We have been going to BowWow Happy for a couple of years now. She has been nothing but great with our dog Nique. We went and shopped around before going to her and originally went to her for the price. But after a couple of years, we will never go to another. Compared to others, we loved the idea that she only takes one dog at a time and at no time do the dogs get put into a kennel. Nique hates to be groomed and is terrible with having his face touched. Our dog has a skin issue that took a year and several doctors to figure out and Masako had been more than willing to work with our veterinarian to figure out the problem. I have a 3 year old Bichon Frise and for those who own Bichons, know that they are high maintenance grooming. I am very meticulous about the cut of my pup, and have been through numerous groomers, ranging from commercial store groomers to small business owners. I occasionally groom my dog and can take about 2-3 hours and so I feel very particular about his grooming. Masako pays close attention to details and needs of her customers. Every other groomer besides Masako complains that my dog is squirmy and difficult to groom. But he was no fuss at all with Masako and he was very happy and perky when we got home. read more

I still stand by what I originally said. I just wanted to respond to the owners questions publicly. After looking through my records, I found that I was mistaken about the date that I took my dogs in. They came in on December 28th. I was off my a few days. As for not having a record of my name: I have digital images of the checks that were deposited into Masako's account, complete with account number. The check cleared on December 31st. I also have the images from the check that cleared in October. I am 100% certain I have not mixed up the groomer. read more

I can't imagine taking my dogs to anyone but Mosako. She only grooms one dog at a time and loves the dogs and their owners!! We are so happy that we found Masako and Bowwow Happy! We have two Havanese - one is 14 years old and the other is almost 18. The 18 year old has had some bad experiences over the years with groomers and children so is very fearful and can be snippy. After moving from Hood River, we were having a hard time finding a groomer that we were comfortable with. After reading reviews about Masako, we took our dogs to her. She is wonderful! She is so patient with our dogs, and they come out looking great. We love that she does only one dog at a time (or one dog family at a time) and that they are never put in kennels. And, she takes cute pictures of the dogs after they are all done. Masako is always friendly and helpful, and she truly loves dogs and is always looking out for them. I have been a client of hers for several years. My water hating Chow mix, now will lean in to her during the wash portion of his bath, he is enjoying her working the suds in so much. She is strong, but also very gentle and patient. Her policy to only groom a single dog, or dog family at a time takes the stress level down, as well as all the unnessairy time in cages at other groomers. The groomer I took him to previously, was so afraid during nail trims, she required him to be restrained and muzzled. It was for that reason I went looking for a new groomer and found Bow Wow Happy. She give both my dogs treats, talks baby talk to them, and has worked to learn their command language to more easily communicate with them. For example, to ask them to relieve themselves, we ask them to "get it done". She knows they are usually pretty spoiled, so she continues to talk baby talk when they get nervous and offer treats. My dogs will never love me leaving them to get bathed or nails trimmed, but I think she has come as close as they will ever get to enjoying their "spa" day. I could not recommend anyone I trust to groom my boys more than Bow Wow Happy. Her prices are reasonable too! There are no cages here. There is simply a place to clip their leash, and a bed to rest on, while they wait to get picked up, and to give her time to sweep up between clients. read more

We rescued a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Toby a couple of years ago. Toby is now 11 and gets warm very easily. Our Vet suggested that we take him and have some of his coat trimmed to help keep him more comfortable. Not knowing if he had ever been to a groomer before, we took great care in searching for one. We took him to Masako and asked for a "standard grooming". She was very attentive to any detail we gave to her about Toby. When we came to pick him up, we were so delighted with how clean and trim he looked, as well as how relaxed he was. It was evident to us that he was in no hurry to leave and that says alot! We really liked the fact that Masako only grooms one dog at a time to allow for a comfortable and stress-free experience.
