I thought this job was going to be simple, quick, convenient, and affordable like all reviews stated, but it turned out to be the opposite. I had called a few local shops on quotes for a full brake job on my 2014 Mazda 6. Replacement on all brake pads AND rotors. Brake Pros To Go came to you (did the job while at work, home, etc.) and they had competitive pricing. Initially I had spoken to Omar over the phone. I explained what I needed and had asked him to send me a quote via text. His first text broke down the pricing. I once again clarified what I needed- replacement on all pads and rotors, a full brake job on my vehicle and asked to send a total amount quote. He quoted me including the tax, so I set up the appointment which was a little over a week out. When the technician came out, he said the quote must have been a mistake. He told me he would call Omar and see if there was something they could do to honor the price or work something out because I had showed him the texts exchanged between Omar and I. A few minutes later I received a call from Omar. Instead of an apology or a way we could work the situation out, he kept telling how he "clearly stated in the first text what the pricing would be." I told him that's why I reiterated the job I wanted done and requested a quote- which he responded to (PICTURES ATTACHED). I could tell this conversation was going nowhere and Omar wasn't going to do anything about the situation that he put HIMSELF in, so I opted out of getting my pads and rotors replaced. I thanked the technician for his time and efforts and he went on his way. I was so surprised with the lack of professionalism I received after reading all of the raving reviews. Omar even had the audicity to thank me for my business after I told him I wouldn't be getting anything done. I will never recommend this company to anyone. I had a couple of emails with Omar and sealed the appointment. They were on time (exactly) and completely the job within roughly 45 minutes. The gentleman that worked on the car was a total professional. Job done awesomely and in my driveway. I could not have had a better experience with these guys. We were able to do all of the communication through text and a few calls the day of. My Rogue apparently has a lot of options for brakes and they were excellent and communicating why the time of work would be longer, confirming my schedule, and getting the correct parts even though it involved much more driving on their end! They were very open about the work they recommended and gave me options with costs so I could make the most informed decision. I guess if this guys check your car and say that it is good and don't need brakes and rotors you need to go to the real mechanic and double check it with him. Unfortunately I was not smart enough to do so and was driving with a little noise in the brakes which was weird but this guys check them and told me that it is all fine. Couple weeks later it I could break so I called them again and one of their employees told me that brake pump or cylinder blew because my brake pads only have metal on them and destroy my rotor . The absolute best experience I've had with an automotive shop in the Walnut Creek area, hands down. The name of the technician that helped me was Mirza (spelling?). My initial thought was that my rear brake pads were worn because my 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited would squeak and chirp quite frequently. Not only did he inspect all 4 brakes, instead of just the rear, but he was honest. He told me the brake pads were actually very new so there was no need to change it. As an extra measure, Mirza even took the brakes apart and cleaned them. Nowadays it's so easy to manipulate customers into spending more than necessary, but not this company. I have to say, their service is the best service I have received in a while from any industry. I contacted them through yelp because my mercedes had a rear brake light on in the dash. Someone contacted me immediately, and we were in constant contact through messaging. Before the time of our appointment, the gentleman, Jim or James (forgot his name), texted me to let me know he will be arriving soon. As he examined my vehicle, he let me know the brake pads were fine, and do not need to be replaced. He told me he would check the sensors and see if they need to be replaced. Rear brakes on my Mdx was making loud grinding and rubbing noise, decide to reach out to Omar for a quote and mechanic availability. What an awesome idea for a company and great customer service! This is one of those services that makes you wonder, "what took so long for this to become a thing"? I called them because I didn't want to go back to where I had previously taken the car for break service, didn't want to wait an eternity to schedule an appointment, and didn't want to rent a car while my car was in the shop. I called on Wednesday to inquire about availability, spoke with a nice lady and received a text message about the next available time slot -- which was the next day and voilà -- I am confirmed. Brake Pros: * arrived on time * was within the original quote (actually a little less) * replaced the front brake pads * finished in less than an hour * checked my tires (I didn't ask them to) and filled up a tire that was a little low * helped secure hood insulation pad (somehow it came back completely dislodged and all the little brackets that hold it in place are gone after I took it in for major repair at local shop in WC)....I know I need to look under the hood more often. :/ The next time you need your brakes repaired, I would give this company a call. I called BPTG and spoke to Omar regarding service for my rear brakes on my MDX. I asked if BPTG could source