Brought my truck into Brake Max for a wheel alignment. My truck was pulling to the left after my wife had been using it for a year. I thought she had regularly hit curbs and drove directly into road hazards. So I believed an alignment was necessary. I had an appointment at Brake Max and they took my truck in on time. During the writeup, the manager informed me of an open recall for my vehicle. I had no idea of such recall. Told me to contact the dealership for repair. I was thankful for the heads up and referral. After about an hour, I received a call from the manager who said that the alignment was within spec, and that the tires were causing the pull to the left. They had rotated the front tires and found that the truck now pulls right. They suggested two new front tires. I arrived to pick up my truck and was told that there was no charge to check the alignment. They could have easily sold me an alignment job and told me that the tires were contributing, but they were extremely honest and told me the truth. Because of my experience with this business, they gains another customer. I'll bring my truck to them for maintenance and repairs in the future. read more

On 09.04.2026 I arrived at about 4:00PM to pick up my Honda Civic. Stephen, the store manager, was at the front counter and printed my invoice which was 31.12 more than I was quoted. When I asked why, he said there was a 31.12 charge for "shop supplies". I asked him what shop supplies cost 31.99 and he told me that most of the charge was for using the lift. I told him that was ridiculous and that I was a mechanic for 24 years and no shop I worked at or did business with for over 50 years charged customers for using the lift. I told him that would be like charging me for using the mechanic's tools. He said it was a normal charge that everyone paid. I pointed out that the invoice I received for work I had done there the previous month had no charges for "shop supplies". He looked up the invoice and found that to be true. I asked him if he could be more reasonable and reduce the charge for "shop supplies" only. He refused. I reluctantly paid the bill and received the keys. I went to my vehicle that was parked in the back lot out of view from the shop to find my vehicle unlocked and my 40.00 sunglasses that were on the passenger seat missing. In preparation for a trip to New Orleans, I had just fully serviced the vehicle. All fluid levels were in spec so there was no need to add anything to ANY reservoir. I can buy a can of brake clean, enough to clean the entire engine, at Walmart for 3.94, a box of 100 latex disposable gloves at Harbor Freight for 12.99, and a 5 pack of shop towels at Dollar Tree for 1.50. I never authorized a general inspection. I only authorized them to remove and replace the lower control arm and CV axle. He told me I needed a new battery. When I got home, I cleaned the battery posts and terminals and brought the vehicle to O'Reilly's. They tested the battery and found it to be within specs. I think 5.00 would be a reasonable charge for shop materials and I'm refusing to pay for the use of the lift. I will contact the district manager ASAP. read more

Do not EVER go there. Famous for giving one estimate and charging thousands more. It happened to me. Hard to believe they are still in business. I have NEVER heard anything good about them. Many years ago they added so much to my simple fix (things they said HAD TO BE DONE ) that I ended up bankrupt paying down their "handy" credit. Nothing but swindlers. I would not trust them to change anyone's oil. I have heard from guys who worked there that they install bad or used parts. Nope, never!!! read more

I've been to this location twice and both experiences were awesome. The first time I went I needed air in my tires and my oil level checked. They did both free of charge. Shout out to Watts for being so kind and helpful. The second time I had a taillight out. They swapped it out quickly even though I didn't have an appointment. I strongly suspect BrakeMax fakes its reviews. No one I have ever spoken to has had a positive experience with their customer service or workmanship from BrakeMax. I don't believe there is value in overpaying for parts and services that result in more expensive vehicle repairs. Brought my vehicle in to get an alignment was told $129 plus taxes of course. Upon check out, they added a $10 shop supplies fee. Asked what shop supplies went into doing an alignment. And they cannot give me a detailed invoice of what was possibly used. The guy at the checkout counter said that every time vehicle comes in. I find a disingenuous when you can't list out what was used on your vehicle for a service. Plus, it was just an alignment other than loosening some bolts and then tighten them back up. I don't understand what shop Material went into this alignment. Last time I'll be coming back here. I recommend going to a honest shop. read more

Brought a car of mine there because it was having issues keeping a charge, thought it would be a quick in and out situation because i just didnt want to figure out the problem mainly because i could guess what it was but i hate working on newer vehicles, i get a call about 30 minutes later and they tried to charge me $150 to clean my power grounds and then an additional $80 to do a oil change.. i went into the store to have a talk with them and try to figure out what and how anything like that could ever be $150 to diagnose a little problem they figured out in 10 minutes tops. the guy at the desk (bald with glasses and an attitude) wouldnt give me a straight forward answer so i got loud and he eventually admitted to being a liar and a thief and saying he has no idea what they did to the vehicle and that the mechanic had already left. Installed wrong wiper blades causing major safety issue. After having truck serviced with new wiper blades, left on trip to Utah. Driving 5 a.m. in the rain through mountain range, wiper blade fell off. Not having a safe place to pull over, drove with 1 blade until I could. The remaining blade was about to fall off & upon inspection it was the wrong wiper blade. Now windshield is damaged needing replacement also. Obviously Brake Max is not qualified for simple tasks so now it is questionable about all of their services. read more

