DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. These are horrible, angry people to deal with. Hired to clean out an apartment at our building, he (Brad, I assume) was horribly unpleasant to deal with. He told the tenant to block the elevator (the ONLY one in the building) from others by manually holding the door-open button for hours. Thus, my girlfriend, who uses a wheelchair and was extremely ill, couldn't get up to our apartment. Even after she banged on the door many times, he wouldn't let the elevator come down. I went up to ask him to let us use the elevator (again -- there is only one elevator, and she couldn't use the stairs because she is paraplegic) and he yelled at me. He refused to let the elevator go until he had fully loaded then unloaded it. My girlfriend was close to passing out, she was so ill, but he still wouldn't let her use it. Then, while unloading the elevator, he slammed the main glass building door so hard I thought it would break. Both myself and another apartment owner there shouted "Hey!" we were so shocked. He also propped the main building door open and left it completely unattended for a long period of time, leaving our building exposed to potential theft and worse. I removed the door stop and he swore and put it back again. When the strata council (of which I am vice-president) received his handwritten invoice, he complained that the apartment was that of a "hoarder" and he had to pack things up to move them. Um, isn't that exactly what a junk removal company does? Based on our experience, I'd recommend you NEVER use Brad's Junk Removal, unless you want to be shouted at and have your building left vulnerable. We have lodged a formal complaint against this business with the Better Business Bureau (#1262142). read more

I had a last minute emergency and needed a couch removed and I was calling around to see who could dispose of it for me on the same day. Unfortunately for me, it was beginning to look like same-day removal wasn't possible. So I called this company and hoped whether or not they could do it. He sure could. He was so enthusiastic, telling me his rates are competitive, he's quick, been around for along time, etc. that I don't think he realized he was practically talking to himself for a good couple of minutes. No problem, I told him I'd give him a call back because I had to double check if the price was alright with my mother. "Heh, seriously? All that time spent. Why not just say no?" Wow. Excuse me, but I had asked simply for the price of a service and whether or not it was possible to have the service completed the same day. I didn't ask for a 3 minute long phone informercial. You could have answered my question in three words: a yes or a no, and the price. My mom gave me the OK to book them, but no way in hell did I give him a call back with the attitude he gave me. Rude, unprofessional and pushy. Looks like I'm not the only one who think this guy has a temper. read more

We had a lot of varied things to dispose of including a large old treadmill. Brad and his crew quickly dismantled the equipment, removed and replaced a door needed to get the device out of our room and did not damage the walls! The worst customer service i have ever had. I had not used his services before and was inquiring about them and when i called to ask question he kept interrupting me constantly. Very rude, abrasive, and nasty temper. He continued to say how he had to call me back due to static and then when i did call him back and continued to chat he then abruptly interrupted me again and said he would call me later as he couldn't "stand the dog barking in the background, its just killing his ears". He repeatedly kept telling me to go to his website, how he makes his own hours... YET he wouldnt be able to come to my house after 3... No customer service and very nasty on the phone. I wish that I had read the reviews before hiring - I wouldn't have been charged 25% higher than I should have been. I hired Brad's Junk Removal to clear out some storage units for my terminally ill father. When we spoke on the phone, he mentioned that his rates had actually gone up $100 from what was on his website, which I accepted with no issues. On our call, he appeared very transparent, mentioning that if his team needed to go up to the storage lockers, there would be an extra fee, and we discussed a plan of action for how to get all of the units dealt with quickly. I told him that I was tight on budget, so I would have my brother help me to move everything down to the truck-loading bay for them. When they arrived, we were only half done moving everything down, so we agreed that we would have 1 of his guys come help us, while him and his 2nd helper loaded the truck. This lasted 1 run, and then he told my brother that his helper would stay down, and unload one trolley while my brother loaded the next. This apparently didn't happen either. Instead they spent the whole hour with I'm assuming all 3 of them sorting through boxes and emptying the paper recycling only into the truck. Most of the paper had already been pre-sorted for him, though some had binders, books, etc mixed in. I was in the unit the whole time, moving things to expedite and have everything go faster - which I had always expressed was my priority. When I finally did come down once the unit was empty, he loudly in front of his team, my brother and friend, and anyone else who was on site, told me that they had spent extra time sorting recycling from trash (which is a big part of their company value statement - and was always described to me as a part of their service and part of why I went with them), and that it would be $150 extra. He also quoted me $50 more than the max cost for a full truckload than he told me it would be. Neither of these costs were discussed with me before they were done - even though I was on site the whole time. I told him on site that his rationale for charging me extra didn't make sense, that he was charging me for services that he infers on his website and when I hired him were included in the cost. His excuses for why he needed to charge extra ("I'm saving you money on dump fees" - but those are inclusive of the cost too - it's saving HIM money on dump fees.) He had basically torn apart all of my boxes so when he charged me 25% more than he should have, I had no real choice but to agree to it. Overall, the 1hr 15min that he was there, he was very pleasant. It was these bogus hidden charges that I'm not ok about. He has been giving me made up and lame excuses to rationalize the extra costs, and I'm positive he'll respond to this with the same thing. Overall, it doesn't add up. I have been incredibly professional and have paid the costs. I just want to make sure that no one else gets taken advantage of and ripped off like I was. Beware that there will be hidden costs, he will claim that you're still getting such a great deal compared to competitors, and will try to out-talk you from noticing that the charges aren't right. read more

