    Noble + EV - Windsor

Noble has quite a few locations in Connecticut and Massachusetts. It is Connecticut based and the…read morefirst one opened in 2013. Some of the locations also has a car wash. Typically, I don't review gas stations but this one is pretty new, clean, and large. There's an electric vehicle charging station, diesel, gasoline, and a Dunkin attached. When we went, the drive through was not ready yet but it looks like there will be one. There are restrooms and plenty of snacks and drinks to choose from. They also serve coffee, breakfast, grinders, and ice cream.

They've just been open for two weeks and offered a rock-bottom gas price of just $2.89 a gallon. Oh, and by the way, they have an incredibly sweet number of 16 gas pumps. It was one of my cheapest fill ups in quite a while. After I gassed up, I went inside to check out the store and buy a lottery ticket. Well, they've been open for such a short time they're not quite ready to start pumping out those tickets yet. Their spacious convenience store was neat as a pin and stocked to overflowing, and I saw a Dunkin' counter way off to the left. The young lady at the convenience store register was personable and very friendly when I chatted with her about the place. Noble's website says they are "a Connecticut-based business bringing high-end automobile re-fueling centers to New England". There's a few of them around Hartford and spread across the state. Some have carwashes and EV charging stations, but I think it's too early to see what the Day Hill location will end up with. I saw that Noble is also building a Truck Service and Diesel center pretty much next door at 1966 Day Hill Road. They are a very welcome addition to Day Hill Road and all of its office buildings and commuters.

The store was pretty clean and well faced. They did have a older looking Amerindian statue outside, I assume because of the large collection of smoke products inside. They also had beanie babies? I loved the ice cream machine, and if I drank it, would probably appreciate the coffee machine. There does not seem to be a restroom inside the shop itself.

Simsbury Shell is located on a very busy 4-way intersection where Route 202/44 (Albany Turnpike)…read morecrosses Bushy Hill Road (Route 167). This is in the heart of the crowded suburban megaplex on the Simsbury-Avon line. There are huge driveways on both sides of Shell's corner lot, so getting in and out is never a problem. They have quite a few gas pumps, so I've never really had to wait to gas up here. Gas in Simsbury is expensive everywhere, sometimes a 25-cent piece more than what you find on the Berlin Tpk. So it's a given that gas here is going to be expensive, but not a penny more than the equally expensive Mobil across the street. Which makes me think, wouldn't it be sweet if these 2 got into a price war instead of playing footsie with each other? You can save a few bucks with your Stop and Shop points, you have to slide in your Stop and Shop card before your credit card, and the price per gallon will drop. Mine dropped 20 cents this morning. So the price of gas is at the local market rate, there are tons of pumps, the place has easy access and egress. And unlike the prior review, I never had a problem with a malfunctioning gas pump. Also unlike the prior review, I would not call the guys who work there "clowns". I've always found them to be courteous and helpful. The convenience store inside is pretty good as convenience stores go, Good place for a newspaper, soft drink, maybe a lottery ticket. All in all -the total picture of "A-OK".
