This place exists because people need a place to take their exams. However the people working here could improve their intake system when so many people are checking in. They could also be nicer to those who finished early. Geez, I finished my exam early and they seemed surprised as if I cheated or did something wrong. Okay now I'm just venting. I was there on 5/12/23. The staff are friendly and very helpful but maintain the strict standard for the regimented standarize testing. I would go back to this testing center and be very comfortable/relaxed which impacts significantly someone in testin enviroment. Thanks Ladies. read more

This place is an absolute mess, the employee behind the desk is so rude and loud and at one point even said "there's so many people coming in its pissing me off" to the other employee under their breath. I understand that lots of people come in to take a specialty exam but there was no clear signs on how the process was going (which is their own fault). She was so rude about it and as someone who was witnessing this, some people didnt speak english as their first language so imagine how they feel when they're being told "thats not the right process" or "didnt you read?" RUDELY with an attitude. They should have a large poster on the door that should clearly state people to wash their hands, have 2 forms of ID and fill out their form to then wait to get a picture taken and receive a locker. People didnt know where to sit or where to fill the form or how to retrieve a locker because there was no information posted. They do not greet you at the door and I can imagine for people testing they can probably hear all the noise going on outside because the lady is yelling as people are coming in. This does NOT make for good testing environment nor does it calm down an anxious test taker. I looked through the recent reviews and could not agree with a "pleasant" experience. I would have called her out on her attitude but did not want to risk being kicked out of the exam. Someone should really audit this place because I hope people see my review and change their mind about coming here. To emphasize I was observing everyone's behavior and a person who gets irritated easily does not make for a good proctor of an exam or to help navigate the process. They should either have clear signs to show each step or have other people who are PATIENT and WILLING TO HELP as the two who were there were not considerate. Sometimes you wish you had the option for not even 1 star, because some businesses and staff are that outrageous and rude. Not only was the guy that was leading the test rude to me, but everyone else who came face to face with him this morning. Treating paying customers and human beings with absolute disrespect and horrible attitude. A perfect example of someone who should NOT be working with the public in any form. After reading the 2.5 star reviews for this place, I'm not shocked. Just more disgusted. This center needs a huge makeover with it's disrespectful and straight up RUDE employees. It's unfortunate that I have to give a one star. To be honest this testing center deserves zero stars for customer service alone...I have been to this testing center twice and each time I was met with the male worker with a terrible attitude. I simply walked in the door and before I could even say anything and without any greeting, I was told to turn around and look at the door for the bathroom code to wash my hands. I could barely even hear the guy through the mask so I asked again and with an attitude he repeated himself. I went to the bathroom and came back and sat in the designated seat. A female worker came out of the testing area and I again was met with attitude when she asked me if I was showing ID or papers. Why hire people who make it clear they don't like interacting with people? I hope management reads these reviews. You need to hire staff who are personable. I will never give any of my money to Brainseed in Alexandria ever again. read more

The facility is a bit small and a little older. We had to wait in the hallway outside the suite while they accepted people in groups to enter the center to check in. The hallway wait wasn't more than 10 minutes but it can add to test day nerves. The ladies bathroom down the hall has 2 stalls and with a 10 minute break for a 4 hour test (GRE) there was some concern that time could be lost waiting, but it turned out not to be a problem. They provided standard orange foam earplugs but there was still a good deal of background sound. There are tiny lockers for you to place your phone and snacks. They provide the locks. The area was crowded because larger backpacks were left on the floor stacked up against the lockers. read more

Unfortunately, I did not have a pleasant experience testing at this location. The new "proctor" was testing us for the first time and had no one else there to assist her so she was on the phone for 30 mins fidgeting with the testing system. I gave her the benefit of doubt because it was her first time but then we were given no breaks during our TEAS session and conversations were heard loud and clear from the lobby. It was very distracting when others were still testing. It really took the cake when she proceeded to collect pencils and paperwork and slide in chairs loudly when there were still people finishing up in the room. I was hoping that by going to a legit testing location, there would be less distractions and more professionalism. To my disappointment this was not the case, I will no longer be doing my business here from now on. Hope this helps people to steer clear if you are taking a extremely serious exam like mine, because the extra expense was definitely not worth it. read more

