I am in very definite muscle pain today…read more I went to Muay Thai cardio at Maxx gym. It is unlike any workout I have ever experienced. Warm up: 8 minutes of jump rope interwoven with stretching. Sounds easy, so far? Try it. He then lines you up and shows you 8 different stations which you will do in sequence. Medicine ball squats, switch kicking, focus pad punching. ladder jumping and light sparring You probably think you can do this w/p90x or Taebo. Maxx has 7 instructors and you are actually punching and kicking targets, not air. You receive a great workout and you learn proper technique You finish with 5 minutes of sit ups.....I really like this place. Mike is a very serious instructor and probably the best I have experienced. He does allow music to be played in the backround One small word of caution: He doesnt tolerate swearing. The owner was never there and the trainers couldnt promise they could be in my corner for the charity fight. I wasted a 10 dollars for the month membership and a private lesson. To make matters even worse MY ELECTRIC BIKE WAS STOLEN right outside the gym, No one has checked the cameras or even got back tome right after it happened. It was a $400-600 dollar bike that I used to get to the gym and train station. And still no word on the bike or them looking at the cameras. You can't even get a in touch with the gym. Upstairs they have a full octagon, some wrestling mats, and some speed bags. Needless to say, that is where most of the mixed martial arts training happens. Additionally, there are lockers and shower (one in each bathroom) on site. They run classes everyday for all ages. You get a good mix of people here with men and women ranging in age from 12 - 60+ of varying abilities. There is sparring if you are interested and a number of pros workout here, most notably Joe Lauzon. It doesn't really have the traditional sweat stench of a boxing gym which I am completely fine with.

I drive 40 min from my house to take his classes at least 4 days a week. He is extremely knowledgeable in kinesiology. He has assisted me in meeting my fitness goals and helped me through some minor injuries. His classes are tough but he will adjust the exercises as needed for different fitness levels. The other members are very welcoming and there is a great sense of comradery. I tried the boxing classes as well recently. I have never boxed before but was pleasantly surprised. The boxing instructors were very helpful. Boxing is one of the best workouts I've ever had. I highly recommend Corebox!

I told myself once I had the time to commit, I'd go back. When I went back , I found out of their prices. The website says it's only $29 to start and $49 two months after membership start date for the annual fee. That didn't sound to bad. In actuality, the fees are $150 a month and $49 two months later for the annual fee. I'd written basically the same review and was messaged by one of their employees asking me to take down the review because it was " hurtful and inaccurate". So I did remove it because maybe my info was wrong and I'm not out here trying to hurt anyone's hustle. My bad, But then I called just to be clear and asked some questions. Nathan, who was very helpful confirmed my original remarks about the fees. IT IS $150/monthly, and $49 /annually. A lil too rich for my blood. If that's your cup of tea then sip on, but I'll pass.
