Brake Masters is where I go to get my car serviced, and they've consistently been great. I went in for an oil change, oil filter and cabin filter replacement. They also did their 52-point inspection, which I really appreciate having done regularly. They replaced my service tag so I know when to come back, and they reset my service light, which makes everything simple. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I didn't have an appointment, but I went in during the week at a good time and they were able to take me right away. I think I only waited about 45 minutes, maybe even less. They have coffee available while you wait, and the overall experience is always pleasant. The location is convenient for me, right on the corner of Ina and Oracle, so getting in and out is easy. Went here to get brakes inspected and an oil change. I called ahead to make sure they'd have time for me, but ended up waiting over four hours for them to change my rear brakes. No one updated us while we waited for hours on end. Once they finished the brakes, they said they heard a noise when backing up the car. They had to then remove the brakes and rotors again and reassemble it. They couldn't figure out what was causing the noise. They said they'd need to keep the car overnight so we took an uber home at our own expense. At this point the dinner I'd prepared in the crock pot had completely burned since we never planned to be gone that long and we were beyond tired. On the drive home in the uber they called to say the noise was now gone and the car was fine. We still had to wait until the following morning to pick up my car, and when we did they were less than apologetic. After paying over $600 and driving off, I realized my turn signals no longer make any sound. I then notice that my radio and Bluetooth no longer will make any noise. They clearly disconnected something while working on the car and now I am stuck with yet another problem. I told them I was planning to sell this vehicle soon and now I have another issue to get fixed. I will not be coming back here and neither should you. BUYER BEWARE! These people are inept and don't give a damn about you! You'll leave with more problems than you came in with. read more

Be careful with Ina rd Brake Masters I had a job done there and it was more than 2000 dollars about 6 months or so later I went there because it was popping and they said I had to get it checked for some other reason because it might not be the warrant. I was given an estimate of another 600 to 700 and I felt that I should go somewhere else and I went to another Brake masters well it turned out it was a warranty because it was the same job. I don't recommend this place they overcharge and do not do a good job! read more

I had an appointment at noon for an oil change. I arrived at 11:45 as I was a new customer. I got picked up and returned at 1:37. My car was still where I had left it, and the manager told me they would be pulling it into the bay soon. I consider this to be unacceptable. Sure, if I was a walk in then I understand there could be a wait. But to have an appointment at noon and at 1:37 they say they will start working on my car soon is not ok with me. Back to the dealership I go. When you have an appointment they honor the time and honestly they are usually cheaper than the stand alone oil change facilities. read more

After an inspection I was told that I needed to replace all rotors and pads for $1300+. When I told that it was a surprice they went back to the shop, returned and told that that was a mistake and only rear pads and rotors need to be replaced and it would cost $500+. But, they did not know that, day before, I myself had measured all rotors and rear pads but the front pads. In both cases fluid flush was included, though no testing was reported. I just told "thank you" and left. You can guess if I would go again to Brake Masters. read more

I really do not like taking my vehicles to a shop to have work done since I enjoy doing it myself. However today I had a 10 am appointment to have my front rotors resurfaced. At 10:45ish they pulled my vehicle into the bay. Vehicle sat about half an hour with ALL the wheels and one of my rotors off. At just before 12:30 they FINALLY started resurfacing the one they took off. I asked if they had done the other side since I had been waiting for so long already and they said no. I told them just finish the one they're doing and don't touch the other side, it's been way too long to JUST start doing one. Really just adds to me not wanting to bring my car to a shop. I would be very cautious about getting a brake job here without checking around. My vehicle was coming on 100k miles and I brought it in for free brake inspection even though brakes were performing normally. I was told I need front brakes with new rotors, as the rotors were below specs to be resurfaced. I took it to another chain brake shop that said rotors were looking good and I wasn't in need of any brake service at this time. read more

To get brakes fixed and we were charged for new rotors. Car kept making noises to our local mechanic and he said that the brake pads have not been changed. After he change the pads the car drove the way it was supposed to drive. In the meantime the car back to brake Masters and they wanted to take it and look and see what else was wrong with it. I refused to leave the car and left the place. I was glad I did. After checking with a few more mechanics in the area I made the right decision. read more

Don't ever bring your car here especially if it's a European car. I went into this location for a coolant flush as well as a break flush. Coincidentally a few hours after having my coolant flushed my coolant light came on and I had lost all my coolant. I brought my car back in and the told me a small part had gone bad right after the flush. So I had to pay them for the part, labor and more coolant plus a tow back to their shop. Amounting over $500 all together. Then they called me said the car was fixed and I picked it up. On my way home car started smoking and was dumping out oil. Brought my car back to the shop and talked to Mike who said it was a gasket that went bad and they had messed with it so because of that they replaced it. I got the car back and it continued to leak coolant as well as lots of oil even after the "repairs". After my 3rd trip to this shop and hundreds of dollars spent when all I initially wanted was a coolant and brake flush I lost faith is this shop and brought it to a Volkswagen shop. They had nothing good to say about the work Brake Masters did on my car on top of Brake Masters lying about putting in VW special coolant so I paid them for coolant twice and it was the wrong coolant for this car. I don't believe they have your best interest in mind and my car was way worse off after bringing it to this shop so now I'm paying another shop to fix the damage they caused. I called a guy that is supposed to run things. His name was Mark. He was extremely rude on the phone and 100% could tell he cared more about the shop making money then treating customers right. He was trying to tell me that those issues existed before bringing it in. I had this car into the Volkswagen dealership and had them do a full look over and diagnostic of everything on the car and they gave me a list of everything they recommended (none of which were issues brake masters said i had.He kept accusing me of lying about things. All I wanted them to do was make things right and Mark refused to help and was extremely rude. I'm a business owner myself in the Tucson area so it really upsets me when I see other business treating people like this. If any Corperate employees read this post I highly suggest getting rid of your employee Mark. He put a very sour taste in my mouth and I can 100% assure you I will never return to a brake masters again after dealing with him. If anything I'll talk as many people as I can not to go there and have to deal with the same crap they put me through. Do yourself a favor don't waste your money here take your car to a better mechanic or you'll spend way more and have more issues in the long run. Again I can't emphasize how rude Mark was. I can say all of the other employees I dealt with were nice and helpful but Mark shouldn't be in the position he's in if that's how he deals with customers. read more