Terrible staff. All very unfriendly and unhelpful. We went through some technical difficulties at the center and they didn't care at all. Weren't understanding or kind, tried to just kick us out of the center. Would definitely not recommend this testing center unless they get new staff. read more

I'm pretty happy with this test-taking center. They have a private parking lot with plenty of space you can chill out in before you go in for your exam. The building is old but the center itself is hip-ish. There is a coat rack, and water cooler, and lockers in the waiting room; you'll be asked to turn off your phone when you put it in the locker. The bathrooms are outside the office but nearby; I appreciated the bathroom door codes being listed in multiple places, although the screen could probably be put to better use giving instructions or something. The staff is much more down-to-earth than my particular test warned me about, and let me start before my appointment technically began. There are a few different testing rooms. Since my test was open-book, I got a large desk with the computer in the middle. They supply each test-taker with earplugs. I have two minor complaints. First, it got sort of noisy. Even with the earplugs in, I could hear the conversations in the waiting room. I was tempted to go out and say something. The doors to each testing room are mostly glass and are very thin. I also imagine that my fellow test-takers were not happy with my shuffling of papers, but I couldn't do anything about that - maybe they shouldn't put computer tests and open-book computer tests in the same room? I wonder if test-takers can bring their own earplugs. Second, when I came out for my break the staff wasn't always there. I needed to know whether it was okay to take extra paper and had to wait for someone to come back to ask them. The waiting room is filmed so I didn't want to get disqualified for doing something wrong that I thought was okay. read more

I highly recommend people having a bad experience go to this agency's website and send them an email of their experience with the unprofessional, rude employee they have checking people in. I'm not sure why that individual is so angry and disrespectful that early in the morning to people just trying to take an exam and be on there way. Brainseed Testing leadership really needs to take a better look at their employee standards and perhaps do a better job advocating a more friendly work ethic and environment especially for a position in customer service. I strongly recommend AGAINST using Brainseed. This place is dangerous to your health. I would avoid. A pity because the people running it seemed fine though not fully aware of Covid precautions. What's good? The place seemed clean. It had lockers. The two staff seemed nice and the young man I interacted with clearly made an effort in his work which I appreciate. What's bad? They pack testees into a small room so they're 2 feet apart. 2 feet! Can you believe it? We're supposed to be 6 feet apart. There are 18 desks with computers for test taking.There were no perspex barriers between desks and the room was small. The only space left in the room was the pathway to get to the desks. When I noticed there were only 2 desks vacant a new testee entered to make it 17 plus the proctor was in and out. The proctor seemed nice but was a foot away from me when I had some questions and his mask covered his mouth but not his nose. I was truly shocked when I entered Brainseed offices. Absolutely no awareness of Covid except to ask people to wash their hands before entering. I'm an older guy and this lack of care for people's safety is dangerous. If they're packing people into unsafe conditions whose to say they're cleaning pencils, calculators keyboards etc. I decided to get out as quickly as possible so I raced through the test. It was the MD Real Estate licensing test. I passed the General & failed the state portion. I needed 21 correct on the state part but got only 20. I'm not going to tell you I would definitely have passed if the conditions were heathfull but I've been pretty good at finding my errors on practice tests - of which I took many- by reviewing at the end. No review this time! I felt I had to rush through the questions & did not review at test's end. One last point and this reflects on PSI not Brainseed. PSI allows only 1 sheet of scratch paper on a desk. If you need more you have to request it and TURN IN your scratch paper that you've marked up. If you want to review your work at the end this is more difficult because you cannot keep you marked up sheets of scratch paper. All in all this has been a bad experience. read more

