Boyd Air Systems was great, came out in a timely manner and fixed the issue quickly, at a fair price as well. Very reliable!

Called to get my AC serviced because I forgot to do it last year, and this summer is placing a heck…read moreof a lot more strain on it than it normally gets. Got a quick appointment when I wanted it and my Tech, Edwyn, showed up right on time. Edwyn, did a great job, told me everything he was going to do and did, and gave me options for the future to help my system stay running for longer. Absolute pro! Booking him to come out for the furnace when the weather turns colder (when that ever happens). Edwyn and the team at Air Force are great. They will be my first call from here on out for HVAC needs.

$700.00 AN HOUR Yep, a friendly serviceman came, did a basic…read moreair conditioning repair and he did a good job. But, I timed the visit, and it was a few minutes under an hour, and that included everything; the estimate and repair labor. The bill was $ 758.00 for that hour. I talked to the repairman about the cost of parts versus labor and he said they were not separated out. I talked to the business owner later on. He said that of the $758, the parts were about $80....although I found Amazon is cheaper. He did go through his costs with me, stating they were part of the job, but most had nothing to do with the repair but rather, costs of running a large corporation ......costs such as .....employee benefits ......travel time to and from the job ......office management ......payments on his fleet of trucks, my guess ......profit for the owner that the worker never receives. On the other hand, the costs of a self-employed serviceman would be parts and labor only, in his bill, usually $50-$100 an hour plus parts. So, bottom line, it was a simple job with cheap parts which I accepted ....trusting that it would require more time and cost than it actually did. My bad, I should have gotten another estimate, which means a second cost for a second estimate, but in this case I should have paid it. SINCE I KNEW THE REPAIR THAT WAS NEEDED, I SHOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO BARGAIN A BIT LOWER WITH SUBSEQUENT CONTRACTORS... SOMETHING I WILL REMEMBER IN MY FUTURE CONTRACTED JOBS. My view, everything was legal, but the service of a large air conditioning company should be noticeably cheaper or else it offers no benefit to offset the cost. I saw no such benefit. Finally, I would encourage you to talk to the owner, he's pleasant and well spoken. He will have a lot to say.

After reporting a furnace issue (ignitor continually activating after burner was ignited and blower…read morerunning) to my home warranty company, they sent a contractor technician. He diagnosed that the blower needed to be replaced. (I am a certified aero engineer, so am familiar with ignition and burner systems) When questioned about the continuously activating ignitor, he indicated that the continuously running ignitor was "normal." When I sowed him online that the continuously activating ignitor was not normal and could be dangerous, he didn't 52 minutes researching Google on his cell phone and did not change his diagnosis or estimate fir cleaning the fan and replacing the blower that was working fir an additional $240 over the warranty's initial service fee. I called highly recommended Air Systems Solutions in Ventura, CA who arranged for a technician visit the next day. He was very courteous and did a very thorough job and replaced the ignition panel. Aside from the part itself, the service fee was less than half of the original contractor's estimate. Highly recommend work from Air Systems Solutions in Ventura CA.

To top it off their price was competitive and they were able to get us on their schedule in just a couple of weeks. We would recommend them and if we have another project would definitely work with them again. Thank you Brian and the Air System Solutions team!!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately my experience here left me uncomfortable moving…read moreforward with this company. I received an estimate of $4,801.13 to replace an evaporator coil that was being covered under the manufacturer warranty, with the company providing the labor and related work. After a delay in getting the estimate to me, the company applied a 10% discount, bringing the total to $4,321.02. I appreciated that gesture. I eventually spoke directly with the owner to see if there was any additional flexibility on the price. To be clear, I had absolutely no issue with him declining my offer or standing behind his pricing. A business is entitled to charge what it believes its work is worth, just as a customer is entitled to shop around. What concerned me was how the conversation was handled. Early in the call, the owner asked whether I was an attorney and then volunteered that he did not like attorneys, mentioning that he had several attorneys in his family. The conversation became surprisingly defensive and condescending from there. When I asked about receiving an itemized breakdown of the charges, he told me that he does not provide itemized billing. For a repair of this size, I personally wanted a clearer understanding of what I was paying for. He ultimately suggested that I shop around because he was not willing to move on the price. That's completely fair, and that's exactly what I decided to do. For me, this was ultimately less about the price and more about professionalism and how a customer is treated when asking reasonable questions about a significant repair bill. I would have been perfectly comfortable hearing, "This is our best price and unfortunately we can't go any lower." Instead, the interaction left me without the confidence necessary to move forward with the company. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

My AC compressor went out and it turned out to be the capacitor for said compressor as diagnosed by…read morethe AC911 technician. He had the needed capacitor in his truck and installed it to verify that it worked and fixed the problem, which it did. He then informed me that the price for capacitor replacement was $785 installed. I had the option to have him remove it and deal with it elsewhere or on my own. There would then be just the previously agreed on $95 service call fee. Not knowing what this kind of repair should cost, I went ahead and paid it. Afterwards I looked online for typical costs for this repair. Average repair cost in my area was given as $158 with a range of $150 to $300. Over $500 was ID'd as a total SCAM. I could have bought the capacitor on Amazon for about $10. Not $100 but $10 and it is not complicated to install. I called Sheri at AC911 to ask if this was what their normal charge was and she told me, yes we charge $785 for this repair. Since I had voluntarily paid it, I had nowhere to go so I left it at that. To echo what someone else said here, this is an OUTRAGEOUS price. AC911 has heard the last of me. I will NEVER call them again for any type of repair. You shouldn't either. :(
