I have been a patient at the Apollo Beach office and have never had a problem. David Budson is very professional and efficient. I go every six months due to having a fair complexion. The problem arose on my visit a few weeks ago. I was asked to update my medical history on a tablet. I came to a question asking what my gender was at birth and it offered 3 choices. I am barraged by the woke ideology on a daily basis and do not expect to be on the receiving end of it from a medical professional. I almost walked out and probably should have. When I questioned Dave about it, he asked the nurse if they really asked that. The next day I wrote to the owner on their web site and see how they could justify this nonsense. Between the caring attitude of (most) of the front staff (and really, what office has a PERFECT STAFF at this point in time let alone that everyone has a bad day once in a while?) and the knowledge and professionalism of the Dr. (LOVE Dr. Berrios!) and his staff (Kyle as a PA is the bomb!) to the wonderful chairside manner of Jenn (esthetician at Plant City and So Tampa locations only), I HIGHLY recommend Brandon Dermatology. I'm not a fan of using Healow app for communication but if I don't want to wait for that, I just call in and leave a message. I typically get a response that day or the next. I'm finding out this year by personal experience that ALL medical offices are short staffed with good employees. read more

My wife and I have been going to Brandon dermatology for years, visiting all their locations. I have nothing but the best to say about this practice. A few years ago, during a routine annual visit one of the doctors noticed something "off" on my wife's back. I didn't see a thing. The doctor ordered a biopsy and it came back as melanoma -- caught very early. Moffitt took care of it and there has been no reoccurrence. Br. Berrios detected numerous occasions of skin cancers and once resulted in Moh's surgery. NOTHING gets past the dermatologists at Brandon Dermatology. I have never had a problems with any of the office staff; we are pleasant to them and they are pleasant to us. They are 5 Stars at a minimum. read more

The check in kiosk's are more useful than the front reception desk attendants. As a business owner, I would eliminate any interaction these people have with my customers. As for the professionals in the building, they are very caring & take the time to explain. What is going on. read more

I visited their office on Henderson with the same doctor and he brought his bad staff person with him to Bloomingdale. Maybe that is the way they deal with all the old Medicare patients like me. After having Mohs surgery on 1/6/23 I was scheduled to return and see Rachel Carr 1/13 to have my sutures removed. I came in and I am assuming a nurse and her intern took a look a me and removed my stitches. Both were extremely friendly and gentle but I was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED I never saw the doctor. Rachel Carr did not come to check me or make sure I had healed properly. I was given no instructions upon leaving: Did I have limitations / restrictions / how was I to clean / was I able to massage / could I use vitamin E or any other type of skin healing agent... Literally NO THING. Rest assured I will make sure my insurance is billed as such as well. Having never dealt with this type of situation I was initially in shock and confused so I simply left the office. Within 5 minutes I tried to call back and explain my frustration with being shuttled out so quickly. Under no circumstance after having skin cancer removed should I have to GOOGLE what to do next but that is exactly what occurred as I was one of the last appointments of the day and offices closed immediately after. I was merely scheduled for a 6 month skin check and sent on my way. I will definitely be looking at other dermatologist offices moving forward. read more

Never had an issue with the doctors or the front staff. Only issue is trying to set an appointment up online as it never seems to work. Anytime I have called in, I have never had an issue with the receptionist. They always see me in a timely fashion. This is mainly for the Brandon location but I have been to the Apollo Beach location once without an issue. read more

Well, I took both my wife and son to the office. The whole service felt rushed. If you like to pay for a Dermatologist to barely look at your problem this practice is for you. At least you will be in and out in no time at all. Charged my son $95 and my wife $150 for a solid 2-3 minutes of work. Not a bad gig. read more

Dr Tobin is absolutely wonderful! I had a mysterious rash appear on my legs and torso. He even called me at home several times to inquire how I was doing and prescribe additional treatment. It took a while but my rash went away. Dr Tobon exhausted all tests and treatment until the problem was diagnosed and fixed. Absolutely wonderful! read more

Terrible rip-off. 3 weeks ago I was at this office for skin problems, prescription refills, and skin tag removal. This was my 1st visit to office. So, I received treatment from Dr. Berrios, got some new meds and was told we would address the skin tags at another appointment. I should have know then that something stinky was in the air. I just wanted 3 tags removed? So, I arrive for 2nd appointment, check-in and pay for office visit. Finally when I see the same Doctor, I show him the 3 tags I want removed and he said, that will be $150.00. REALLY. So I needed to make a 2nd appointment, pay for office visit, just for them to tell me the price. I'm not done with this yet. By the way, I really liked Dr. Berrios I contacted Blue Cross/Shield and filed a dispute for office visit. Next is the Florida Department of Health. read more

I was happy with my experience at Brandon Dermatology. I decided to look for an appointment at a dermatologist at my work because skin cancer runs in my family. I called and the very friendly receptionist got me an appointment right away. There was a bit of a wait, which was kind of annoying, but once I was in with the doctor they were nothing but professional. She was very realistic about the risk factors but also brought up the charge of the different biopsies. I am happy with the level of care I received at Brandon Dermatology and plan to visit yearly. read more