I took my Lexus SUV for its regular oil change and tire rotation and met Christian who assisted me for my appointment. The service was great! Christian was so nice and helpful. He told me I needed new tires and took the time to explain to me why (wear of the tire was down to the tread line on 1 tire). On May 14th, 2pm, The man whom assisted us (did not have a name tag) unfortunately, he was very rude with his demeanor and his questions which we tried our best to explain, but he showed us frustration and then he got angry with us and argued with me in front of my child. Many reasons wrong with this place. I was told a 2 hour wait time and I had to wait almost 4 hours, then they couldn't finish the alignment due to something that needed to be done so I asked the employee helping me if he can show me or describe to me what needed to be done but he basically refused to tell me without me agreeing to have the job done by them. After not having the alignment properly done due to that reason I asked if I can get it fixed then return the vehicle to finish the alignment (I was never asked if I wanted to continue with it, they just went ahead and did it then told me about the situation) The employee said no I had to get it done there and there was no warranty because of the issue, I asked if I could at least get a discount since they couldn't finish the whole job and he said no. When I picked up the vehicle the employee was complaining about how it took his tech 2 hours to do the job but when he called stating that he started working on it and from the time he called saying it was done it only took 40 minutes to an hour. I also asked if they could grease my driver side tie rod because it was low and they agreed to do it and when I drove home I noticed they didn't even grease it. If you're going to spend 4 hours on a vehicle you might as well grease a fitting (It only takes 2 minutes) The employee made me feel like he was just trying to get my money and get me out of there as soon as possible. read more

Having to make an unplanned trip the week before Christmas I was so fortunate to get my car in and serviced here. I needed an oil change and my brakes checked, they even gave me a coupon for the oil change. With the brakes I've been having problems for a few years and no one being able to make them not squeal when backing up. The whole team is respectful and goes above and beyond each and everytime. Jay was happy to replace the A/C system on my 2004 and 2012 cars. There were no excuses made, and both of the systems were replaced with same day service. I was way overdue for an oil change and saw they had an A frame sign out advertising 50% off oil changes for only $15.99. I stopped in and asked how long the wait would be and was told it would only be about 30 minutes before they could get my car in. Two hours later my car was finally ready, for a total of $85! I did purchase a new air filter for $15, but I was not expecting to pay $85! I asked why the oil change cost so much when the sign advertised $15.99. I was told it was because my car used synthetic oil. I can't imagine that would cost an extra $50. I was already late for work so I just paid the $85 and left. read more

Place is running some type of scam,they advertise brake changes for around $99 for all brakes,took my car in for a free brake check since they are still stock and my car is almost 4-5 years old so i figured soon my brakes will need to be changed. I took it in and went to the nearby cocos to grab some breakfast while they checked my brakes, a bit later was called and told that my brakes are fine and all of them are at 12mm and do not need to be changed but that the mechanic felt vibrations so the rotors would need to be buffed out and my bill was quoted around $350+ . Now, the first problem was 1. A few years back i took my car in for a quick inspection before heading cross country,they measured my brakes at 8mm with the back ones being a bit less, so apparently my brakes magically changed themselves because I was told my brakes measured 12mm,12mm being the typical size of a brand new brake and mine are 4-5 years old. So either some good samaritan changed all my brakes to brand new ones overnight as I slept or I am being lied to. Which one sounds more reasonable? 2. I have never felt any sort of vibration from my brakes let alone anything on my car and i used to go up and down a huge hill on a daily living in the high desert which i know for sure put my brakes to work, their excuse of vibrations is just so i can drop $350 dollars into their scam of an establishment. 3. After the information was told to me over the phone I immediatley turned down their offer and said i would be back to pick my car up and to have them put the info they told me on paper. I was still midway through my food at cocos so im estimating i stayed another 15-20min after the phone call to finish up and walked back to pick up my car, I still had to wait another 30 min for god knows what to get my keys back,no work was done on my brakes and it sure as hell doesnt take 50 min to put tires back on so what where they doing back there? Anyway i eventually got my keys and got out of that place,got home and took a look over my tires and it looks like they lost one of my lugnuts because one of my chrome ones was replaced with a green plastic lookin one.... In conclusion,take your business elsewhere. I worry most that this area is near Oro Valley so they probably have been making their money off of scaming the elderly. read more
