One snowy day last week, I peeked out from beneath my woolly hat and spotted a large sign promising "Coffee & Cake just €2 in Bradbury's". Up until then, I'd avoided this establishment as I'd found it particularly expensive. I was sure there must be a catch. Usually, just a coffee costs more than that. Maybe, only one or two disgusting cakes that were about to go off were included in the offer.
Since that fateful day, I've dragged (okay at that price, they came pretty willingly) three friends here, and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there was no catch. One can enjoy tea or any type of coffee with any choice of cake (apart from the Gingerbread Man. No point trying to save him missus, a fox gets him in the end).

I ordered a coffee with my lunch. The helpful waitress pointed out that I may as well get a dessert. She then stared at me until I made a decision. I panicked and asked for a mince pie (even though I know I don't like them).
Seen as we had a lot to catch up on, my friend bought us a couple more Americanos. She arrived back to the table, happy with her doggie bag of two mince pies.
As long as this offer lasts, I'll be bringing everyone and anyone here. Nice on the wallet but not on the dress size, I'm sure... read more
