I Called Them Up To Make An Appt. & The Lady Answered All The Questions That I Had, Which Was Good Because I Was So Nervous To Go To Someone New. I Was Able To Make An Appt. Last week I was in a rush to get my hair done for vacation so I went to the first person I could find under short notice which was Braids & Glam in Brockton. My hair came out nice in pictures...but I was not satisfied at all with the whole process or the after-math. The stylists were unprofessional and kept making comments about how the style I wanted was taking too long and it would take forever to do. She even said she hopes no one else comes in to ask for the same style... I've had box braids, faux locs and plenty protective styles before and I've never had someone pulling my hair that hard to the point I had to ask for tylonel. Mind you there was 2-4 people doing my hair at once to rush the process so I had my hair being pulled in different directions for 6 hours. I kept saying it was tight and I kept holding on to the root of my hair and she said it's "supposed to hurt a little." When I asked to leave my edges out for the 50th time, she said they were "too long" and I might need to trim them...never had that issue with another stylist. Now it's been about 8 days and sadly I have to take them out because i can't take the itching and red bumps all over my head, even after I've been using olive oil to soothe it. From what other stylists have told me, this could be from the hair being too tight or because they didn't rinse the synthetic hair which is full of chemicals. Disappointed that I had to spend $280 (very overpriced) for that type of service and hair I barely got to enjoy. read more

I went to get twists done on Saturday and it came out gorgeous and was done in about 4 hours. Aurelia greeted me right when I walked in and showed me where the hair was. She also made suggestions to what she thought i should choose. This is one of the best experiences I have had at a braiding salon because most do not have good customer service. My only complaint is the wash and blow dry process was not good because the lady that washed and blow dried got my face wet and blow dried my face. In the future I will probably just go in washed and blow dried because the actual braiding experience was very good. They hair isn't too tight or heavy and Aurelia listened to any concerns. The pricing was also very reasonable. I hope she continues to provide the service I experienced because she will have a regular customer on her hands! read more

Horrible customer service. Very argumentative!!! I wouldn't send my dog there!!! I have never seen such poor work in my life!! They have unlicensed braiders working in that shop. Half of the pictures on line are photoshopped!! NEVER AGAIN!! I'm currently filing paperwork to get my money back, instead of arguing with the owner of an establishment, who can't admit her staff needs to be trained and licensed!! Update: I'm updating my review. Aurelia reached out to me after my previous review, was very understanding and apologetic and gave me a refund. The customer service was noteworthy and I appreciated it. Been here twice now. First time, I sent pictures of the style I wanted and was assured it could be done. I left without getting what I wanted, but I let it go because I wasn't particularly picky about it at the time; it could have been much better but at least it wasn't terrible. My hair looked worn after two weeks, so I became terribly dissatisfied at that point. Second time, I asked for faux locs which began to unravel the day after I had them done. I called and Aurelia was kind enough to agree to retwist the locs and properly seal them. Barely one week later, the locs are unraveling and the hair looks like it was done months before. Not worth the ~$170 I paid to get it done. Utterly disappointed both times. I will not be back. read more

I have been to braid & glam the past couple times to do my hair. She is very helpful in scheduling my appointment. I told her I was unable to make it due to a family emergency and she began yelling at me and make me feel stupid. She began telling me it was my fault that she reserved the whole morning for me. I cancled within 24 hours. She proceeded to tell me I always cancel. I have never called and not showed up for my appointment. True first time I was even waiting an hour for her to show up. Cheap hair salon in Brockton but if it doesn't surround by her time you can forget it. I will not be visiting this salon again. I will gladly take my business else where. If she can't have the respect to respect me as a customer then her lost. read more