Akebono brake pads, which Omar confirmed was possible. I offered to follow-up by email with a request-for-quote, in which I provided the Akebono model and part number for the brake pads, and asked for additional pricing if the rotors were replaced with a "Polycoated" rotor. I asked him to provide his proposed rotor, and to confirm if the service included cleaning and lubricating the caliper pins, and topping off the brake fluid. The following day, I received an email from Omar, with a quote for replacing the rear brake pads, as well as the additional price for the rotors, which he stated were Akebono rotors. Omar also confirmed the service would include clean/lubricating pins and topping off brake fluid. However, when I called later that day, and asked about the Akebono rotor part number--so I could look up the specs--Omar became starkly different and bothered,..stating right off "It doesn't sound like we can make you happy". I was thrown off by why he would make such an off-putting comment/have such a reaction. And then, less then 10 seconds later, he reiterated the same comment, as if adding insult to injury. I immediately thereafter thanked him for his time, and hung up on him. While Omar seemed courteous at first, what became apparent is that he unfortunately has little tolerance, which appears to be a pattern in his customer relations, as evidenced by another customer who also requested to be provided a written quote. My general observation, is that although BPTG appears to provide a quality repair service, Omar's irritability and resulting lack of sales professionalism basically soured me on the whole experience, which ultimately does a disservice to the BPTG brand image and undermines their reputation. read more

My breaks were a little squealy after having had my shop replace one of the wheel hubs and bearings. I figured I needed a brake job (new pads) on the front because I know what bad brakes sounds like. After calling my shop which quoted me a ridiculously offensive price and told me that new rotors needed to be installed every time new pads were put on (FALSE), it was time to go somewhere else. I drove behind one of the Brake Pros To Go vans driving into work and called them when I got into the office. They were quick and very responsive and we set up a time for them to come to my house a few days after making first contact. When the guy showed up (ON TIME), I gave him my key and went back in the house while he worked in the driveway. The technician rang my doorbell to tell me something quite interesting. He showed me my old brakepad and compared it to the new ones that he had brought. There was virtually no wear on the old ones. The tech told me that he could not in good faith install the new ones because it would not have "fixed" anything. He sprayed some break cleaner and applied some lube to the front pad area which had been making noise. Whatever he did fixed the problem that I had. I was charged $0 for this and felt really guilty because the guy spent about an hour without installing the new pads which I did not need. I was blown away by his honesty. He could have installed the new pads, got paid, and I would have been none the wiser. It is rare that I go into any automotive repair experience and leave feeling as if I have not been ripped off. This was one of those rare times. I cannot wait until my car actually needs its pads and or rotors replaced. They will be the first ones that I call. I am so done with my old shop. I will also be referring my friends and parents to this service. Honest automotive work is one of the hardest things to find and I can sincerely say that Brake Pros To Go will not rip you off or do services that do not need to be performed. Excellent experience with tech Jim of Brake Pros to Go. Jim was the dispatch/call scheduler the day before when I had called in, then, for the next day, was scheduled as the tech in the field in my area so was the tech for my appointment (as we had planned). Great, thorough, skillful communication from Jim both on the scheduling and estimating call and through the service appointment. I had my brakes inspected a few weeks earlier at a reputable full-service mechanics' shop in Berkeley where I had work done many times over many years and was quite satisfied. They reported I needed front brakes and rotors on my Chrysler van (while rear brakes were fine, had ample time remaining). For scheduling ease, I chose to look for a mobile brake repair option. (I'm not stating the name of the earlier inspection shop as I have not had a chance to ask them about this issue and because I have very good experiences with them many times before.) Jim alerted me in the in-take and scheduling call that it is not unusual for BPtG to hear a customer say another shop reported a brake job was needed, but, then, BPtG determines brakes not needed yet (so other shop was overly cautious or worried or was trying to generate business). I can't say why the mechanics' shop I went to first told me I needed brakes, but Jim/BPtG said he was confident that my vehicle did not need brakes yet (with details and projections of miles/time until I would need a brake job), and said it would be unethical for BPtG to replace the front brakes (and front rotors, which the other shop said was needed) just because I had been incorrectly advised by another shop and was ready to spend money on unneeded repairs. Jim as tech reported from first look at one front brake with wheel off that no brake job needed, could visually see that the other front wheel was similar condition. I asked that he examine all wheels and brakes, with wheels off, to be sure, and, as we agreed in advance, I paid for his time ($50) -- conclusion: confirmed, no brake job needed now. read more