I am waiting to get my money back and I doubt I will be able to get anywhere with them without making a big stink, which I HATE to do. Completely incompetent and unorganized. I get it, most people who are here aren't really here because they're is a plethora of choices for testing but this one is actually one of the more logically run testing centers I've been in. The biggest issue being that it is very small (especially the check in area) so at times there are 5-10 people just standing around waiting to get processed to start their tests. There is a restroom, water, mints, and lockers for everyone. If this same operation were in a bigger space, it would likely be very well rated. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. I am speechless about how bad my experience was at Brainseed Testing Center. Worst testing experience of my life. Me and about 30 other test takers waited for a half hour outside of the testing center due to overflow. Not even inside of the office space... we were sitting on the hallway floor outside of the elevator! Ridiculous that you pay $300 for a test you study months to take to have to sit in the hallway to wait. When a few of us asked to go in and ask for an answer; we were rudely dismissed before even asking the question and were told "go back outside, thanks". DO NOT TEST HERE. This place should be shut down. It's clearly not equipped to serve as a place people take some of the most important tests of their lives. read more

In agreement with most of the comments on here. One staffer was super rude and very unprofessional and actually yelled at me because I brought my phone into a testing room so I could use a verification code to get into my email account. I wasn't even taking the test. The staff were constantly maskless and spent more time ordering red lobster than actually helping me. Ultimately, the computer worked fine and I was able to complete the test and get out of there. I suggest to whoever is in charge, please actually enforce masks for the staff and encourage a respectful environment for clients. read more

I had an exam in San Jose, CA. Me and 3 other candidates showed up to our exam with the door locked and dark inside. No proctor. We waited for 2+ hours. We weren't notified of a no show and given no reason as to why no proctor showed up. When I called the headquarters they couldn't help. Very unprofessional & concerning that this is a legitimate company considering they provide exams for national state board exams and GRE. read more

Show up early, like more than the recommended 30 mins. Parking lot is under construction. Test center is on 6th floor. Check-in didn't really follow the procedures. Test room was warm and humid. Computers are old and running vulnerable operating systems. The application that deliveries the test crashed while I was taking the test. They say you can't leave your seat and they have you under surveillance, but no one came with me flaying arms like I was on invisible fire for 3 minutes... had to walk out and catch the dude not 'on post'. Could have been dealing with other computers going down. All that aside, the two guys running the place while I was there were friendly enough. Overall, convenient for those who are local, just happy I don't have to take standardized tests here very often. read more

Terrible staff. Incredibly rude and slow. The guy literally yelled at me and told me I looked foreign (!) and asked me if I had my greencard.They said my American driver's licence or my passport is not enough, they had to see the card and when I finally brought it from my car they said I was lucky they let me take the test...!!! Of course that started an argument. They then kept me there for a long time to take a photo and fill in some basic information which caused me to start 15 minutes late. The lady didn't let me take the GRE codes of the schools with me and said she would send my score to those schools after the test, and she did not! The test room was extremely cold and the lights were really tiring for the eyes. The lady kept coming back and fort into the room during the test which was highly distracting. Overall their ignorance and mean behavior affected my performance. I took another test after this one and that test center in Dupont did not even ask for my greencard. They were simply making things easier for everyone and the whole experience was completely different. If you need to take the test, don't waste your energy at this center, try somewhere else. read more

I had a test (9am) at Brainseed Landmark Building Center. In the sign-in room I was asked by your employee for my driver license to sign in and begin my test. After I finished my test I asked for my Real ID ( which is equivalent to the U.S passport by law from October, 2018). I was told that my ID was lost and they will mail it to me when they find it. I felt as though someone had violated of personal privacy, and later was told that it had been - as my ID had been given to someone else. How I was supposed to drive home without a driver's license... and since when has your company promoted that it is ok to drive without a driver license? For the fact, my ID was given to the wrong person and they tried to blame the girl to whom they had given it. Isn't it your responsibly to check the first and the last name before you give an ID back? A second employee came into the room and told me I have two options: leave and wait until they find and mail me my ID and or wait there until they find it. He was was pointing and yelling at me, in the testing facility, which I believe is very rude and disrespectful. I've never been to a business that treats customers this way, to endanger my personal information then so flippantly and disrespectfully tell me to 'shut up and leave'. Your business should seriously consider having a form or something that acknowledges if/when a license is misplaced. Therefore, taking responsibility for a mistake. You should never, EVER yell at a customer - let alone a female, alone, being berated by your 2 male employees. I am unbelievably surprised that no one has filed litigation against you for telling your customers to drive home without a license - illegally, and continue to do so until you are able to locate and send it to them. This is negligent on so many different levels, and very irresponsible. Lastly, train your employees to understand what customer service (and just plain common sense) is; and, get rid of the ones who can't seem to get it together. You should be apologetic and considerate of your customers, not hateful, irresponsible and negligent. read more

