Got my car towed from California to Pitts, found about Bowser Hyundai on Google Maps and went there for the 22k miles maintenance + making sure all fluids were anti-freeze. The customer service was incredible! Dan went beyond my expectations and sorted out some confusion with my pre-paid maintenance plan. For sure, all my cars will be serviced at Bowser. read more

I just visited the dealership about 30 minutes ago to look at a kona and a tuscon. My kia lease is up in a few months. This visit was eerily similar to my last visit right b4 I bought the Kia. On both visits, I walked into the showroom, browsed around, sat in a kona, looked at another few on the lot, and during the entire experience, not one person greeted me or said one word to me. The person at the front desk, who I assume is a greeter/receptionist/whatever, never moved a muscle. I guess she was at a critical point in her pokeymon game. Anyway, I will be buying a new hyundai, but absolutely not at a bowser dealership read more

Once again Bowser hyundai amazed me Took the car in for inspection and informed them I had a brake problem. They replaced a caliper and inspected the vehicle. Drove it home and the brakes were still grinding. They ended up replacing rotors and shoes. Don't they test tide the car. And worse yet: how did it pass inspection? read more

If I could give no stars I would they are a horrible dealership they have no clue about the vehicle recalls or anything I have ever called about I regret ever doin business with them. Their service area and manager doesn't care if the service or recalls are done correctly and if they happen again they tell you .. that you have to pay out of pocket I strongly advise TAKE BUSINESS AND MONEY ELSE WHERE !!! read more

Terrible dealer that lied about my oil consumption issue. Then to top it off, when I went to another dealer to do the oil consumption test, it was found that Bowser doesn't even update Carfax appropriately. I have documentation of oil changes that are listed in Carfax solely as generic service. I can prove this. Absolutely awful dealership. read more

0 STARS! A few weeks ago I dropped my vehicle off to be serviced after having some issues with it, little did I know I would have to go without my car for over a MONTH. I repeatedly called the service department and front desk the entire time , 90% of the time the phone just went to voicemail- I left multiple voicemails explaining how I needed answers since my car had yet to even be diagnosed and how I could not go without a car for a month due to my work schedule and never received any call backs from either department. After about 2 weeks of still not having my car I called yet again to try to get answers and was told that my car was "next in line" since they operate on a queue system?? Another week went by and my car STILL had not been even looked at. I called for what felt like the 100th time and requested to speak to the service manager and was sent to another voicemail box. It took him 2 days to call me back , and another 5-6 days to completely fix my car. My entire experience here was just agonizing, I will make sure to never take my vehicle here again for another service or maintenance. Expecting people to go without their only form of transportation is out of this world, absolutely 0 customer service. read more

I had replied to Megan that I don't wish to use their dealership again. Apparently a second reply was sent to me via my personal email, which I did not see in time to respond because the link expired. I can only say that before I saw that second response, I spoke with another location of Bowser, a very nice person, who told me he would contact their service manager to call me. That was four days ago, and I still haven't received a call and overall since the date of service it's been 10 days ago. It's just puzzling how they perform work that is a problem - compounds the problem - but they don't want to take responsibility for it. They're very unkind and dismissive when it comes to telling the customer that the customer is wrong and they're right and they just close the door on you so to speak.im giving them fewer stars than the last review and I'm only posting this again because I've been contacted by Megan, but cannot reply to her. read more

Bowser Hyundai - Car Dealers Near Me - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

See all

I lost power steering while driving through a busy intersection, and had AAA tow me to a dealership. They recommended Bowser Hyundai as they were on a preferred list. Sounded great to me. We are now 11 days in, I have zero answers about what exactly is wrong with my car, when it will actually be diagnosed, what needs to be fixed or anything. The last time I spoke to my personal 'service advisor' she gave me minimal information 1 out of 3 times I called, and promised she would call me back with updates, that was now three days ago. Never in my 20+ years of car ownership have I dealt with situation like this. If and when I get my car back, I certainly will not be using this dealership ever again. read more

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! After driving from Florida to Pittsburgh for the holidays I was in desperate need of an oil change, Chris Kolcum called me back and actually texted with me to make sure he could find a time and day that worked for me and the dealership! Considering this was a super last minute appointment I am surprised they were able to squeeze me in at all, but he told me when worked best and we made it work! OH and we also got a flat tire on the way back to Pittsburgh from Florida and the second my new tire was delivered I texted Chris and he immediately told me to come on in! They took great care of me and I am all around thrilled with my experience! did I mention this all happened the week of Christmas! 10 Out Of 5 ! read more