Gosh, just terrible. Very aggressive personality. He works under the table and will change his rates depending upon his whims. When questioned on his rates he becomes angry and tries to intimidate you. He came early and challenged my assertion that he was 10 minutes early. I wish I would have read the previous review before going through Brad. "Nasty, nasty, temper" is putting it politely. This man really is a piece of work with horrific customer relations. The first phone call he quoted $85 plus HST. The second phone call, the price raised to $100 but included HST. He didn't call first like he said he would, so when he arrived early we didn't have our couch on the curve. Fine, no problem. When my husband apologized, saying Brad had arrived earlier than expected, Brad got angry and sarcastic, presumably misinterpreting. Fine, whatever. But then he said the price was $112, which made it the 3rd time the price went up. When I asked why the price had changed from $85 to $100 then to $112 he got visibly and verbally angry, raising his voice and scaring my already tired toddler. Then when I said I simply wanted to know why, he continued to raise his voice saying over and over again "I don't control HST". I asked him to lower his voice because my son was getting upset and this seemed to provoke more of the same. I wrote him a check and now am quite nervous he has my banking information. Seriously, his behavior is not one that can be excused or explained away. I would have paid MORE to go through someone else who wouldn't have had such a horrific effect on my day and who would respect a mothers request made twice to lower his voice as it was upsetting my son. It was SHAMEFUL Brad, simply shameful. And please note, of all the use I have had with yelp over the years, I've never made a complaint against anyone even if I really wanted to. This experience motivated me to warn others from experiencing what I experienced...all over a request for clarification over $12. Seriously? $12? "Nasty, nasty, temper. Owner is a piece of work" pretty much sums it up. What an unexpected crazy experience on a day that was supposed to be about getting rid of a couch to make room for a nicer one for my son to play on. I just used Brad's junk removal services. While he was reasonably polite on the phone he was a different person when he showed up and started calculating the price. It's really important for potential customers to understand that a FULL TRUCK for $500 does not mean a FULL TRUCK. We filled up a truck and he claimed it was "an overload" because they had to flatten a few things and pack it in. We ended up paying $700 (extra for mattresses and electronic equipment). He was a hot-head, rude and really unpleasant to deal with. The only saving grace was that the two men working with him were very nice and pleasant - would suggest they work for someone else! Would never use his service again or recommend him as he is not honest and although he brags about being the cheapest service around - he isn't - too many hidden costs and a strange way of calculating a full load!!! read more

This is our first time using Brad for one of our renovation projects. This company is professional, courteous and helpful. He is well organized and as you can see from the quality of his website and the information on it he exceeds in these areas as compared to most. When he says someone will respond if you don't get a response right away, he backs it up with word and action. He also gave us some cost saving tips on garbage disposal and removal that is legal and legit based on his experience at no added cost. A few people who noticed his bright green bin on the lot when they dropped by said this guy is quality and upstanding and provides excellent service. Most people who use him know the quality and service he provides, that made us feel really good too. In today's world, service is suffering and many times no one really cares, I would like to see those companies out of business, the customer always has to pay and deal with the unfairness. In my world quality of service is everything and he is reasonable and fair with prices because ive shopped around. I want to deal with people and companies I can rely and trust on. We ended up filling the bin that afternoon so I contacted him and he picked it up that night. True to his word, the price did not go up or change.
