I…read morehad already explained to the tech that I had a cleaning 2 weeks ago and it was fine after she gave me novacaine. I asked her to tell Dr. Pratt that I needed novacaine prior to examination. Either she didn't do it or he ignored it. He came in and sat down without a hello or any greeting. At that time I asked to be numbed and he refused. He then took the explorer to look in my mouth and pulled my gum down hard with his gloved thumb. His thumbnail was deep into the area of pain. I asked again to have it numbed. He threw his instrument down and said "I'm done". Dr. Pratt acted like a petulant child. His immaturity astounded me. He does not listen to his patients. He does not care to explain anything. I would seriously consider another dentist. If you were at all thinking of Dr. Pratt. I have been a nurse for over 40 years and have never seen that kind of treatment of a doctor to a patient. When I wrote to him on his website, his office gave me an 8::00 AM special appointment on Monday morning to fix my tooth. By the way, he came to office with his assistant just to work on my tooth and apparently another patient who had some issue too. That is to me, compassion. This most recent visit was for a routine cleaning and X-rays. It was almost painless because of the care my hygienist took. In the past Dr Nair and her team have coordinated my treatment with an oral surgeon who placed the hardware (posts and fittings) for securing a new set of lower teeth in place. That was 5 years ago and things are going great. When I've had any problems with the fit Dr Nair goes right to work and makes the necessary adjustments. I would highly recommend Star Care Dental for anyone who needs a conscientious and highly skilled dental team to fix and maintain their teeth.

I was in one of the worst pains of my life--a botched root canal from another dentist had left me with a severe infection, completely untreated, and I was on the verge of heading to the ER, because I just lost my dental insurance and could afford what outrageous quotes my family and I were receiving from other dentist. I was desperate for relief and felt defeated, until someone referred me to Dr. Modani, and I can honestly say that it was the best referral I have ever received. After days of taking so many strong narcotics prescriptions, OTC & natural remedies-without any relief, crying, not sleeping and having family call multiple places for help, it was a dead-end. Until speaking to Dr Modani, I was finally able to dry my eyes and take a breath. From the moment I called Dr. Modani on his cell phone he immediately provided me a different relief that he would help. After a MVA left me unable to work and I solely rely on social security he made it clear that my monetary situation was not his focus and that getting me pain free was- IM NOT USED TO THAT!... I have never met a doctor that sincerely ment that and delivered a payment plan with me. He and his staff--Keisha and Jada--were unbelievably kind, compassionate, and efficient. Dr. Peggy and her assistant got me settled in quickly. After a quick x-ray, my tooth was extracted. Dr. Peggy explained each step ahead of time, constantly made sure I was doing okay, and when I wasn't we stopped and made adjustments. Never once did she admonish me for the condition of my mouth. We solely focused on the issue at hand. Checkout was painless, where I was encouraged to look a little closer at my insurance and submit my info anyway to see if any of my appointment could be covered (I submitted this info via e-mail later in the day and received a reply promptly). Before I left, Susan came by with a card detailing the next few things we might want to do (standard checkup, complete x-rays) if and when I have the chance. I was actually prepared to contact the Bureau of Consumer Protection and the State Board of Dentistry to complaint about this office. I might still do the later. The point is, that my family and I will not be returning there, and if you're a head of family who cares about them, you should pay attention to all of these reviews. They are that low for a reason, and protect your family by not taking them there.