Brandon Dermatology is out for the almighty dollar. My husband went in for his yearly cancer screening, and he also had something strange looking under his breast. Gave him cream for that, but took a biopsy of a freckle. Made another appointment to get results. Didn't get good results of the biopsy, so they did another one. Then they decided to do a biopsy of the one under his breast, which included stitches. Made an appointment to get results. Freckle was not cancerous, and didn't have results for the thing under his breast. Make another appointment for the results of that. I called to get the results and they were good, and cancelled the appointment. $40.00 a pop for each visit, plus more bills for the biopsies. All this, and he didn't even see a real doctor. Looking for a new one, and having his records transferred. (I have no idea why this states I am from Kansas.) read more

Very disappointed. I was excited on going in for acne treatment as I always had problems controlling my acne. Front office is not very friendly and the doctors barely interact with you. Last time I went there the doctor told me I should just go back to my birth control... after i told them my plans on trying to conceive... so unprofessional. I feel like I wasted a lot of money just to hear that from a professional dermatologist. Next time I'll just go to my obgyn to ask for any skin problems. (I was there for over a year with NO results) they never considered changing my medication or topical treatment. But happy to say, I started using Curology and after just one week and my acne has cleared 100%(way cheaper and 100% more effective). read more

Joe a friend to her appointment at this location. The office is very nice. The parking lot seems small, but I guess people come and go so quickly that it works. Inside the waiting room is very large and plenty of seating for people like me waiting on other people. She was very happy with The the service the doctor provided. I went to get a couple of places removed. The doctor wanted to shave them off, test them, and have me back to finish removing them later. I said that I did not want to have the places shaved off and then, have to come back a couple weeks later to have the rest removed. Instead, I wanted the places removed and for the doctor to just take enough to get clear margins to make sure that he got everything. The doctor said that he would, but them just shaved the top of the places off!!! I went elsewhere to have the rest of the places removed, and I would never go to Brandon Dermatology again!!! read more

I have been going here for years and must admit most of the time it was just check ups until the day came when it got serious with a spider bite and they failed me miserably. Had a surgical procedure that was performed by an asst with clearly little experience and they did not check up on her. I did not get care instructions and no meds which became important later. The infection was not removed properly and it got worse and had to go in next day for another procedure in same place! Painful!! Then ended up with 10 days of IV antibiotics!!!what a nightmare! read more

Went for a consultation with their esthetician and was very disappointed. Seems like this person was more interested in selling her products than listening to my needs and past experience. Also when asked questions I was not satisfied with the explanation of why I should pay 425 for products that won't guarantee 100 results. I just wanted to be heard and understood ... This review is for the Apollo Brach location. If you value your time and money, do not go here. I went in because I've had severe eczema on my face for a few months. My appointment was scheduled for 3pm and I was done by 3:10. The PA came in, looked at me said I have severe eczema, gave me some samples, said don't use makeup shampoo perfume etc for 2 weeks and then go back and see her. She also called in 2 prescriptions which were approximately $284 and $1000 each. Before you ask, yes I have insurance. When I asked the pharmacist if there was anything equivalent to the prescriptions she said hydrocortisone. So needless to say the practice is in bed with the pharmaceutical companies. Overall horrible experience. The only reason they are getting 1 star is because I had to give them something to write a review. read more

Been going to Brandon Dermatology for a few years, and am fine with the PA Shannon, however, I always feel like just a number when I go in there. Today was my last time. Their automated log in system never seems to work correctly. I put my name in there and dob and hit continue and it seemed to take, but apparently there is one extra letter for my formal name, but the system didn't say that they could not find my record. I waited 20 minutes and went up the desk and the front office staff said I was not checked in and that I checked in under the wrong name, making me feel like crap that it was my fault. Then my Medical credit card was declined and I offered to pay the co pay after the fact when it was updated. They said it was not office policy and I had to pay up front. I am doing this as preventive maintenance and it is the only thing I use that card for since I don't go to the doctor except for annual checkups. Front office staff should provide solutions and make patients feel good and not just one of the masses. You just lost a patient based on poor customer service for really no reason. read more

We have been going to Brandon Dermatology since we relocated to the Tampa area. The office was close to home and so it seemed a good fit. Well I have to let people know how disappointing this practice is. My first appointment they immediately scheduled me for two biopsies that really weren't necessary and were not covered by my insurance. They didn't even bother to check. His staff is the most rude and unprofessional group I have ever met. They never smile and give you friendly courteous attention. My daughter has seen 3 different doctors or practitioners since we started and they change her meds every time like they are not sure what they are doing. It's frustrating because it's explaining her situation to a new person every time we go. I think you should think long before choosing this practice. This was my very first visit to a Dermatologist ever in my life. I did not know what to expect. I was born and raised in Michigan. Almost a year ago I moved to Brandon area to be closer to my kids and my Grands!! Almost as soon as I was unpacked and somewhat settled I developed an odd rah of sort. Bumps that were red and blistered every now and then. Come to find out I have very dry skin and also nerve damage in my back causing this rash. Odd, never had this in Mi. The staff was kind as was the Dr. I will try this new soap and lotion and see where it gets me, clear skin I hope!! Nice clean office. read more
