Prices do run on the higher side, so you definitely pay a bit of a premium compared to other options. The training classes are a mixed bag. They are a nice way to bond with your dog and let them socialize with other dogs, but in a large group setting the actual training itself doesn't always feel as effective as it could be. As for the animals in the store, it's hit or miss. Sometimes there's a good selection and other times the variety is very limited. Still, it's a pretty solid place overall with good people working there, even if the prices and training effectiveness keep me from giving a full five stars.

He was LOUDLY talking down to an older woman, completely disrespectful, and eventually kicked her out of the training area for no reason that justified his behavior. She sat there quietly while he went on and on at her, and it was honestly painful to watch. She was so shaken afterward that she could barely gather her things. What makes this even worse is that this isn't the first time I've seen him act like this. In my experience, he's consistently rude, condescending, and seems to go out of his way to make customers feel small. I have no idea how someone with that attitude is allowed to represent the store. It's embarrassing for the company and honestly disappointing for anyone who expects basic decency.

Their dog washing stations are amazing and reasonable with everything included (shampoo to use, washing tub, towels, brushes, and blow dryer included in one price). As someone with a disability, it's a big deal to be able to wash my girl in a space that will not require hours of clean up for such a resonable rate! Their shop provides me the freedom of still being able to clean my pup but not have to worry about the accidental failure of coordination destroying drywall or flooring in my own home. Joe has assembled a very knowledgeable team that treats every customer as a valued one. They are extremely personable, will know you by name, and have great products. Yes, it can get busy sometimes. But the guys are working hard...they are consultants. Everyone entering the store has a laundry list of questions and "what if's" about their aquarium (which they have all memorized as well); but they spend quality time with each person. If you're in a hurry, you're probably in the wrong hobby anyway. And they are wonderful with kids. Mine love talking with the guys, helping them sort through new crabs and snails deliveries, and exploring the dozens and dozens of reefs/tanks in the store. This is certainly one the best, if not THE BEST, fish store in Richmond. Highly recommended.

I reached out back in 2021 when my husband and I first moved to the area and received a response that they were booked for the dates I was requesting. I completely understood that as I was requesting for only a month out (it was fine, we would figure it out). I then responded looking to book for future dates but received no response back. I ended up finding an independent pet sitter for the dates I needed but thought I would reach back out a year and a half later to see if I would have better luck with a response. Again, I was told in April that they were booked solid through the end of August...I responded saying I would still like to book an initial consultation so that I would be able to request future dates. I never received a response. It was extremely off-putting that they wouldn't even take a new customer who was willing to be flexible and work around next available dates. I have now found a much more professional, friendly, and responsive pet sitting company who I have been recommending to everyone who's asked me instead. It was disappointing to say the least and I hope others have a more positive experience.
