed instructions that Steve had given me. It was fairly simple to work with, once you got the basic ideas down. I used the mic and one speaker for the ceremony, including processional songs and background music. Sounded great! I used 2 speakers and a sub for the reception and dance party. Our venue was inside an old converted hangar, the ceilings were very high and the space kinda open, so I was worried my dance party wouldn't be as bopping as I wanted it to be. After my first dance (which we wanted to be a little more mellow), we turned up the speakers and sub and had a killer dance party! It all worked out so wonderfully. The equipment worked perfectly, but more than that, I had confidence everything would go smoothly because of Steve's dedication to helping me understand everything and always being there for me when needed. Steve is amazingly easy to work with, super responsive, and doesn't charge any hidden fees. We rented exactly one Mackie SRM550 speaker that came with a tripod stand, audio cables, and a wireless microphone that came with a receiver + mic stand for $120. I was unsure of what I needed to rent for our 100-ish person wedding, but Steve helped figure it out for us. If you are playing your own music off your phone or computer, he has an auxiliary cable that plugs directly into the speaker. Otherwise, you're basically all set to go! When Steve drops off the equipment to your place (or if you pick it up from him), he goes over all the set-up, how the buttons work, and optimal speaker heights for the speaker tripod. 100% would recommend going with this company if you're looking to rent audio equipment for an event. read more

June 24th Edit: Steve of Brane Media saves the night yet again! We hired Steve to act as a supporting sound technician for a show we threw at a venue that normally has their own sound engineer. The house sound engineer didn't even show up! Steve took control of the situation, performed full sound checks for all of the acts before we even realized the house sound guy wasn't going to show up, and we had one of the most technically smooth concerts that we've ever thrown. The show sounded great! People often complain about the sound at that particular venue, but it looks like all it took was to put the system in the hands of someone as very competent as Steve. -------------------- I can't recommend Steve of Brane Media highly enough -- he's been an incredible asset to our organization, ELEVATORdown Productions. We organize concerts in the San Francisco bay area on a monthly and sometimes bi-weekly basis, and Steve has served in multiple capacities. Without him I don't think we would have been able to organize half the shows we've done. Steve has brought entire sound systems to venues for us and served as the sound engineer for the night. He's also ran house sound systems for us, and he's served as an assistant to the house sound engineer when the venue already had one. Even when the venue has a competent sound engineer and a decent sound system, we still hire Steve as our personal sound engineer to ensure things go smoothly. There's numerous times where he's stepped in and essentially saved the night by sorting out problems the house sound engineers couldn't fix (or were the cause of). Steve's worked with us on at least 15 concerts (probably more, it's hard to keep track after so many...), and he's also performed in several of them. He's a very accomplished musician, and deals with both traditional and electronic instruments on a regular basis. This gives him the ability to work sound for events of any genre. He's a very well-respected individual in the Industrial music scene because of the quality of music he's released over the years. Musicians of his caliber are uncommon in the Industrial scene. Aside from being extremely knowledgable and competent when it comes to running sound, Steve is also an incredibly upbeat, humble, positive and helpful individual. More than anything, his positive attitude is why we love having him around. I've honestly hired him on a couple occassions just for the comfort of knowing he's there in case anything goes wrong. Steve is slated to work with us on a couple shows we have booked over the next few months, so I would definitely say that I'd work with him again. :) read more

I too would love to give Steve more stars if I could. I needed speakers, mixer and a mic for my wedding. I called around and got a few other quotes that were pretty similar price wise but lacking in the care and accommodation that Steve provided. He made sure I had what I needed for the days I needed it and even came by my place to drop the equipment off and give me a tutorial on how it all worked. He made sure all my questions were answered and was available via text for any questions I had that came up even mid event. I tend to get worried or anxious with the what ifs but Steve had great follow through and made sure I felt good about everything.
