He charged me again, $20. Argued with me about the sensor, he finally took a machine out and checked, then he says someone broke the sensor when repairing tire. HE broke the sensor when he was patching the tire. FYI the light is still on. Just don't go. It's not worth it. Don't go there, if you don't know anything about cars or if you're a woman.

I thought I had a flat but none of my tire indicators were on, nor any of my engine lights. I pulled off the highway and parked on the side of the road in a residential area and started investigating, which for me means kicking the tires and checking the oil. I'd just had the brakes done, but I couldn't see anything loose. A neighbor walked up, asked if he could help, but the problem seemed bigger than either of us could fathom. That's when he recommended this service station. I pulled in at about 9 o'clock on a Saturday morning, and the place was hopping. The owner came out, listened to my story, and said he might or might not be able to get to it today because his guys were leaving at 1 PM. I didn't have a lot of options, driving to the service station made me very nervous because of the clunk and clatter, so I parked the car, called around, and started calculating the cost of having my car towed 160 miles to home. Joao, the owner, came out to check on me, and I told him I hadn't found any other service stations that could help. He said he'd squeeze me in. His mechanic drove it into the bay and figured out the problem in one minute. Loose tire. As in, one of the bolts was about to pop out and the rest were wriggling free. I shudder to think what would've happened if I had been on the Hutch when the driver side front tire decided to separate from the vehicle! All of us breathed a huge sigh of relief. The mechanic double checked my new back brakes, tightened all the Lugnuts, and then they sent me to the local bagel shop with a list of pastries and coffee for the team. This was the lucky, lucky day I got to buy everybody breakfast as compensation for the repairs. Otherwise, no charge. As a musician on the road, I've had my share of breakdowns and emergencies. All in all, I've been really lucky, and today was no exception. If you're in a pinch, I recommend Joao and his friendly, efficient team without reservation.

I had to wait because a lady pulled in seconds before me, also for an inspection. Before I knew it, she had authorized some repairs and was sitting next to me waiting. I was next. The manager came to get me like a doctor with bad news. Now I knew I needed to replace my front brakes, but this guy tried to get me to go for $800 in repairs, replacing both front and back, new rotors, new tires, and even claimed I needed new shocks. He insisted he couldn't pass my car for the inspection without all these repairs. He even called his parts supplier in front of me, for effect no doubt, and got a quote. When I laughed at him, he said he could give me a "deal" and was willing to knock a couple of hundred dollars off. I really wanted to punch him in the nuts, but he had my car on a lift. I told him to take it down because I was leaving. He told me that he was supposed to take my sticker off, but he would do me a favor and leave it. I wound up going to my regular mechanic in my old neighborhood that I know and trust. He replaced my brakes for a fraction of the price and told me that was all the work I needed. I still have the same tires today and did not need anything fixed pertaining the suspension. I still get gas at this station because of the cheap prices, but I do not trust this place for repairs. They lure you in with discounts and then tell you that you need something else fixed. I am sure they do right by some customers, but a guy like this will try to take advantage when he sees a good opportunity. He may have got the lady before me, but there was no way he was getting me. Anyone with a similar experience should share it in a review. I have no reason to exaggerate, and I did not create an account just to bash this place like I have seen done here on yelp. I am just a hardworking guy that does not want people to get taken advantage of. Please be careful if you go here!