I took my girls to get their hair braided. The stylists were very fast and the braids were neat. The hair shop is nice as well. I specifically asked that the edges be braided(don't like hair left out on edges) and that was what I got. The price is the best I have seen for braids in my environ. Braids typically cost a fortune but I couldn't believe how much I was asked to pay for two kids!.I will be going back. I would give this place a 5 star but I have to drive almost 25mins to get there. Please don't waste your time getting your hair done at this place. Very unprofessional and unorganized. Just because you pay your deposit does NOT mean that your "booking" is confirmed. They will book you,take your money and then you have to be "lucky" if there will be anyone there to do your hair. It's like playing the lottery. The "owner", Grace (if that's her real name) is full of excuses as to why I was booked & paid my deposit but no one could do my hair including herself because she was on "vacation" and also "sick". She had me under the impression that she would be doing my hair when in fact she knew that she herself would not be able to do it because she would be on "vacation". Her excuse was that she told another girl to do my hair but that girl was "sick". No one ever contacted me to tell me this. I contacted her the day before my appointment as a reminder to not forget about my appointment and that I would be arriving early. I got no response back but the message said "seen" Her excuse was that she never saw the reminder message and that it must have been her kids playing on her phone. Mind you I book this appointment 2 weeks in advance and was texting with her and told me I was all set. The owner had laundry list of excuses. All the excuses sound like lies to me. Just be transparent and keep it 100. Stop booking clients when you know that you are not able to do their hair. read more

If I could give this a zero star I would , As a black woman I always try to support my African American woman in the hair industry to start off when I went in there i was getting faux locs done by one lately I believe the owner and then she told me I needed more hair , I thought it was enough hair after going to a hair shop and asking other hair stylists if it would be enough for the style and they told me I had more than enough , when I got there half way done with my hair the stylist told me I needed more hair I wasn't too mad even tho I had to go to the other side of Brockton for the hair , by the time I came back it was now the owner and a young girl doing my hair then just the young girl , the faux locs were very thick to the point I couldn't put it in a ponytail which was important to me because I was a sever at the time , it did seem like they were rushing to get my hair done when it was finally done I went home and found that pieces were already falling out I said to myself it's okay maybe one was lose after I kept seeing more and more fall out when I went on vacation , I reached out to the owner and said if I could just get a discount my next visit and she told me I couldn't get a discount because it was a full service and she could only touch up the front , she also told me that faux locs only last 2-6 weeks depending on my hair texture ..... I was confused by that when I took them out myself they were nodded 3 times with my actual hair ! So much of my actual hair fell out ! and it was going different directions and they were combining one loc to another loc making it very painful to take out . read more

The first time I went here last month I was satisfied with my hair but a few days later it turned out to look like shit. Looked very messy after a couple of days. Also..she was running late so I was waiting outside in the cold for 20 mins. The last and final time I went in was today and I could not believe how unprofessional the owner was. I booked an appt to to have my braids taken out and have a wash and set with a trim but the owner was too busy laughing and chatting with a client while braiding her hair so she didn't even take my braids out. And plus she had another client waiting to get her hair braided but she left to get braided somewhere else after waiting for 5 hrs! As soon as the client left..the owner was talking shit about her in front of everyone. Some lil chubby girl took my braids out and did a terrible job washing and blow drying my hair. The owner came up to me finally and said she wouldn't be able to do trim because her client was so late so it messed up her other appts. She didn't even care that I was pissed and she didn't even care about the other client walking out. She just cares about getting paid.All her attention was to that one client she was braiding. I almost walked out with out paying! I will not be returning here ever again. Save your money and go somewhere else read more

I'm not going to hold anyone, but yelp needs to allow zero rating for businesses because Braids & Glam does not deserve even a one star rating! To be honest I would not normally go to a "salon" of this stature, but I had a job interview in the next couple of days and my regular hair stylist was booked up. So when I arrived at Braids & Glam I needed my dreads to be washed, retwisted, and styled. After getting my dreads washed I was expecting them to dry my hair but instead I was told to sit in the chair to get my hair done (no towel no hair dryer), so when she began my hair I was soaking wet, but after a while of waiting for a towel I had to ask for two towels which did not help. To make matters worst when she was doing my hair she stated that she doesn't even do dreads! So after 2 hours she just got up and left (my hair was not done ), I had to wait for the other lady that was dealing with another client to get my hair done, so she had a little girl take that client to finish my hair! When she finally finished retwisting I asked her to style my hair she told me she doesn't know how to do styles so I had to go elsewhere to get styled! After two days my dreads started to untwist and I got sick from having to sit in soaking shirt. I paid 100 dollars to get sick I would not recommend anyone going here for dreads! read more
