I think families with young kids (or even new swimmers) really appreciate the "beach" area because the water level doesn't exceed 5.5 feet (swimming vests are encouraged). There are life guards present as well. There are spacious bathrooms available for use a short walk up from the water and have changing rooms in addition to shower areas as well. The bathrooms were clean as well as the changing rooms, but there was a lot of standing water in areas. I'd definitely recommend walking carefully. Bring a picnic and come early if you plan on getting a grill. Those were all taken even on the weekday we went. Also, there were many small kids out there and they did not require any of other kids to take the test. Our son was the only child SINGLED OUT. When he literally did the same swim/jump when he was 1 year younger here safely many times AND as parents we were watching and more than ok with him doing it, there is no reason for them to ruin his day and keep him from hanging out with his brothers and cousin. The staff here are INCOMPETENT and IGNORANT, including the snarky manager Julia!!! Just BE WARNED that they can single a child out arbitrarily and pass/fail them on a whim from teenage staff even after you pay and ruin your child's day! Since your response was spin and avoided all FACTS!!! Here are some questions that you IGNORED... Mt. Gretna Lake and Beach why was my son "safe" to multiple lifeguards a year prior who allowed him to go past the rope many times and do the jump? (I have video evidence) Were they not doing their job??? Why was my son the only child targets by the lifeguards and made to do the test? There were many children that day his size or smaller. That included a boy who was terrified to jump and paced the dive for nearly 10min holding on for dear life. More importantly, the boy could not swim at all and his parents had to bring him a tube to drag him back. My son swam unassisted last year and on Sunday. Not a single lifeguard whistled or said a thing to the terrified boy and his parents and they even allowed him to go past the rope after that whole incident. I also have video footage of this. What do you have to say about this incident that went on for 10min and was obvious to anyone there that day? Your staff is incompetent, unprofessional, and unreasonable. You targeted my family and let other major safety concerns slide. I was/am furious and will spread her word. Good thing everything on here in FACT and I can prove with videos unlike your biased spin! I'd love your answers to the above publicly!!!!

Located by the Patuxent River with a breathtaking view, Endeavor Point, is a ridden gem with campground, private beaches you can swim, a huge fishing pier, and cottages for rentals. From the moment you step onto the grounds of this place you feel your entire body relaxing. It is an amazing experience! I rented a cottage (Mermaid Folly) for the weekend. The place was very well furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room furniture, very comfortable beds with soft linens, clean baths with soft towels. In general, the place was very clean, well decorated, and very functional. What I loved the most about the cottage was the balcony with a fantastic view, sitting outside under the tree close to the water, and listening to the waves breaking by the river shore. I also loved my walks in the mornings and afternoons by the breezy beaches and pier watching people fishing, the sunrising, and the sunset. I strongly recommend Endeavor Point if you want to just relax on a visit during the day, if you like camping overnight, or staying in a very comfortable cottage over the weekend.

But that also means there aren't any lifeguards or the services that you would find here during the summer months. Swim at your own risk. We weren't there for swimming, though it was 80 degrees and there were several people splashing around and having a good time. There was also a church baptism going on, which made my heart smile. There seemed to be many family and church members there to witness and celebrate, and I love seeing that kind of support and community. I also like the idea of feeling that close to God that you would take that step, to hopefully strengthen that bond. Ariel, the little mermaid, was also there, randomly, having a photo shoot. We wandered a bit, for about an hour. In the back of the park there's a crumbling path that we all decided was some Indiana Jones sh!t. There's some caution tape there, but it's just flapping in the shrubbery, not doing much good. Most of the park is quite wheelchair accessible, though several of the paved paths are so steep that I didn't venture down them. I could have, if I had been determined. I like that option. The playground is looking a little worse for wear. I didn't get close enough to take any pictures because the gnats are serious right now. But there were also some lovely butterflies. Those are always nice to see, especially with their populations dwindling. We've been checking out a lot of local parks these days, and this one is pretty decent. Gunpowder Park: Hammerman Area off Ebenezer Road is still our top rated park, though. I'd put Rocky Point third, after North Point State Park in Dundalk (that jetty!). Would recommend