I am so excited, I don't know where to start. I tested yesterday for my Nurse Practitioner exam. I was originally schedule to test at another location closer to my house on 5/1/2020, they called and cancel my test the day before. I had too much anxiety to delay my test, so I prayed about it and I went online and the closest test center with the earliest test date was Brainseed Testing Center which was 1hr and 30 minutes from my house. My test was schedule for 1pm. I arrived very early, went in to make sure I was at the right place. I was greeted by Mr. James and he answered all my questions and I went back to my car. When I came back up at 12:30, there was no wait, only 3 people, he process all of us quickly and we got started. He was available when we needed him for any questions not related to the exam material. After taking the exam when I came out, my anxiety took over, as Mr. James printed my result, I couldn't even sit down, he asked me was I ok I said I do not know, I don't feel like I pass, he said well you passed. I told him please don't lie to me. He repeated again you passed and handed me the paper and surely it said PASSED. I was still in shock. He said congratulations. The test center was clean, neat, comfortable and welcoming. There are lockers, I didn't use it because most sites do not have a locker, I left everything in my car. Super unprofessional! Due to the prediction of a snowstorm, I called the day before to confirm the snow cancellation policy and was told that the website would be updated if there was a cancellation. The morning of the test I called multiple times with no pick-up, and there was nothing on the website. Since I didn't want to lose my test fees, I went ahead and drove in the snowy mess. Upon arrival, there were 10 people sitting in the hall waiting and more people continued to arrive. Nobody was in the office. Ten minutes before our scheduled test, we simultaneously received an automated call that for our safety, the testing session was canceled. Test-takers are expected to be there a half hour early, but they can't cancel more than 10 minutes before the test? So disrespectful and unprofessional! read more

I would put less than 1 star if possible. Disgusting filthy place. I went tues July 30 to take test. I had bottle of water with me. Receptionist threw key on desk and told me to put everything in locker when I asked 3x about bringing water in she ignored me. I finally said I need water for medical reasons she had the audacity to ask me for a letter from a dr, nothing about water posted or emailed Then she refused to let me take test even after I put water in locker. I called police but to tell you the truth I think this was a case of discrimination I being white and American. I am going to see an attorney read more

Please deeply consider testing elsewhere. They practiced social distancing really well, but that was about the only thing they got right. I went to take my literature CLEP there, which is two parts but they only administered one, claiming that they didn't know they had to order the second part. They said they couldn't do anything about it since their manager was out of town then asked me to contact their manager. I did so, and he asked me to text instead of calling but then ignored every single one of my messages for 3 days straight (but they all said 'read') and blocked my number. I emailed, asking him to order the essay booklet so I could finish my test, and he ignored that too. On the 3rd day, I went back to the testing center (their office phone doesn't work so I had to drive back up there), the same nonchalant employee was there telling me she couldn't do anything but that her secondary manager would call me the next day at 10am (surprise: she never did call). On the 4th day, I called the manager using an app that lets you change your number (since he blocked me), and lo and behold he answered! I told him that his staff, as well as him, had been avoiding me for 4 days in a row. He first said that he had a staff member text the CLEP admin to figure out how to order the essay (lie number one, you cannot text the CLEP hotline). He then said that "in 8 years, no one has ever had to take a CLEP essay at his facility and that nearby testing centers don't do it either". I told him this was false since other test centers that I called were able to provide the service, and at this point he got angry and cut me off and told me that 'if I did not let him continue his conversation, he was going to end the call'. Mind you, this is the manager and owner of the center talking to me this way. He eventually offered me a refund after rambling on, which I accepted.
