We happened upon The Natural Bakery while wandering around the Stillorgan Village Centre and while…read morewe were initially just window shopping, those pastries and cookies looked too good to pass up...so inside we went! The space is simple with one side of the store lined with pastry and dessert cases where all the goods are held and served from. The rest of the space is seating and shelving for other packaged products. At the back there is a couple of windows giving you a view into the kitchen where the magic happens. Our visit here was between breakfast and lunch, so we grabbed a pear and apple tart to share. The tart was divine! The tart crust was flaky, yet sturdy while the filling was perfect consistency and featured the right amount of fruit. The cream on the side added a bit of texture and sweetness with each bite. Service was friendly and helpful from entry to exit. The space was well kept and clean. The staff was actively cleaning tables between guests. Overall, solid find in the Stillorgan Village Centre!

It makes me sound like an intrepid explorer, bravely overcoming all the elements and impossible climbs the Stillorgan shopping centre and mother nature can throw at me, but in truth, it is a little less dramatic. OK, a lot less, I parked the car and walked in to baked good heaven, my pictures do not do it justice. There is any amount of fresh breads, a little island in the middle with bakers decorating cakes and such an array of cakes, buns, éclairs and tarts that I could barely bring myself to make a choice. I settled for a cream filled doughnut, it was spectacular, huge and only 2 euro. Q wobbles out of shop, in a penguin like manner shouting "I'll be back!" to anyone who will listen. Children start crying. Q's belt starts crying. .

If you're dining in, you order at the counter and get a table number to place wherever you decide to sit. There's plenty of seating inside which is a plus. What I got: -Potato danish- savory; slight salty, crispy flakey layers. -Sausage roll- slightly salty for my preference, but has a very crispy crust and a meaty sausage in the middle. We went back a second time on our trip and got a few more pastries, all of which were very delicious. The pastries were hot, flakey, glistening, delicate, and perfectly sweet on both visits. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Dublin again.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.
