I'm so fucking happy I remembered this place existed. I'm from Stoughton, I moved away, but I come…read moreto town to visit my family pretty often. I legit had a panic attack at the trouble it was finding anything at all on class pass, let alone good yoga, barre, and spin. Like literally I was malfunctioning and this happens everytime I come to town. The boutique fitness here is not even mid, I know it's the suburbs but it sucks and throws me off my fitness routine everytime I come home. Plus I eat all the shit I don't eat where I live here, fucking town spa and bullshit. I just can't. Googled yoga after not being able to book a 9:30 class somewhere like near Dedham idk. I really don't remember this area. Ummm. I totally forgot I used to come here the first years they were open and I was like early years of college. (20 yrs ago wtf) anyway this place really was the catalyst to my fitness journey. I was wicked lazy and silly, and just kind of fucked around bc I didn't and still don't know how to use weights, and was really a dancer, however; I loveee group fitness. This place only got better!! The instructors are fucking amazing, I sucks at names but the barre teacher wow! Slay queen,. I needed that. Barre in LA could use you. And Gail is a g!! Love her. I also had the pleasure of doing Zumba with the homies. If you know you know. Anyway 25$ for a week pass is silly stupid. And I will be back everytime this fucking town sucks me back for a visit.

We probably would have done the family plan if everyone was in agreement. Anyhow, probably stay at our current gyms for the time being. Spacious, cardio upstairs on the overpass walkway. Basketball court always busy. Sauna is a bit tight. It gets pretty busy but we didn't end up waiting for anything and got our workouts done efficiently. Free weights, bench racks incline flat and decline. Squat racks, smith machines, cable machines, racquet ball courts, cardio machines and stretching area. They also have a cafe and vending machines for your smoothies and protein needs. Parking lot is limited during peak times but there's plenty of space to find a spot. People make their own too haha. Overall a good spot in the area. Some of the equipment definitely felt like it's been moved, but manager did say they always try to fix anything that's down quickly. Hopefully that's the same with the pool!

I'm a former swimmer & miss lap swimming, so finding a gym w/ a pool would be ideal for me! Unfortunately, the pool has been out of service since November & they've been having HVAC issues + I guess struggling to find someone to come to fix it? Not entirely sure but hopefully the issue will be resolved soon. They have lots of cardio machines, mainly on the second floor. There are stairmasters on the first floor by the locker rooms, weight area is in the back of the gym first floor along w/ a bunch of machines scattered around, and a cycle room. Locker rooms have saunas in both men & women's. I do like that they have a cycle room! I'm a big fan of spin & would like to pop in to one of these classes eventually. If you like playing basketball, they have an indoor court as well! Staff is really nice here & for the most part, the gym was kept pretty clean. The membership plans are quite affordable, in my opinion! I've gone to gyms where I've spent hundreds of dollars a month, less than $100/month, and Planet Fitnesses/Crunch but I would say LA Fitness' memberships are a great deal if you're looking for a place that has more amenities than your typical weights-only gym w/o paying Lifetime/Equinox prices...also actually cheaper than our local YMCAs. Standard membership is ~$30 but if you sign up for a family plan (w/ $99 initiation fee), each person is $20/month up to 4 people per plan. The equipment here does seem worn but didn't come across any that were broken or anything. There are some machines that I was hoping to see and not sure if they will be getting some new machines? Honestly, still debating on joining membership because my main goal was to find a gym that has a pool and it's uncertain when the pool issue will be fixed. Parking: they have a good size free parking lot but it does get pretty packed & many people end up parking in non-spots lol. ***Babysitting is available if you have kids in the household! $10 extra add-on/month per kid to membership***

A couple of months into my workout - one day, during my workout, the general manager approached me…read moreand offered to cancel my gym membership because I dropped my weights during my deadlifting. Before I signed up, I specifically asked three questions: 1) Whether I can do deadlifts; 2) Whether I can drop weights; and 3) Whether I can use chalk. The staff (a young boy) at the front desk answered affirmatively to all three questions, so I joined the gym. Many Planet Fitness type of commercial gyms have noise rules - that was why I asked. Given the explicit initial verbal consent when I signed up, I was furious and felt not welcomed. I argued with the manager and then left immediately without finishing my workout. I came back a second time to get my refund (and btw they refused to refund my annual fee). Now the young boy who signed me up claimed I only asked whether I could do deadlifts. And he claimed that he had warned me multiple times. These were flat out lies. About two week ago (and a couple of months into my training), he asked me to put mats underneath and I complied. That was the only time that we had a discussion about the noise. I pressed for details about those supposed "warnings" and the boy refused to clarify. I've trained at the gym for four months at different hours. Most of the time I saw only teens at the front desk. The general manager claimed he never saw me before that day's incident - thus I realized that the gym never had proper professional management. If the gym decides to hire underaged staff to help, that's perfectly okay. The problem is - if the teens - who lack the professionalism of adult trained staff - decide to handle matters in a teen's way - customers will have limited resort. The manager pointed out that the gym has rules forbidding weight dropping (and I am not disputing their general rules), but the gym also has rules that people must wear their masks at all times, as well as you must put weights back on the rack. But the rules are never enforced. People wander around, or grunt heavily, a lot of them without masks especially the teens. I have been training for a couple of months and I was under the impression that it was a gym managed in - let's say - a quite libertine way. I told him that this club is among the most dysfunctional in terms of weights arrangements (and I have toured more than a dozen gyms in different areas) - every single time I went there there were always some weights on the bars/machines (sometimes only on one side) and I had to put those weights back by myself. Different categories of weights are often stacked together. Also, having three 45lbs plates only on one end of the barbell hanging on a rack without people attending is actually dangerous. When I pointed out these apparent irregularities, the general manager - rather than acknowledging that things could improve - exploded at me. He shouted that it was not feasible to have staff sleeping on the floor all day to observe gym etiquette and enforcing the rules - and he would not stand me "insulting" his gym. So this is an interesting development. But after reading other comments on Yelp now I perfectly understand that I am not the only customer who got shouted at by the general manager. To sum up - the gym is not professionally managed compared to industry peers. The training environment is passable but not among the top tier. There are a lot of teens who train here and teens have different manners. For the mask conscious people - I've been to gyms that stringently enforce mask rules but this is not one of them. People frequently don't disinfect the equipment despite the explicit rules mandating disinfection. The locker rooms are not dirty but they are a bit beaten down (I have only seen the male lockers). Its pricing point ($45) should warrant a better environment but it is not the case. And the last word I heard from them is - you are no longer a customer, bye-bye. Well indeed. That's just the perfect way to treat your customers, even former ones. Congratulations.
