Saturday was real fun with lots of folks shopping, but even with several folks shopping people are chill. This isn't Goodwill and you aren't going to find boring pieces here. I recently moved back to Summerville so I made the trip to North Charleston to get a few items. Overall this is pretty much like any other Hobby Lobby with one exception, which I'll bury somewhere in here if you keep reading. Walking in a week after the doors were unlocked for the general public, the experience is almost exactly similar to all other Hobby Lobby's; the space wide open yet filled with shelves of knick-knacks, art supplies, nostalgic themed items and many other items. The place is very clean and sterile while being well stocked and thoughtfully displayed, playing on the casual shoppers innate impulse shopping with "Oh I might need that one day" mentality. Therein lies my personal weakness as I headed back to the front to grab a cart to load up with items, I really didn't need but I could justify in my mind. I could drag the review out but, it's Hobby Lobby and you know what you're getting. Clean and safe stores with all sorts of items, and generally good employees. But that is one of the flaws of this particular store, the people were slow to respond and weren't well trained as they seemed to be missing a clue or two. While I'm ignorant of the inner workings I'd wager management isn't exactly up to par here. That said for the general public I don't think that would be an issue, just my knit picking. I'll end my review with it's not a bad store and it just needs a little TLC in terms of customer relations. I keep driving I turn left and never saw there pick up area.. now I'm mad..they took my money and sent me on a poor customer service wild goose chase! Long story short, rolled to the front of the store and was met by an Employee with a really annoying grin on her face.. I said a few choice words, regarding their poor customer service and the fact that while I was rolling in back alleys their staff was sitting around giggling with each other...hmm needless to say they brought my dresser out and loaded it in my car..I have never seen a ghetto mess like what I saw today. I asked for the item that I was looking for and the older sales person, that looked bothered, instantly stated, "No, I don't believe we sell that". The younger sales person said, "Yes, we do sell things like that because this is HomeGoods. Would you like for me to show you?" I said yes and she took me right where I needed to be. For this shopping trip I decided to stick with my list so after picking up my item I proceeded to the checkout. I was surprised to only see one cashier, but another one came up after seeing the line.