Unfortunately we just had a bad buying experience at Bowser. The salesman (Jonathan) gave us a tale about how they acquired the car, which made it seem like a deal that wouldn't come around again. However, when we got to signing the paperwork, the finance lady inadvertently told us the truth, not knowing the lie the salesman had reeled us in with. All of the deception has just left a very bad taste in our mouth. Just be honest and deal fairly, that's all we want. Later in the week we had a simple question, and our calls were never returned. Several other minor things occurred, assurances not kept, and it all adds up to an unsatisfactory experience. When I told my friend about it, she relayed a story about her bad experience and the way they were treated when buying a car. We will not buy a car here again. I just don't feel we can trust them. read more

AWFUL SALES AND SERVICE EXPERIENCE. 0 stars. I purchased a 2019 Santa Fe LAST APRIL. They promised only soft pull on my credit, I had a pre-approval. They ran a hard pull 8 times that are still on my credit report. Got 3/4 through the paperwork then there was a problem with the deed on the car I chose. They offered a similar car in a different color. BUT it has peeling on the door handles and rims. They told me it was warranty work and they would get it fixed right away. That the parts would be ordered right away, give them around 8 weeks. 8 weeks goes by. Nothing. I was patient. A few months later, I called service. No one has any idea what I was talking about. Left a message for the manager. No return call. More months go by. In November I emailed my sales rep Oggie. No reply. More months go by. I text Oggie in February. He finally responded, apologizes, had me come back out to the dealership again so they can see what parts need to be ordered and swear to me that manager Brian will take care of it, just give them a few weeks. That was February. Nothing. Now it's MAY, a FULL YEAR after purchase. I message Oggie again, this time threatening bad reviews and legal action. He apologies, says he's getting his GM on it and his GM will call me either tomorrow (Saturday) or Monday. No return call. I text AGAIN. This time I'm told to bring it in the following Wednesday. I walk in to drop off my car. A mechanic is leaning on the counter having a conversation with Chad, another employee. He says "I think someone's coming in that Brian forgot to follow up with" I'm like , yes, that's me and he's not the first to neglect to follow up." They put me in a dirty loaner sedan that smells like whoever has it before me and is a major down grade on my vehicle. Thursday, no call. Friday at 4:30 I finally call to find out when my car will be done. I find out it was assigned to an advisor named Valerie who didn't bother to call to let me know my car was ready on a Friday afternoon. I spoke to Chad. I complained that I wasn't called. Chad stated "I can't make other people do their job". No helpful, highly insulting, and incredibly infuriating. Apparently literally NO ONE at Bowser actually does their job or followed up with customers. To this very moment no manager or employee has taken responsibility or offered anything by way of apology. Furthermore my wheels look like crap, they look like they just spray painted them and the paint ran. If you choose to buy or use their service, I wish you luck. Buyer beware. read more

BEWARE HIDDEN FEES AND LIES. I contacted Hyundai about the engine locking issue in my 2013 Hyundai Sonata, caused by connector rod bearings. Hyundai recommended sending it to Hyundai of Bowser in Pleasant Hills for a free lifetime warranty eligibility check. When I spoke with Craig, he didn't mention any fees, nor did Val, who handled my case. However, the lifetime warranty was denied, despite the issue being covered under warranty, unless I provided 12 years of maintenance records. I'm now facing hidden diagnostic fees from the dealership, despite Hyundai's initial claim that the process would be free. I had already paid for a diagnosis from another mechanic. After posting my review on Google, the owner replied, falsely stating that I was aware of these charges. This can be easily proven, as I was on a recorded line. BEWARE. They are dishonest and lack transparency! Additionally, they added a credit card fee without informing me. REPLY TO OWNER- I'd love to come in and listen to the recorded conversations. If there is a single mention of a fee associated with my car coming in for the warranty I'll take down my bad reviews. If you and your staff are lying I want reimbursed for the money that was stolen from me by your dealership and paid for my time. read more

Best group of dealers and finance managers in the world Found a truck on bowser web site and contacted my go to guy Bernie We spoke a bit about the details and he transferred me down to the finance dept and spoke to the great and wise Don Leon, at that time he started the paper work the next afternoon my wife and I went up to actually look at the truck (which was a clean, nice and well maintained) a used Nissan Frontier We met up with don signed the papers and then went back up to Bernie to review a few things and we rode off with a new to us truck. Thanks again to Bernie from the Hyundai sales dept and Don in finance to help my wife and I make this move so smooth This makes my fourth purchase for the bowser group and will definitely buy from them every time read more