We've been coming to this store for many years, and are usually happy with the service. Occasional bump in the road, so to speak, but usually quite good. Slow today, though. I had a 09:00 appointment for an oil change, nothing more, and had the car in 15 minutes early. The car was in the shop a little before 9. Good deal! But it was almost 11:00 before I paid and got my keys. Thats with no tire rotation. And that's too long. I reckon they are understaffed, like everybody else. Should be used to it by now! But I'm not. I've recently had some work done on my car (they did great as you can read in my other review) and they noticed that I had a few chips in my windshield and was missing the molding around it. They set me up with Scott (GlassMax), who helped me navigate a rude insurance rep and got me all set up to have a new windshield and molding installed at my house...at no charge! The glass technician, Carlos, did a fantastic job! He came when he said he was going to come, was quick and did a great job communicating. Went to have my car battery tested. State of health was 49%. State of charge was 42%. They said battery was "bad & replace". I was having NO starting issues so decided to wait. Drove the car from BrakeMax to my home garage. Twenty-four hours later, my car would not start. AAA tested it and said State of health was 0%. Per AAA, other car starting components tested fine. One battery terminal was all corroded. BrakeMax never mentioned the corrosion to me (or cleaned it off). When I called BrakeMax (before calling AAA) they said I could have the car towed there (at my expense) and they'd check it out. How does a car battery go from 49% Healthy to 0% Healthy overnight? What did BrakeMax do? I plan to use a Jack Furrier coupon for a 5 yr. warranteed battery and go there. Will never return to this BrakeMax for anything. read more

I will never take any of my cars there again. They mark up parts 2X or 3X the retail price, then charge to install the part. Example, Autolite spark plug at Walmart is $2.44, my invoice from Brakemax shows $7.99 each, plus $209 labor to install. Watch your invoice, they snuck in an extra $10 charge for a "nationwide warranty" on my invoice that I did not want, and did not authorize. After many phone calls they finally gave me a copy of the warranty. After they worked on my car, I had to take it to another shop to get several things fixed. The mechanic said they reused an old gasket that was causing the intake whistle noise. He could not confirm that they actually did all the work items on my Brakemax invoice. And Brakemax recommended that I have an additional $1468 of work done in their shop! Their shop labor rate works out to about $300 an hour, because they use flat rates for each of the tasks. I dropped $180 at BrakeMax (Catalina #10) on maintenance, and during the appointment they noted that two of my axle seals were leaking and needed replacement (an estimated cost of $240). I drove five hours home and took the car to a different mechanic for the seals to be done, but that mechanic put the car on the lift and personally showed me that the seals were dry and fine. I was out of state and my AC quit. I went to this Brake Max because they were close and had a diagnostic special. They told me my Freon was low and I had a leak. Also, I had an electrical problem that needed further diagnosis. They could give me a temporary fix on the Freon and leak for $170, and to the diagnostic for $80. Instead, I drove across the desert in the heat to get home. My husband, who does mechanic work, checked the car the next day. A relay needed replaced. I didn't have a leak and wasn't low on Freon. I have to agree with the other review that this may not be the best place for women to visit. read more

My fiancee and her Grandma took our car into this location to have it aligned after noticing the front tires were wearing extremely fast. While they did do the alignment without an appointment, what would usually be an excellent situation stops there. After doing a standard suspension check to make sure the car could be aligned, one of the employees informed my fiancee that all the shocks were orginal and had to be replaced, at a cost of 1600 for a 97 camry! To make matters worse, I personally changed the front shocks three months ago to a Blue aftermarket product that is very obiviously aftermarket. Due to legal reasons, I can't say whether the mechanic that looked at the car was blantely lying, didn't actually look at the suspension, or just doesn't know his stuff. They finally relented after my fiancee explained to them that she sat outside and watched me replace almost every part on the front end suspension. Even worse, they made no note of the torn inner tie rod bellows, or the shape of the rack and pinion, things I intend to replace myself anyways, but these two things should've have been noted while performing a front end check. The ironic thing is that they should've offered to replace these things at 1600, but they were either greedy or blind.The car did get aligned at a reasonable cost, but women beware, they'll take you for a ride. read more

I was a long way from home (Minnesota) and camping at Catalina State Park when all of a sudden my windshield wipers would not turn off, and I had no blinkers. This shop was just up the road from the Park and the guys there were absolutely wonderful. It took them 2 1/2 days to get to the bottom of the rabbit hole problem with my 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, after replacing the Multi-Function Switch and still not getting the whole problem solved. The researched online, called Dodge mechanics and other mechanics they knew, got schematics and wiring diagrams, and didn't stop until they got the problem fixed. And they didn't charge me for all that extra time, sticking to the original quote to fix the switch. Meanwhile I had a pleasant waiting room to hang out in and work on my computer, and they are located right next to a small strip mall with restaurants, a grocery store and even a nail salon (got a nice Pedicure), so I had everything I needed while I waited. I cannot recommend the team at this Brakemax highly enough, excellent service, going above and beyond, and very kind and caring! read more

Went into break max to get my jeep aligned 2 hours later the tech came out and tried telling me that I had problems with my front end I asked him if he aligned my jeep he said no so I told him to align it another hour later tech came out and said ok we got it aligned I payed them $64.45 got in and drove off on the road I realized that my jeep wasn't aligned my steering wheel was still crooked and it pulled hard to the left still so went in the next day talked to the manager/partner Jonathon Vermilye explained to him what had happened and asked for my money back he said (no I'm not going to give you your money back) so I showed him my alignment paper work and said look there is no before reading and the after reading says this (one or more values are not within specifications tire wear handling and safety problems may result) and he still said that he will not give me my money back do not use this company staff is extremely rude and unwilling to help! Oh I also filed a complain with the better business bureau they have 14 days to respond let's see if they will even do that read more
