When I first moved to Mount Pleasant 5 years ago, Abide A While was the first nursery that I went to. As soon as I walked in the annual section, I was met with the warmest smile by an older lady that instantly made me feel at home. I forgot her name, but after talking for a while she had mentioned she was with the company for about 40 years! Being as happy as she was with the same company for that long is definitely is a statement in itself! Unfortunately she retired not too long ago, but now I've met so many other friendly and knowledgeable people at Abide A While. Bruce and J.D.(?) are my go-tos. As for the layout, I like it a lot. Pretty much all the annuals are to the right. Houseplants are on the left, inside with the household items. (All of the household items are beautifully displayed and consist of great quality). Outside, towards the rear of the building are the perennials, trees, and some tropical plants. One of the most important things about Abide A While is every plant is labeled and the majority have full descriptions! If the description is not on the pot, it'll be on a nearby post or printed out on a card. There's nothing more that I hate than to have to do full research on the spot for a plant that catches my eye. So kudos to them for providing that information. I'll end with saying Abide A While is just beautiful, inside and out. I especially love going there after a stressful day. It's so serene, and even majestic in a way. If you haven't been there before, it's worth going for that reason alone.

Oh boy, my X girlfriend from Austin TX came out to visit me so I had to show her around town…read more While here, she wanted to drop by and pick up some items so I suggested Town Center in Mt Pleasant and as soon as she saw Bath & Body Works, I knew more than half an hour would be gone as she lost herself in female shopping bliss. I love the area but walking in I noticed something, it was hot, even for November. So, I struck up a conversation with an employee as I noticed all the machines that were about. He informed me that their AC had gone out in Sept and it might be a month or two more before it was fixed. Aside from their AC issues the place is wonderful to visit. My X was walking around like she was in heaven, encouraging me to inhale every single fragrance she found intriguing along with forcing me to make the impossible task of telling her what I liked best as I'd always be wrong. Since Thxgiving was upon us the employees laughed at my peril as I hadn't smelled so many pumpkins and spices in my life. Seasonal candles, fruity perfumes, fragrant soaps and the list went on and on as the mission was in full effect. I humbly suggest the place buys some chairs so the unfortunate souls, we'll call them men, can sit while their female companions run around even scratching the walls to see if they smelled, ala Willie Wonka. Joking and the lack of AC aside, the place is set up very nicely with many products easily accessible to sample. I rather liked some of the perfumes and lotions, many of which could be bought as a set, as it really brought out my former girlfriend's femininity and that's a win for everyone. Moreover, I was glad some of the employees lent their expert opinion on fragrances as I don't have an acute sense of smell. After roughly 45 minutes she had accumulated enough products to drive up the stock price of Bath & Body Works by a full percentage. In summary, while I made fun of my afternoon, my X was happy considering she even bought some products for her kids back in Austin. She was even on the website ensuring all things were priced correctly and negotiating sales that weren't yet released. The facility minus the previously mentioned AC problem is set up in a logical manner designed to entice not only items on a list but impulse buying; well played B&BW, well played. While I can't comment on prices as I'm ignorant on women's products the lady was happy and I'm pleased every phase of shopping was adequately addressed and the employes were phenomenal. I'm sure the place has whatever a woman needs and if you're a man reading this and you have to accompany a lady friend, bring a phone so you can play solitaire or browse FB while your significant other assaults the store with reckless abandon!
