Tami is just an amazing dog-walker. She was recommended to me by Sellwood Grooming, and she has been walking my dog Bosco for 18 months, since he was a few months old. In theory she walks him for an hour, but its usually a lot longer than that. She likes to take several dogs together, after making sure that they're compatible (she has a great understanding of dogs). She picks the dogs up, either on foot or in her car, and the "walk" is usually a combination of walking on a leash and playing at a park. She says its more "doggie adventures" than straight dog-walking When i'm walking Bosco myself, I sometimes run into his buddies with their owners-- its great to see how much the dogs love each other. She'll throw balls, and for dogs that like water, she takes them swimming. They go to a lot of different places. She has occasionally taken them to 1,000 acres (Sandy River Delta), Bosco's very favorite place. One day she called me and said "Do you mind if I keep Bosco for a few hours? I feel like going to the coast". Bosco, who is a high energy dog, just adores her. He sits up on the table on my deck, ears perked, waiting for the sight of her car, which is almost too much for him to bear. It cracks me up to see him sitting in the back seat of her car with a couple of other dogs, all grinning as broadly as they can, as they head off for their adventures.
Tami also does dog/house sitting in the area; perfect for when we go away. She is a great person and really reliable; she is very concerned to make sure that the dogs don't miss out on their walks, even when she is ill, she makes sure that they're covered. She charges $20 for the walking, and $25 a day for the dog/house sitting (which includes a walk). Ok, I've never had another dog-walker, so I can't really make comparisons, but I can't imagine it being much better than this. read more