My car has been there for 10 days, at the time of this review. No one answers the phone. I have left several voicemails and no one calls back. Service/Repairs is friendly and helpful. Gets the job done right. Only 4 stars because they tried to sell me something one time that was kinda expensive and I knew was not needed. Also, the waiting room can be irritating AF because I can hear two completely different songs playing at the same time, all the time, over multiple visits. read more

Terrible customer service. Absolutely no communication as they hold your car for a week. According to them it takes more than a day to diagnose a car, yet they don't have any details? Absolutely no info they can give, other than, they are still diagnosing the problem. It's more like C**d S. the person that is overseeing the service was off Friday and Saturday and they just didn't want to tell us the truth, that the car is actually still just sitting there not being looked at or diagnosed. I will never come back to this dealership. read more

The service department here is not responsive and rude! They give you the run around and are not helpful in fixing a problem.

My hyundai had an engine failure and it was not under warranty anymore since it is a salvage title. I was so desperate and couldn't afford to fix it as I am a student, that I advertised it on craiglist for sale by parts. Dan from the service department contacted me and instead of offering to buy the car for cheap, he offered to take a look if it is eligible to repair under recall. I would have never known that it was under a recall because two shops that I've been to told me that there is no hope and it's out of warranty. He got an approval for a new engine under recall and installed it, even waited for over an hour for me to come from work to pick it up. I am eternally grateful for all his kindness, and I hope he gets a raise too! 1,000,000/5 rating :) read more

These guys were great. I have a Hyundai that is about 10 years old. The Check Engine light came on several months ago. I took it to a dealer in Northern Virginia and they said they couldn't determine the precise problem but said that I should start by replacing a particular part...at a cost of $800+. I wanted a second opinion so I took it to Bowser when I was in Pittsburgh. The Bowser folks gave a precise diagnosis and a repair quote under $500. Everything was completed in a reasonable amount of time...very honest and solid team there. I highly recommend Bowser. read more

This is in response to Suzan's comment. You never drop your car off at bowser, it's your job to take it to enterprise so someone there misinformed you. I've had to get rentals plenty of times through bowser and if it was a car through enterprise, it was my responsibility to return it. Plus I know a guy from enterprise and it doesn't work like that. You're responsible for the car no matter who is paying for it. read more

I've been here to service my car a couple of times and have been very pleased each time. Scheduling a service appointment is very easy and can be done online. The online sales department needs to get on board with the showroom sales staff - if online cuts a deal with a customer that the showroom sales people don't like don't take it out on the customer! The showroom staff aren't very nice once the sale is done. Don't ask questions about anything - even management treats you unkindly no matter how cordial you're being. Don't like the place and sorry I bought there. read more

My husband and I have serviced our car several times at the Hyundai bowser service center. We were extremely disappointed by our last visit. We were given a rental car through enterprise as our car was under warranty. We were told to drop the rental off at bowser to pick up our car when it was ready. We did just that. We were told all customers drop off there rentals at bowser. The car was left in their open parking lot for 3 days. Enterprise was not even informed that the car was returned. On Tuesday we get a call from enterprise saying there is a huge crack on the windshield. We literally only used the car to get back home and then to pick up our car after it was ready, and it was in excellent condition without a scratch when returned. Clearly, the car was damaged as it was left to sit on an open lot at bowser. We were told that bowser holds no responsibility and will not get involved. We were very happy with the service Dan provided us. When it comes to bigger issues such as issues of liability, the upper management (Bill and Mike Salja) are very quick to absolve themselves and wash themselves of any wrongdoing. Unlike other dealerships that try to work out other arrangements or look for solutions, they wanted to avoid any help all together. That being said, we will not be using the services of bowser anymore, as we cannot trust this management. Although this dealership will probably provide services required, our most recent experience with them has left a bitter taste in our mouth. We do not believe the upper management is trustworthy when it comes to important matters, thus we would not recommend this dealership. Be ware customers, do not return your rentals to bowser, return them directly to Enterprise (they will not tell you this). We were just about to upgrade our car to a family car after the arrival of our child. We will definitely not be going to bowser anymore. For the small price of a windshield, bowser has lost a family of once dedicated customers. read more
