I had an older car that need new break pads, I didn't realize how bad they were, and this place gave me a good deal. The only inconvenience was the wait. They don't do appointments, everything is "first come, first serve." They couldn't guarantee a specific time for me. One guy told me 3 cars were ahead of me, each one at 1.5 hrs (wait time). I left, ran some errands, came back and they told me someone came in, in between. Each time I spoke with someone new, and now with 2 cars ahead of me, and 2 hours before closing? I asked if they would have any time at all. It was a little frustrating but I was finally able to get my car in and leave with new break pads. I do suggest better waiting times. Maybe even a place card, if someone isn't there within 15 minutes then you take the next person? read more

This place is alright, pretty much your average brake/lube shop. The reason I am giving 2 stars is because when i took my car in to get my brakes replaced and an oil change, they gave my car back in less then perfect condition. The lever that unlocks the hood of the car was broken and the wire was hanging out. (Will upload photo) When i asked the tech about it he said it was already like that. Of course, how convenient right?? This place is not a reputable business, if your not going to take responsibility for your employees actions I will be taking my money elsewhere. the only reason I gave 2 stars is because the person at the front desk was pretty nice and helpful. BRAKE MASTERS! I feel like I should show you my dougie or start doing a six step with a moonwalk backwards. Ofcourse, Brake stands for a car breaks and not breakdancing :P. After Costco Tires screwed a bolt on way too tightly and could not rotate my tire, thank goodness a little complaining solved the problem. I hate when customers complain, so I was brief and to the point when laying down the law. I was referred to Brake Masters. This place is the shieznit! The location is hard to find because it's hidden behind some trees, but it's located on Bake Parkway between North Pointe and South Pointe (to the left side- when facing the hill on Bake). I was not in a good mood after the Costco run around. When I first walked in the Brake Master's Sal hooked me up! He was very friendly and understood my situation. He fixed a bolt fixture, that Costco had to break off. He also changed the other 5 bolts, because he noticed some wear. That is going way above my expectations. I was in and out quickly and Costco picked up the tab. My friend also came with me. Sal hooked her up with a Oil Changing and tire rotation with Synthenic Oil for about 45 dollars, because he was nice enough to apply a coupon (without having a coupon). That is more than half what most Oil Changes cost. Even Jiffylube and dealerships charge about 70 to 100 dollars for Synthenic (plus $20 for tire rotation). Brake Masters was very fast and did not try to up-sell useless services. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It felt like a family run business. I will definitely go back if I ever need car service. read more

I had a bad feeling as soon as I walked in because I witnessed two other customers were complaining that their cars weren't fixed correctly. I ended up staying because I was referred to them by America's Tire. Their pricing sign says 2 wheel alignment is $69.99 and Thrust Alignment is $89.99. I assumed I was getting a 4 wheel alignment. I watched the technician align the two front wheels only yet still charged me the $89.99. I asked the technician for a printout of the alignment and he refused and said I had to ask for it before and pointed to a small sign hidden behind him. I asked how I can know the car was aligned and his reply was I had to trust him. He also told me to go to Corporate to get my concerns addressed, so I followed his advice. The whole time I was trying to understand and get my questions answered, he gave me the worst attitude and seemed hostile like he wanted to fight. All other customers in their looked upset as well. I'm not the type to complain or seek attention and I treat others with the most respect. I didn't do anything to get this guy's attitude. Avoid going here. They weren't wearing masks for COVID. They weren't practicing social distancing and they don't care for their work and customer service. read more

Our household has gotten one brake change and several oil changes here over the years. They are efficient and are happy to answer questions from their customers - which come in all shapes and sizes. On this visit I was "upsold" to the synthetic oil, but it was only $50 (instead of $70) due to a permanent sale I think. And with 150k on the engine and plenty of miles to go of course go with synthetic. It would've been excellent if I could've applied my $5 coupon too. Sadly that didn't happen. The only improvements for this place - free coffee, working water fountain and wifi! But customer service and reasonable wait times make Brake Master a reliable place. read more

It is almost impossible to find a decent, honest mechanic these days. I needed an alignment; Costco Tires referred me to Brake Masters. Danny is so upfront and honest. He shows me where the problems are and allows taking pictures. His diagnosis is always the same as my boyfriend, who also is a car guy. His prices are VERY fair and reasonable! I had a lot of work needed, and it was 1/3 the price of what Lexus quoted me! Lexus also said I needed a new radiator because there was fluid overflow around the caps.... but nothing dripping under the car. Danny concluded the exact thing my BF said: There is nothing leaking under the car, just liquid stains around the cap. Went there because I had an emergency brake issue the previous day that I spent over $500 to fix at another shop where I was that did not fix a thing, they asked that I bring it back to have the system re-bled the next week. Took it to Brake Masters because I did not want to drive back for that, they took a look at it, completely bled the brake system, but unfortunately that did not fix my problem. So I need to go back to the first shop to re-evaluation. When I asked what I owed Brake Masters for the bleeding of my brakes, they said, "you owe us nothing because we weren't able to help you with your problem".....other than suggest that maybe the new master cylinder that was just installed may be faulty. I am pretty sure the other place will take care of me when it is all said and done, but the attitude of the team at Brake Masters has insured for all future brake work on all my cars......they got themselves a new customer! Wheel Alignment was due. I was referred to this shop by my Tire Dealer. I called ahead and was told that it would take about 30 minutes if I came in right now. Immediately went into the shop. I was checked in. About 45 minutes later my car was ready and aligned. The price I paid was fair as compared to other quotes that I got. The car drove noticeably better. Great job. I decided to also bring in my wife's car a little later. Same courteous customer service and car service. Wife's car drove noticeably better as well. I would recommend for wheel alignment and will probably be back when my cars need breaks based upon my experience today. read more

Not my first choice for an oil change. I was referred from America's Tire with a coupon. I called to make an appointment but they don't take them. They were quick to write up the ticket when I got there but it took over an hour for my car to even be taken in. I had to track down the manager to ask about my car to be told I was next. It was another half an hour for my service to be completed. When I got my car back, the mechanic had left a lovely dirty hand print in my car door. First came here for an alignment based on a referral from America's Tire and received a discount. Everything went good there so when it came time for brakes I came back and was expecting to have to replace my rotors but they told me they could salvage them by machining them and save me some money. I feel they are honest and do quality work. I had a slight vibration arise a few weeks after the install of new pads and they resurfaced the rotors for free to smooth things out. I appreciate a place that will stand by their work like that and will definitely come back plus the brake service came with a lifetime warranty so that provides a lot of peace of mind. These guys are super friendly and honest! I brought my car in because it was making a scraping noise when I brake (typically a sign of worn brakes). Brake Masters did a brake inspection by putting the car on the rack, taking off the tires and doing an actual inspection (not just driving around and hitting the brakes). They were honest enough to tell me that my brakes did not need replacing and that it was excessive dust causing the braking noise. They recommended I replace the pads when they are worn. They even rotated my tires since they were already off the car (this is a $30 service at oil change places); and all of this was FREE! I am definitely coming back to Brake Masters once my pads are worn. read more
