I've been using them for over a year now, and PETS at PLAY goes ABOVE and BEYOND anything I could've expected. (Note- they only provide in-home visits for the Church Hill neighborhood). They're always there for me when I need them. They just really have incredible customer service. They've been able to do same day visits for me when I've been worried about my cats but am unable to leave work, and email or call me to let me know everything is okay. On a couple of occasions the key I left in the lockbox was faulty (have since gotten rid of this key lol) and one time I even FORGOT to leave the key but was hours away. But on these occasions they didn't just say, "Oh well, not our fault" and leave - they went to my landlord to ask to be let in so my fur babies didn't have to go without food, a litter box change, and TLC. They send an email and pictures from the visit every time they come. They let me know how the babies are doing while I'm away. And the best part is my kitties don't have to be kenneled and put in a cramped up crate in a new, scary place while I'm gone. They get to stay in the comfort of their home and get visited by familiar, loving faces. I really do feel like PETS at PLAY truly enjoys seeing my cats. From the pictures it looks like my cats enjoy them, too. I really just couldn't be happier with this business. They've saved me and been there for me so many times and are such a huge convenience and frankly necessity in my life... that if I ever considered moving, I would specifically be sure to not move out of their service area. I don't know what I'd do without them.

It is evident that she really loves Finnigan and treats him like royalty. My favorite thing, I would have to say, is getting pictures of him enjoying his day on walks or play dates with his "dog friends" and on nature hikes. Not only do I love how she treats him, but when I get home, he's actually tired! This whole company has gone above and beyond in my opinion, they are always on time, always reliable, and are even so dedicated as to walk Finnigan in the snow (ps: he loves the snow!). April is the one that runs the company, and from the first moment I met her I knew I was going to be impressed with the company. She had me fill out some paperwork (dog food, allergies, vet, vaccination history, etc)... which is a true sign of excellence in my opinion. I also love how there are multiple people in the company... for example, although Meghin is his normal dog walker, one time April ended up walking Finnigan because Meghin had to go out of town. Another time, I had to go out of town for the weekend and Meghin wasn't available, so another person was able to stay with him for the night. Another amazing thing too is that they make sure you get to meet the pet-sitter or dog walker before they watch your animals. Every single time, they have allowed for a free consultation so that each person can get to know the dog. I love this company and will hopefully be using them for a very long time. They're professional, reliable, personable, trustworthy, flexible, dedicated, and they LOVE YOUR ANIMALS LIKE THEIR OWN! Can't get much better than that in my opinion. Also, you get what you pay for... so although you can ask your neighbor to maybe watch your dog for free, you won't get the same attention to detail, customer service, quality, and kindness like River City Dog Excursions.

I went back and read that email. They didn't ask if it was okay with me, they just stated they were "required" to change my service day. The day they chose isn't convenient for me as the folks who mow my lawn would be walking in a week's worth of poop, so I cancelled. The option to choose my service day was a huge factor in me giving this company a try. They even told me I could change my day any time I wanted, but now they're telling me they only have one day a week they're willing to do the service, and that I can't change it. Update: I did send an email as requested but I was simply told my service would start up again on a different day of the week. No explanation for why a week was skipped and no explaining why they wanted to change my service day from the one I chose. This is problematic as I need to coordinate based on when the lawn mowing company comes. Service was great the first two weeks. But yesterday, I expected my third weekly visit and nobody came, nobody called. At 6:00 pm I called and spoke to a woman at their customer service number who said she would pass my message along. Haven't heard a thing. No calls, no texts, nothing. I'd really like to use the service and Chris did a great job, but it's like they've vanished. At least they didn't bill me for this week. Henry is always happy to go to the groomer, I book my appointments for the whole year in January (I book Jan the 1st week of Dec). One thing that I do think helped is on the advice when I purchased Henry was from the get go to take him in the bathroom every time I showered and used the hair dryer. The staff has even commented to me what a great boy he is when they are grooming him.
