What we got was kids totally unsupervised doing and saying whatever they wanted, lifeguards not noticing dangerous horseplay, and the pool actually being shut down for 30 minutes because someone felt the need to pleasure themselves. While we were waiting for the lifeguards to clean the pool of the biohazard, bored teens were threatening younger kids with sexual battery and dropping the F-bomb. Another kid took my son's air pod right out of his ear. It was trashy and disgusting so we left. I will drive farther and pay more to go to the Aqua Center in Chambersburg if it means I can be around people who know how to behave in public and monitor their children better.

The pros: Abundant parking, somewhat clean bathrooms,…read morewell behaved and supervised children, lifeguards that actually enforce rules, a sprayground, waterslide, shade, picnic tables and a concession stand. 15 minutes on the hour, kids are restricted to using other areas while only adults can peacefully enjoy the pool for the remainder of the hour. This public membership/fee park is a lovely and inexpensive way to relax while you let your kids loose. You are allowed to bring a cooler and picnic foods. I observed some adults tackfully bring their own special blend of "grown up juice"( I must reiterate, VERY TACKFULLY). This pool is very family centered and billgerant or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated here. Use common sense and you will love hanging out here. I enjoyed my afternoon here under the shade of an umbrella. Its well worth the admission. If you are an avid user of the pool, you may want to pay for a membership. You can cross the street and pay for seasonal acess at the rec center.

It's a nice size pool with many seating options all the way around. There are several areas with chaise lounges, umbrellas and tables, there are 4 cabanas to rent and many poolside lounge chairs. There is a bar with drinks and food options that opens at noon. The water is crystal clear and not over chlorinated. Water is a perfect temp to cool down in. It is open to the sky without building interference. Music in the background and a leafy fence to make the air conditioners invisible. There is a bit of noise from those on one end but not unbearable. There are also a few poolside games like bags, large Jenga and a sort of bucket toss. One downside is the lack of outlets and no hotel WiFi. Would recommend if you have some down time!

Had a grand time at Rocky Point yesterday with my boyfriend and our friend, Justin. It's off…read moreseason, so there's no one manning the entrance. But that also means there aren't any lifeguards or the services that you would find here during the summer months. Swim at your own risk. We weren't there for swimming, though it was 80 degrees and there were several people splashing around and having a good time. There was also a church baptism going on, which made my heart smile. There seemed to be many family and church members there to witness and celebrate, and I love seeing that kind of support and community. I also like the idea of feeling that close to God that you would take that step, to hopefully strengthen that bond. Ariel, the little mermaid, was also there, randomly, having a photo shoot. We wandered a bit, for about an hour. In the back of the park there's a crumbling path that we all decided was some Indiana Jones sh!t. There's some caution tape there, but it's just flapping in the shrubbery, not doing much good. Most of the park is quite wheelchair accessible, though several of the paved paths are so steep that I didn't venture down them. I could have, if I had been determined. I like that option. The playground is looking a little worse for wear. I didn't get close enough to take any pictures because the gnats are serious right now. But there were also some lovely butterflies. Those are always nice to see, especially with their populations dwindling. We've been checking out a lot of local parks these days, and this one is pretty decent. Gunpowder Park: Hammerman Area off Ebenezer Road is still our top rated park, though. I'd put Rocky Point third, after North Point State Park in Dundalk (that jetty!). Would recommend
