I stopped there to have some work done on my vehicle while on a road trip. I was given misinformation about the parts that they were putting in my vehicle, but I did not realize this until later. I thought they had fixed the car, and so I headed on my way. I started having the same problems that I was having before I brought the car to the Waterloo Brakes Plus, and so I stopped at the Brakes Plus in Davenport for them to take a look at it since the work they did at the Waterloo location was still under warranty. They inspected the vehicle at Davenport and found out there was a loose connection, and after clearing the codes and inspecting the vehicle they took it for a test drive and it seemed to be okay, except that it was idling rough. At this point I decided to turn around and go home because I was concerned that I would still be having problems with the vehicle since it was idling rough. On the way home I still had the same issues I had before I even brought my vehicle to Brakes Plus. After I had got home I called the Waterloo shop where I originally had the work done, and explained to the manager, Robert, that I was given misinformation regarding the parts that were put into my car, explained to him that I was still having the same issues, and asked if he would do anything for me. He ended up getting really upset at me, yelled at me, and would not listen to me or even recognize the fact that I was given misinformation about the parts that were put into my car. He ended up hanging up on me. At that point I called the corporate office and filed an official complaint and waited for them to call me back. Before the corporate office had called me back, I brought my car over to my brother's house who is an experienced mechanic, and we found out the part that Brakes Plus put in the car was defective. Once Gregory from the corporate office had called me back and I explained all of this to him, he apologized and said that they would be sending me a refund check and that it would take 10 to 12 days to get to me. I waited three weeks and did not see the refund check, so I called Gregory several times and he did not return my phone calls. So I ended up calling the corporate office until a person named Ryan finally called me back and promised a refund check will be sent out, and he explained that the check should get to me within a week. After waiting a week I did not see the refund check, so I started calling the corporate office several times, and ended up calling Ryan back. I did get a hold of Ryan and he finally sent the refund check which I received in the mail.
So even though I did get a refund, it took several phone calls and emails and almost 2 months to get the refund, the manager at the Waterloo location was rude to me, and they put a defective part in my vehicle. For these reasons I do not recommend going to brakes Plus in Waterloo Iowa, I would encourage others to go somewhere else to get work done on their vehicle. read more
