I have been meaning to post this review for about 6 months now. I have been taking my girls to her shop for about a year now and this is the longest we've stuck with the same braid stylist. All of my girls seem like her. My youngest says she's a little heavy handed, and her head is sore afterwards, but she says she can tolerate her better than the last person. At first lola was located in a smaller suite in the back of the complex. But her current space is up front. Her prices are reasonable, and I appreciated that she sold products in her suite. It keeps me from having to run to the store. She also sales chips and cold drinks in her salon which was nice one day because we were there for a while. Since it is a suite salon, I like that she doesn't Overbook and it's just us in the salon, vs a lot of chatty adult conversation. read more

This salon is located inside a multi-business suite style building. Lola's space is on the first floor, the space on the left as you enter. The space is small and every inch is packed with hair, hair products, miscellaneous items, etc. It is a very junky unkept space. Lola had some type of mix up with the Groupon appointment schedule and arrived late for my appointment. It took her a few minutes to get settled which further delayed the start time. Once she got started it was on!! She braid very good and super fast. It took about 2.5 hours to complete my hair. I really like the style and will definitely go back. **she is very heavy hand and braid EXTRA tight. I have been going to Mrs. Lola for over a year and I must say she is worth the 45 minute drive.She has helped with the growth of my hair. My hair was at first one inch around the back and sides and maybe two inches at the top. Now my hair is on my back (when flat ironed). Her work is neat, quick and consistent. She also works 7 days of the week (which is great for my schedule). She is very kind and patient with her clients. Her work is very professional. She has a positive vibe as well as the one stop shop. She doesn't deserve a star at all...Worse experience of my life! I'm visiting from another state and trusted her with my hair after being disappointed by a previous hairstyle from a different hairstylist. She did a good job with my best friend and her auntie hair that I just knew she would deliver for me as well. I went for crochet box braids and the job she did for my braid pattern was less then acceptable. She didn't have the hair that I needed on hand so I end up spending 70 on hair by itself at the local beauty supply store. After she finished installing the hair I tried putting it up in a bun and you could see my real hair sticking out the back of my head because of how poorly the braids were installed and how poorly she tried to tie them down with hair yarn. Not to mention I went to the hair store for 10 bags of 20" pre braided hair and once I ran out she decided to fill in those spots with 14" pre braided hair (yeah I didn't understand why a professional would do such a crazy thing) I expressed to her how I wasn't satisfied with her service and she instantly showed the real her. She became defensive and didn't want to redo my hair. Her assistant at the time (Whitney) offered to redo my hair because she agreed that my hair was done very poorly and the braid pattern was off. But when it was time to deliver on her promise, Lola stepped in and told her that she didn't have time to fix my hair. I asked Lola if she could even refund me at least half since I really didn't have to pay her since I didn't like my service and she made sure to tell me (in a rude manner) that she doesn't give money back even if the customer isn't satisfied. I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone I love. Not only because she did a poor job on my hair but because she was very unprofessional and didn't even try or want to fix the problem she created.
